Disc unreadable error

It used to be every now and then, but now I get it all the time, with all my games. It'll happen during play, whenever. I'll get that one, and then sometimes when I'm trying to play a game (usually Guitar Hero), it says to play this disc in an Xbox 360, or some weird message like it's in a DVD player or something.

My 360 is only about 4 months old too...

I have 2 boxs and my newer kept doing this a few weeks ago. Spoke to m$ and they said try another game!
I explained I had over 50 games and all had the same message, they then agreed to repair it. Week later new box and no issues.

Give them a call, it will be worth it.

Yea but how long would it take to get my 360 back...wtf would I do while it was away from me??? Play my Wii? meh...

I had the same problem with one particular game. (Dead Rising) Not long after I stopped playing it, my 360 crashed. Probably completely unrelated, but still annoying.

one of the rental discs I had broke in my machine O.O! It didn't shatter but it had a couple of cracks in it x.x i didn't even do it! And I got that message. I also get the: clean disc now message. it would be nice if the game let you save where you are when you get that message.

Were the rental company annoyed? That sounds like the kind of thing that would end up costing a fortune...

Actually the guy was really nice, didn't charge me or anything for the disc, i explained calmly that I know that i didn't drop the disc and that no neither pets nor younger siblings had gotten a hold of it. he exchanged the disc for me. great bloke.
