A store employee in a west Greeley shopping center became suspicious Wednesday morning when she saw the "young kid dressed like a punk," walking back and forth past a nearby game store.
In minutes, the suspicious kid robbed the EB Games store, 4318 9th St. Rd., using a silver-colored gun and ran out of the shopping center, heading north.
The robbery occurred about 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych. "A young man about 5-foot-7 entered the store, pulled a gun and demanded money from one of the clerks," Tymkowych said. "He left with an undisclosed amount of money."
Police policy is not to release the amount of money taken in robberies.
The woman who saw the robber said he was between 17 and 21, dressed in baggy jeans and shirt, and wearing a red bandanna around his head. Police said he also wore a black baseball cap over the red bandanna, sunglasses and a black T-shirt. He had a light beard, and used a silver handgun in the robbery.
The Country Club Plaza shopping center, located across the street from the Greeley Country Club entrance on west 10th Street, also has a Starbucks, Noodles restaurant and Young's Vietnamese Cafe.
Clerks at the EB store refused to talk about the robbery, and many employees in the center never knew a robbery even occurred. The robber hit at the beginning of the lunch hour, when the shopping center was crowded with people and cars.
EB Games is a national chain of stores selling electronic games and equipment.
