RB3 Drum kit cymbal double hitting?

Bought the kit around 2 weeks ago, played on lolguitarhero6 and was perfectly fine with hits.
Turn on RB3 today and my stupid yellow cymbal double hits almost every time I tap it lightly. Blue and green are fine, having no problems with those, but the yellow one will not stop.
I tried everything, loosened it, tightened it, tried hitting on different spots.
No luck.

Any tips?

have the same problem with my blue cymbal, but only when i strike too hard. the only thing i can think of is hitting it softer. that's the only way it works for me.

taped a sock to my cymbal and it's a perfect temporary fix. i'll try the mod soon.
