This game blows, the concept of bosses in a game like this is extremely lame and the lack of healing items is even more lame, I can't stand the fact that I'm 1 level away from cap on my character and for some reason I'm getting killed by plain goblins on this lame ass forrest mission.
If you like the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors game, do NOT buy this piece of crap game.

thats what you think, and thats fine but i personally enjoy the game ALOT. your getting killed by goblins when your level 8? did you equip any items? its not a difficult game and except when tryin to get a "A" on a couple of choice levels. i'm sorry your no good at the game but thats no reason to tell everybody that it completely sucks and that they shouldn't ever buy it. your trying to turn your opiniun
into a hard-core fact and it simply don't work that way.
Folks, try the demo or rent this title and decide for yourself if its worth playing, don't just accept a jaded opiniun from a frustraited gamer =-)

He's only giving his opinion. Why can't he do that? I happen to agree with him, but even if I didn't.......:drunk

I can't sit here and say the entire game is lame, however I'm not exactly fond of the game play. The story-line is interesting however not really told well. I played the demo and enjoyed it so I bought the game after it came down in price some. Since then I've been working on leveling Inphyy before finishing her story and moving on. Here in lies were the game gets very tedious and boring. I can only sit there playing missions over and over trying to level the character up for so long. I'd like to know how close I am to leveling the character but I don't believe this game shows that (am I wrong?). The game is far from perfect and has some fun aspects to it, yet I agree that some aspects of this game are "lame".

i can accept a opiniun that he thinks the game is lame, personal preferences but he is telling ppl NOT to buy the game because he don't like it, thats my only gripe. yes there are parts of the game that suck ass, like Tyuuru. a pre-pubecent girl throwing water at monsters to kill them, thats bout the dumbest concept i've ever heard of or seen but there are lots of awesome features to the game and each person should decide for themselves, not take one persons word for it. yes that even includes me, just because i like the game don't mean another person would.

when you hit pause during a mission and then look in statis, below your health is shows orbs...... that is your level experience bar. i'm sure you know this but i'll add it anyways, they only can level up to level 9.

Lack of healing items? Try breaking open some of the chests that are all over the place, a good 80%+ contain health. Plus all the health dropped when you slaughter people. I don't think I ever died once I hit level 5, and the only one who died after level 3 were Tyrru and the priest (can't recall his name at the moment). Tyrru was my favorite character to play once she leveled up enough that her range was good. Levels 6-9 she just blew people away and I don't recall every being hit except by the ocasional archer.
I take that back, the King of Nights killed Inphyy my first attempt, I got too close and got sucked into a vortex, then lasered right afterward. But on my second try I killed him taking only minimal damage.
I still haven't beat the Forest with Inphyy for an A rating, but I have 15 or 16 victories where I got a B. Maybe if I fail it a few times it will change it enough to let me get an A. :p

Okay, I shall re-evaluate this game now that I've finished all possible aspects of the game that I can see.
I'll start with achievements.... The final two achievements were totally lame. I can see playing through the game and finishing all the story modes, but having to level your characters to level 9, and THEN play through them all again... that's totally cheesy! The A ranking one wasn't as bad as I expected, but I learned a few tricks on the way that helped out a lot and I'll share them in another post for those of you who actually like this lame game. =-P Had it not been for some of the things I learned and getting S on Inphyy's forest stage, I would be cussing it even more.
Now... On to the game play..
The game has some of the worst controls I've ever dealt with as a game in general. Sometimes it's slow and unresponsive and other times it just doesn't go in the direction you think it should be going. Having to deal with random drops just to have a better chance at getting an achievement really blows. Not to mention that I've played through the game at least 100 times "stages that is" and there are still 10 or more items that I've never seen drop. Several of them would make the difference a lot easier between a S rank and a B rank.
*Graphics*
The graphics in this game aren't very impressive, not that any of the other games that play like this one are, but they don't do anything really fancy which kinda sucked. If game play is lame (which it is) then I expect the graphics to make up for it and this game did not. That's the only reason I even brought them up.
*Cinematics*
Basically the movies pretty much sucked. They were all crap taken straight from in the game for the most part. And there is a stage with Myifee where the catapults break down a wall, but the wall just explodes, you don't even see any rocks being launched at it or anything... Pretty lame IMO.
The ones that are actually more like movies aren't too bad, but they also aren't the best thing I've ever seen and don't drive me to keep playing this sorry excuse for a game longer just to see the next one.
*Characters & Story*
Almost all of the characters totally suck when you start out with them, which is kinda lame. I understand the concept of needing to build your character up in levels to get stronger, but most of them aren't even fun to play until level 6 or so which is pretty sad.
The only two characters that I actually enjoyed was Vigk Vagk and Dwingvatt. However, their story lines were pretty sad, as was the overall story of the game unfortunately.
*Difficulty*
The difficulty system in this game is totally lame. You can't manually change the level of any character or stage, you just have to suck really bad in order for it to make the game easier for you. So you have to waste tons of time trying to get yourself killed, in order to beat any given stage with an A rank if it's too hard for you at level 3. I was fortunate enough to never have to drop a level in difficulty to accomplish any of the goals, although I would have, had I been able to choose to do so without having to waste 30 minutes trying to kill myself 3 times in order to do it.
*General Complaints*
Items do not transfer from character to character, each time you start a new character it's like playing for the very first time, all over again...
Having to keep a separate save file for every character, if you plan to do any of the "big" achievements in the game. Not to mention that the game does not have an auto save so you have to go in and manually save each time and you have the chance of saving over another character's file by mistake, which yes, I did do once, and it's a very large complaint that I've seen from several other posts.
Bosses that block forever. The bosses can sit there and just hold up their guard and never take any damage, no matter if you are attacking them from behind or not. I know shields and armor are great, but they don't make you totally invincible either....
If a computer controlled ally is hitting a mob, then you can't hit the same mob until after it has finished it's reflex animation. I'm pretty sure if one of you guys walked up and punched someone, I could punch him in less than 1 second after you did and it would effect them.... This game doesn't seem to think so.
Invincibility while swinging. Everything in this game is invincible while singing, "including yourself" which isn't as much of a blessing as one would think. The fact that you can only start 1 combo at a time, it has to be timed perfectly to hit one boss, but his 2000 friends who are all starting combos all the time easily have one going at the exact moment you stop swinging.
Bosses using special attacks 2, 3 or 4 times in a row without any pause between and never running out of "energy/orbs". Yeah, I know, it's a futile comment, mobs almost always cheat, especially bosses, but when you screw up the rest of the game you are supposed to excel where other games have not, and this is just another point that the game is still lame. =-)
The fact that bosses always come straight for you, even with there are 300 guys standing around them they are trying to kill them. I can easily die from trash mobs while trying to kill a boss, why can't he?
Orb Sparks, the fact that they shoot in the direction your character is facing and not the direction the camera is pointing. I don't care what my "character" is looking at, I'm only interested in what "I" can see.
Trap Boulders. The fact that the boulders, especially on Tyurru's stage that will hit you when they are easily a good 2 inches to your left or right on the screen.
Okay.. so back to my first post. Yes, if you are a fan of the Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors game and you think this game would be cool to play, it's not. This game blows the big goat and I would HIGHLY suggest staying away from it. If you want to get more achievements for your whoring needs and you want to spend aimless hours and have your eyes start bleeding from looking at this lame game for many hours, then by all means, pick it up. I still stand by the fact that the game is lame and I still think other people should avoid it at all costs. I have actually separated my disc into 4 sections and I'm going to mail them to the 4 corners of the world so that they will never be brought together again. I feel the game is actually that bad.
The only joy I got from this game was when I looked at the score screen and saw 1000/1000 and a subnote that said please draw and quarter me and mail me to the corners of the world! =-)
I thought I needed to post these reasons, so people wouldn't assume that just because, " I wasn't good at the game" wasn't the real reason that I hate it and don't want to ever see it again. =-)
And yes, I do believe that people should NOT buy this game. Because.....
It's Lame.
P.S. Not to mention the fact that the people defending the game in this post above this current post, only one of them didn't have something "bad" to say about the game.... So even the people who liked it didn't think it was totally awesome. =-)

that was a much better way to state your case and in much of it is more accurate, on the level up to 9 part, you don't have to wait till all your charaters are level 9 to start towards it. when i started playing inphy i rushed through the levels and got a "b" ranking on all of them and build up to level 9 at fort wyendell, after i hit level 9 i decided to try to hit the "a" ranking before i went on and replayed each level again to do so (got them all except that damn forest".
well anyways, i kept doing that with the other charaters and i ended up getting the "highest level" acievement right after i leveled vik vak (stupid name, don't care i spelt it wrong" without having to play the whole game again.
i still think that each person should atleast try the game themselves and to NOT trust any one persons idea of this game (or anu game for that matter) because no 2 people are gonna feel the exact way about everything.
personally i liked the graphics and never felt a delay in my controls but those cutscreens were downright frustraiting because they seemed to happen during my "orb attacks" and ended up stopping what could have been nice combos. and during those cutscreens your stuck in one spot while the mobs are still rushing you, sure you don't take damage during the cutscreens but as soon as they stop your gonna get hit once or twice.
but these are just minor gripes as i really enjoyed the game idea and had a lot of fun killing thousands and thousands of enemies.
in the words of that guy from reading rainbow "but don't take my word for it" atleast rent it and try it yourself
