Bank Robbery and Crime Sprees?

I know there's a billion topics about these but I haven't found my answer.

Do the missions like Bank Robbery ones and such activate after certain times? Like, do you have to continue through the main game missions before you can take on some of those side missions?

Because the current game missions I have right now are Apocolypse 3, Dragon Tail 1, and New Goblin.

So far, I've gotten all the Petty Crimes out of random luck. But I cannot find a single Bank Robbery or Crime Spree.

What you do is press Back to go to the map, and scroll down to Crime Fighting, the areas in which the city is in yellow/green/whatever color, go there, and just swing around a bit, once you hear a police car and hear spiderman comment on something about it, look at your HUD and look for a yellow dot, follow the yellow dot (it should be the police car/crime/whatever).
I know that Petty Crimes are Arsenic Candy random missions, I got the Bank Robbery from a Dragon Tales random mission, so I bet you Crime Spree random missions are from Apocolypse.
And no, these have nothing to do with the "missions" on the display of the big map, these happen randomly while swinging around the city with no objectives.

You're right. I assumed the same thing too and was hanging around Apocolypse zones. After doing some random missions i got the crime spree achievement.

just keep fighting crime on the streets you will eventually find the bank robbers

I disagree about the missions not being an issue. As far as I am aware the last crime spree mission does not appear untill after you have defeated Kingpin, it should then spawn by you walking around the Greenwich area. Apart from that last one the rest are just achieved by walking around that gang area, you should know when you have them because they ussually start by either spidey commenting on a possible hideout or him mentioning sirens then having a police car to follow.
