A store employee in a west Greeley shopping center became suspicious Wednesday morning when she saw the "young kid dressed like a punk," walking back and forth past a nearby game store.

In minutes, the suspicious kid robbed the EB Games store, 4318 9th St. Rd., using a silver-colored gun and ran out of the shopping center, heading north.

The robbery occurred about 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych. "A young man about 5-foot-7 entered the store, pulled a gun and demanded money from one of the clerks," Tymkowych said. "He left with an undisclosed amount of money."

Police policy is not to release the amount of money taken in robberies.

The woman who saw the robber said he was between 17 and 21, dressed in baggy jeans and shirt, and wearing a red bandanna around his head. Police said he also wore a black baseball cap over the red bandanna, sunglasses and a black T-shirt. He had a light beard, and used a silver handgun in the robbery.

The Country Club Plaza shopping center, located across the street from the Greeley Country Club entrance on west 10th Street, also has a Starbucks, Noodles restaurant and Young's Vietnamese Cafe.

Clerks at the EB store refused to talk about the robbery, and many employees in the center never knew a robbery even occurred. The robber hit at the beginning of the lunch hour, when the shopping center was crowded with people and cars.

EB Games is a national chain of stores selling electronic games and equipment.

LOL no joke I would have ran out with a couple PS3's or 360's. He got away with a little over $500 which in Colorado makes it a Felony auto 15 years in "pound you in the ass prison"

Poor kid must be all messed up in the head. Could have grabbed a bag full of games while he was at it..What a waste of a robbery...hehehe

Back when I was working for Gamestop, one of the stores that was in a "racy" neighborhood was robbed as well but he was much smarter with his stealing. He maced the clerk, then ran into the back and grabbed like 5 PS2s and 2-3 Xbox360s.

Never heard if the guy was caught or not though I am sure he was if he tried to sell them to a pawn shop. I don't know about all, but the stores under the district manager I worked for made us send him the serial numbers of all systems that came into the store.

Nice call on the Office Space quote by the way!

stealing consoles wouldn't be smart unless you know ppl that'll want them personally but taking a bunch of un-opened games would be easier to sell and harder to track. $500? that all? what a loser, i'm not risking jail-time for anything less then $500,000.00

Doesn't sound like a punk, sounds like a gangsta or a wigger. Don't know many punks that where re bandanna's and sunglasses and a baseball cap.

what I would have done is take a big bag and fill it with a PS3 and every game I could grab in time, maybe even grab a 360 elite while I'm at it:p

but nothing less than $10,000.

i find it funny that in the description it does not say what color he was or his build, kinda crucial info as there are many people dressed like "punks".

Well if you really want to know he was a skinny kid between 17-23 and was Mexican, but leave it to our "great" reporters here and their lack of thought process. LOL

If he was looking for money, that would've been the place to hit.:)
