Geez....this really ticks me off, now i dunno the situation with you other guys, but in my opinion....xbox tech support sucks. well at least the repair center does.

You see, i bought my xbox in March '06 and it worked fine towards gameplay etc.
but, when i wanted to make my live profile, it wouldnt work...so i called up xbox tech support and they told me to send it in due to a port malfunction..
they sent me back a refurbished console...................
Then, i set up my live name, after around a month.......it wont read disks..not even dvds..
so i sent it in again for them to replace the disk drive......i got it back in late april.....and yesterday...IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN!! it would freeze after about 10 minutes when i start up a game disc.

like i said i dunno about your experiences with tech support, but for me...they really sucked.
btw, im just blowing off steam....im not usually this angry. and i dont mean to rant...

now i was wondering what i should do...im gonna call em up again tommorow, and im gonna ask for a new console, because this one already broke several times..
so...yeah, put in some input if you like
(i dont really mean to insult those that work at tech support, its just that they really didnt do the best work)

To me it sounds like you have one of the faulty original consoles. The freezing every 10 minutes happened to me ab out 6 months ago. I know there was a recall on all the launch consoles I never knew about.

Now if you didn't get a launch console then that is just horrible luck. I know most of the repair services that they do is outsourced and not actually done at their centers, so it is really hit or miss the kind of service you will be getting at times.

My suggestion, and I know it is to late at this point is pick up a replacement plan when you get a console these days cause things are so messy anymore. I never believed in them but I got a fresh console cause of it, no questions asked.

Back on point. Push with them for a new machine, this one obviously is a lemon and its costing them and you more money then it is worth to keep repairing it. After 3 repairs they should be replacing your system.

like i said, they sent me a refurbished console, and it broke twice since i got it back. So that should be enough jurisdiction to get a new console.

dang that must rlly suck, did u have to pay for all that? and i have a question to my warrenty ran out and my xbox has been on the edges can i still get them to fix it if i pay them or do i have to buy a 400 bucks console again?

no luckily i didnt have to pay for it.....but it still sucks that it broke on me several times..in your case though, they may charge you for repairs, but i dont think youll have to buy a new console

Don't think you will get a other console. There are many problems with x360's...Many of my xbox live friends have got broken x360's and my x360 is now broken too. I will get it back next week... i hope...They said i would get it back in 10-15 days and today its the 10th day.

I heard some where that EB games &/or Gamestop have somekind of an exchange plan if you buy an XBOX from them and it goes bad. Does anyone know if this is true and how it works?

This topic never ceases to surprise me...

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with the 360. This is probably the 10th time that I've shared with someone about my 360's dying on me. I am currently on my 3rd 360 and I am a couple days away from launching my new Elite. Now, if my Elite breaks down...I'm going to be really pissed off. In less than a year I went through 2 malfunctioning 360's. I feel your pain, my friend. Some people keep loyal to M$, but I don't know how loyal I'll stay if the consoles keep breaking down. I agree with you about M$ Tech Support. They truly do suck! 3 phone calls to them amounted to about 3 hrs. of my life gone to waste. I hope things will get better for you.

Sorry to hear that man, can't comment on support cause I've never had to phone them, I'm paranoid, I keep my 360 far away from any walls or obstructions :P

Yes....i got it about a year after it launched and its just run out of warranty so no doubt it will break when I move home in a couple of weeks.

I'm having the same problem. I'm on my 6th xbox 360. But I have gone through 5 in the past month and a half. It has been really weird once i get one back from repair it breaks a week later, So I'll get this one back tom. and hopefully this one will work longer than a week.

But I asked for a new console and since i had some many 360 problems they had a rep from xbox call me and he said that they are replacing it with a repaired one again, and i told him my concerns and he told me that it would work fine, but I will say this if this one breaks within a reasonable amount of time I'm going to be extremely pissed, but I just hope this one works.
