Whats the hardest x360 game to complete on the hardest difficulty?
I think its Call of Duty 3 on Veteran. I own about 60 or 70 xbox 1 games but none of them is as hard as Call of Duty 3... oh well maybe 1 thats Juiced Complete dont think anybody have that game but its a racing game and most of the time you have to race against opponents much faster then you so its impossible to win some races. And if you dont have a money left the game is over. Yup you have to start all over again.

In my opinion, the hardest retail game is Guitar Hero II. I don't know anyone who has got every single achievement in this game. Some are really insane. Like getting 5 stars in every single song in expert, 500.000 points in one song, 1 million points in coperative or completing Jordan in Expert.

just cause is pretty hard to get achievements in since there are so many bugs and glitches in it that prevent you from beating parts of it. also the difficulty randomly spikes during the game, every once in a while one of the missions has you doing something near impossible that will take dozens and dozens of tries to beat

Lost Planet on Extreme has to be it. I haven't even tried COD 3 on Vet yet. I still can't get a 1000 points in COD 2 on Vet. Well I'm 3 Ach away. Just the Levels where you have to clear buildings. I can only get 1 building then spend hours getting shoot to hell trying to get the rest. I hate that game. Just Cause was one of the easiest games I ever played. At least I didn't come across any bugs when I played it. Hexic is by far the hardest XBLA game I can't get more then 40 points but I only played it a few times.

I've heard that Lost Planet is solid on extreme but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. CoD 3 is pretty hard but after playing number 2 its not that great a leap.

As for arcade games I think Geometry Wars is far harder than Hexic, but that's just me.

Chromehounds is hard to get points on that's for sure but its not the hardest in terms of difficulty which I believe this thread was about. To be honest the single player on that game is pointlessly easy, the only benefit to doing it is for the extra kit.

In both games, what it comes down to is time. Their achievements are both extremely time consuming. Final Fantasy XI also happens to also be financially-consuming, which I am sure adds to the difficulty to some extent.

In terms of achievements, how about Quake's number 1 in the world achievement? That's the equivalent of being number 1 in Gears of War.

FEAR doesn't compare with this game, if you own the game you will get all the achievements, for people who rent...good luck!

If you are talking about story lines, then I think Rainbow Six: Vegas on realistic is one beast to conquer. Call of Duty 3 on veteran, and Dead Rising were pretty hard too.

On the achievement side, Dead or Alive 4, Chromehounds, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, and Rainbow Six: Vegas are pretty hard.

PGR3 is the hardest game for achievements and difficulty for me. I've had the game for two months and I've only got two achievements. I thought Call of Duty 2 was alright but I haven't maxed out in 3 yet, my 360 ate it. The hardest achievement I've gotten up to this point is the Extreme soldier on Lost Planet.

Has anyone tried playing Sonic the Hedgehog Retail???!!! We only have one guy on this site who has completed it and if you have played it, EVERY achievement is ridiculous. I think I've put like 10 hours into the game and i don't even have a single achievement. It is by FAR the hardest game I have personally played on xbox, at least achievement wise. There are alot of games where there are one or two achievements are difficult, but strictly cover to cover I think this game is the hardest.

Fifa World Cup's global challenge achievement is one of the hardest of any game to get. You receive 500 pts for this achievement and although most of the other challenges aren't that hard in this group, the game between Sweden and Brazil (you play as sweden) and you're down by 2 with 10 minutes of FIFA time left and you have to win by *2*. If you look at some of the people with over 100k or even 200k, you'll see most if not all of them don't even have this achievement.

I'm happy to have 31337 as my gs right now and to have completed that global challenge as well.

Dead Rising is time consuming more than anything else though I've yet to finish all the achievements.

F.E.A.R. seems like it would be incredibly annoying to play through as many times as you'd have to for the single player achievements.

Call of Duty 2 took me a month playing nearly every day and being stuck at 2 or 3 parts for days at a time but very doable and satisfying.

Lost Planet Extreme is just insane.

For me Table Tennis seems hard. I've actually logged quite a few hours playing and still have like 30 GS though I'm not exactly trying just for achievements.

It would theoritically take you several years of non-stop experience boosting on that came with a group of people to get all 1000 on it. The highest in the world right now is about 400 gamerscore for the game legit, belonging to a Japanese boy who's been playing since it came out.

Fifa World Cup's global challenge achievement is one of the hardest of any game to get. You receive 500 pts for this achievement and although most of the other challenges aren't that hard in this group, the game between Sweden and Brazil (you play as sweden) and you're down by 2 with 10 minutes of FIFA time left and you have to win by *2*. If you look at some of the people with over 100k or even 200k, you'll see most if not all of them don't even have this achievement.

the global challenges are SOOOO easy, i got 1000 in no time at all in that game, everyone in the world has that achivement.

IMO, Perfect Dark Zero, hands down. PDZero on Dark solo is hard as hell. No respawns, no health packs, no checkpoints. A couple shots and you're dead, gotta start the whole level over again.

As for Guitar Hero 3, it requires skill. It's not like CoD4, where if you're really good at the game, you'll still die a couple times. It's the same over and over again, and it's fun as well. Before you know it, you'll top TTFAF.

As for "No Shooting in the War Room", flashbangs are your best bet. Keep going with it, and you'll eventually hit checkpoints where you normally wouldn't.

My vote would have to go to The Orange Box, since it hit a 99/99 milestone, and Portal being one of the toughest to top. Not the game itself, but the level challenges, having 3 each, 18 total. I've gotten about 5 myself, and I spent hours already.

Time taken, extra expense, lack of any ability to boost your scores (there are minimum level requirements for some missions, now even allowing a free ride on those "easy" achievements), and on top of it all, it requires other people for almost all the game, and so little is able to be done solo.

The hardest xBox360-game I've played (so far) is clearly: QUAKE IV!
If not for:
-the framerate
-the 'no mouse/keyboard-disadvantage' (first game I've to say that)
-the ridiculous list of almost-impossible-achievements (1st in world-leaderboard-WTF?)
-the pretty lame conversion from PC
-the high difficulty even on lower game modes
then for the fact that all these 'points' I just listed are 'working against' the player!
A *fast + difficult* FPS[!!!!] like QUAKE IV running on such a *framerate* + *gamepad-interface* is just...

I bought the PC-Version years before but since I'm a QUAKE-veteran I just 'have' to own every QUAKE-game!

The most difficult games i've ever played would have to go to Guitar Hero II and III, but this is personal, because I use a standard controller, never a guitar. I've got 32 Achievements and 310 points on GH III, and i'm 2 songs away from the "Buy a Guitar Already" achievement. Something that makes this kinda special is that I don't play GH like a puzzle game, memorizing every song and note in order to beat them, I just follow my eyes and keep the rythum, if I fail I try again and do it differently, but never will I play in performance mode. I just started my attempt to clear expert when I slowed down on the last tier of Hard, and it is the single most intense game experience the standard controller can deliver.

Coming in a close second is EDF 2017, a game in which you MUST defeat the lower difficulties first, just to unlock the weapons that are strong enough to get you past LEVEL 1 OUT OF 53 of the aptly named "Inferno" Difficulty. A game whose only achievements are "Finish the Game" sets the bar pretty high when you open the box, and inferno will not dissapoint you. Every enemy is a MONSTER of hp and attack power, and any hit from a ranged or melee strike will usually kill you. Not to mention the "advanced" controls, sheesh.

Dead Rising is difficult, and can be frustrating at first, but once you get used to the idea of starting the story over with a stronger character, things start to fall into place, i'm going to have my 1000 by the end of the year, i'd do it sooner but I don't own a copy anymore, and i'll have to borrow it to finish off my Saint run. For those of you who have problems w/this game and the melee system, I can only say two words, "mannequin torso!" Friggin Awesome.

Lost planet's extreme mode is delicious, but the difficulty is mostly related to the crosshair's clumsy movement, not as much to the behavior of the in game enemys, which behave like any enemys on the hardest game mode, attacking with greater speed and accuracy than most players.

CoD is only difficult because of the perfect aim system the programmers have given the enemy ai, whenever an AI crosshair touches the player, no matter how far away the player is, no matter what weapon the enemy is using, he will hit you 70% of the time, and the other 30% he'll hit you in the head.

Hexic is hard if you don't have good pattern recognition skills, eventually you start planning your moves unconsciously, and every group of 3 you make will turn into a chain reaction. If you're having trouble with the bombs, just remember, try and create as many groups of 2 as you can in your patterns as you dispose of blocks, bring single blocks of shared color together, that way you have the color basis to get rid of your bombs across the entire board.

I think you guys are forgetting a little achievement called BRASS BALLS as far as difficulty goes. Bioshock on Hard was made less frustrating by the VitaChambers, which saved the state of the game and allowed you to regenerate Crackdown style, turning them off to get the Brass Balls achievement forces you to chow down on every pep bar and bag of chips, and guzzle down every bottle of russian vodka and rapturian merlot, using plasmids and gene tonics you thought had no purpose before you turned the chambers off, things like Booze Hound and Research Specialist that only made the enemys fall down slightly faster before, but now are the basis for your very survival.

On a serious note GH3 on expert is rediculous and Dead Rising is far too hard but no game is too hard as someone will have 1000 on it exept FF XI so that is the winner!!!

Also Transformers is stupidly hard.

Yeah, my friend worked out the math for the blowing up 1 million blocks achievement.

If you played bomberman for 12hours a day it would take you somewhere around 180 days to get that achievement.

But Final fantasy xi is the hardest game.

Chromehounds, FF XI and GRAW for me - stupid games all for achievements and fun.

Out of the games I've done:



COD3 (would be way easier if it wasn't broken. And if the people you had to shoot and the people you couldn't shoot looked different.)
COD2 (flat-out hard.)
Stranglehold (I never had auto-aim on until the very end of my ordeal.)


Out of the ones I haven't finished yet:



Guitar Hero 2+3 (the only thing my microsia drastically effects is my ability to play real or fake guitar)
DOA4 (last time I let a sexually frustrated 15-year-old recommend me a game)
Spider-Man 3 (If I didn't know of two people with it done legit, I'd say it was impossible)

I'd say Perfect Dark Zero and F.E.A.R are the hardest 1000's so far.

Out of game difficulty, I'd have to say Dead Rising; especially when you tack on the desirability of achievements.

As for achievements alone, I think Ridge Racer 6 is a pain in the ass. Most of the achievements are for online only, and yet no one plays rank matches. Ever.

[Method]

For me, I'd say The Orange Box. The Neighborhood Watch achievement is very tough if you don't use the cheats and the Portal Aperture Science achievement was just silly hard to me. On top of all that you still have the "Little Rocket Man" achievement, plus the game has a total of 99 achievements!!

Beijing 2008 is pretty hard, the Kayak achievement is near impossible and most of the others wreck your hands, no one has manage to 1000/1000 yet.
