Hey guys! I just wanted to know whether this game is worth a rent or buy since I know that it has had some bad reviews and glitches.
You could call me a Trekkie, I like Star Trek a lot but I'm not addicted to it, but I do love the design of the ships etc.
Any help would be great... I'm either getting this or Viva Pinata.

I bought the game and it is not a bad game, if your a trekkie fan you should buy it, if your not Rent It and see what you think of it.

Hmm, I see. Well I'm sort of half-way between a trekkie and a non trekkie :P... Well it's only around £19.99 over here which is cheap compared to most games, so I'll probably buy it. I can buy Viva Pinata too since my bro promised to buy me a game :p woo I always win ^_^!

If you have even a passing interest in Star Trek and Strategy/Action games, then you'll definitely want to pick this one up. The controls are a little difficult to adapt to, but once you figure out how to do everything you really can let loose and have fun.
It really is a good interpretation of Star Trek combat insofar as being very tactical and methodical. It may take you 5 minutes or more to take out a ship, but that's what I'd expect from a Star Trek combat sim.

Even as a Trekkie, it's a renter.
There's not much replay value, besides the mandatory replay to get all of the difficulty achievements. Multi-player's more or less dead. I'd go 2 or 3 hours at a stretch searching for a game without seeing one.
The single player's not bad. The achievements are a bit frustrating, but most of them are "above and beyond" type stuff within the missions. You don't actually have to do any of them to move through the story line. Just don't plan on going back to a mission without re-playing through, because there's no level select.
It's worth the $5 or whatever to rent it though. Entertaining for a while.

Renting it :) I'm not hoping for much based on the reviews/demo. But I'll give it a go!

I really am a sci-fi addict to the max, so I bought but let my friend borrow it for a while, but I still need the red-shirt award so I am getting it back next week.

I notice alot of the posts here for this game are months old, I am about to receive this game in the mail for renting. I am a somewhat trekkie fan, so hopefully it will be at least an amusing game like TMNT.
