I haven't heard much about this new ongoing, except it's being written by J. Michael Straczynski (I really liked his Thor run and Silver Surfer: Requiem was pretty cool). So the writing should be solid. I'm more worried about the new art and look of the 2010 Clark Kent/Superman. He looks like the lead singer of an Emo band.

Whats up with the red eyes? Kind of reminds me of Smallville when he has red kryptonite on him.

Other than that he just looks really young, the art reminds me of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Well, Superman does have heat vision. So he pretty much shoots lasers from his eyes. If I were to guess, I'd say that's why.

Not sure why there's such a hissyfit all over the comic world about his new look.

At least he's not the Red/Blue Supe that showed up over ten years ago.

That's actually what I though after I posted. But why would he be shooting his heat vision there? But whatever, whatever Super Man does what he wants!

Yeah, I mean, he looks pretty pissed off. I'd start off a good fight with some heat vision, you know?

Actually Supe is known to trigger his heat vision with his temper, or what little he has of it. Just check out the trailer to DC Universe Online.

I guess that fits the look. IE, pissed off look, hoody, chin-to-chest, etc.

the art reminds me of Ultimate Spider-Man.

That was my first thought exactly.

From what I heard, this new look was for a series looking back in the Superboy/"Smallville" years, hence the younger look and the emo clothes. But I could be wrong.

I don't really know much about Superman, because I'm not a huge DC fan, but I saw this and laughed. Why does every new makeover have to look the same for everything nowadays?

It's not me having anything against what I suppose people call 'emo' (I find social labels ridiculous, so I don't know what they call crap these days), because I know people who can pull off the style, but jeez. Everything is the same, and this style just doesn't seem to fit with Superman.

Idk, but I'm going to stop before I get into a rantfest x]
