Question on Davy Jones' Locker

I have reached the third skull in the guide but i don't know where to go. It is the area with the guy stearing the ship with no ship around him. I have gone backwards from where you start out and nothing happens and i can't clime any of walls. Is there a way to get out of this place?

Stand in front of the wheel and the prompt to hit LB should come up. Hit it and fight the guys that show up, then return to the wheel and use your LB (or maybe A) again.
