I would highly approve a GH: Metal or even just a big four GH. The game can be setuo starting with the classic era with Metallica,Megadeth etc and end with current bands like Lamb of God and others that way all eras are included in the game.

This game, like nearly every other guitar hero game, has proved that for the most part, Metal songs are the most challenging. I would worry about a Metal game though simply because most people don't have the slightest clue about what Metal actually is. No Parkway Drive, Slipknot, Atreyu, etc. Even this comment worries me:

There is tons of great Traditional Heavy Metal out there: White Wizzard, Cauldron, etc, etc.

It's true that it would be impossible to please everyone because of how diverse Metal is, but an all Metal game would be great if it went a little deeper than the Big 4 (and I love those 4 bands, I've just seen enough of them in Guitar Hero games).

Ideally, we would need to see bands like Death, Edguy, Manilla Road, etc getting recognition. Those are just examples of really popular Metal bands that have little to no mainstream support but are just as relevant in an all-metal version of guitar hero.

Guitar Hero:Metal...sign me up! If they do that, it should be spread across all of the metal sub-genres, starting with early metal like Black Sabbath, then thrash, then some of the heavier stuff like death metal and black metal (my personal favorite), and then some of the more modern metal.

The games have a few good songs in there but me, I'm a metalhead through and through and being the perfectionist I am, I like to try and 5 star every song in the game for5 my own personal pleasure. The thing I hate though is playing the soft indie stuff that I refuse to call rock at all cause it's all just pop music with guitars that bore the hell out of me.

Gimme some Kreator, Anthrax, Rammstein, The Agonist and Otep. Plus more.

There are millions of metal fans out there so since GH5 catered to the pansy ass masses who corrupt the charts with crap like Kings of Leon, Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys, why not treat us metal fans to a fuller experience?

I made a thread like this back when GH:A was first released. Thought GH:Monsters of Metal would of been an awesome name and could counteract the s*** that was GH:A.

The problem with this idea is that it would be impossible to make a setlist which everyone agreed on. I'd personally like some SlipKnot (the old stuff not the bulls*** 3rd and 4th albums), Children of Bodom, DevilDriver, MachineHead, Arch Enemy, Behemoth, Nile and other things like that. This clearly wouldn't be to everyones taste because we all like different things.

TL;DR? - Basically, get this s*** done. Activision should make a thread where we post song names. Any song gets X amount of mentions, it gets put on a shortlist.

Well, most people who buy these games like 1-2 specific genres of music. Now, that can't appeal to everyone so they add multiple different genres on the disc to mix things up and the rest, and specifics, can be finished with DLC.

Sadly, for the marketing it won't be a smart idea imo: we Metal fan are the minority of people who play GH, our loved kind of music is pretty much difficult to "play" , leaving the game with an overall higher difficulty (i'd love that, but the vast majority of GH players really don't care)

The target of the game would be a little, but very happy, slice of costumers (us headbangers) with an incredible amout of people that won't buy the game because the songs are "bleah" or "meh", thing that screech with the final objective of the programmers: selling the game as much as they can.

Isn't it all about the money in marketing nowadays :(?
