Mum Dumps Blind Son On Side Of The Road

Livingston Parish sheriff's detectives said a legally blind 10-year-old's mother and aunt left him on the side of the road on Interstate 12.
Witnesses who alerted authorities Thursday said the child was put out of a van that was then driven a short distance away and parked while someone was sent back to get him.
Deputies later located the van, at which point they arrested the boy's mother, 32-year-old Christine Cole, who told them she made her son get out of the van for misbehaving.
She has been charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
Deputies also arrested the boy's aunt who was driving the van. Judy Chamberlain, 32, also faces cruelty charges.
The child is in state custody.
