I found out that if you stay at a fair distance just in range of your combar cross

and in line with the spider just wait until he jumps you its 100 guaranteed poison

just dont counter it with any buttons and wait. It happens often that he will lung at you and then jump

I'll try this, but i've almost given up on this one... played this level a million times now but but the freakin spider just wont poisen me.

It seemed way harder to get poisoned on purpose, through the game I got poisoned a few times, but for the trial much harder... As Mistikb pointed out, the way I did it was just letting the spider pounce me and munch away at me, then going to town with knives.

That's strange..i completed the level during my playthrough, then i completed it again. I unlocked the trial with no problems. I guess some is less lucky.

all you have too do is wait for the spider to jump on you and pin you down so you get the prompt to repeatedly press a button to get the spider off you. just DONT press anything and he will poison you every time.

Forget the lame technique of 'spit'n poison', it hardly works because a Lycan will mostly hit you before the spider, seting you free from your web prison (thanks, no really thanks, I appreciate that, you dumb son of a wulf).
BUT, a good way to have the spider poison you is to simply attack her from the front (I mean : aim for the head) and stay as close as possible of her. Soon she will take a stance with all her legs close to her body and usually right after she jumps on you, letting you live the unique experience of being poisonned willingly (if you don't hit any button, that's it)

just play the game on easy mode becuase the spider will do much less damage so you can take much more hits and better chnace to get posion. You still complete the trail so just play again after on paladin which makes it eays. I done this and wokred great for me.
