I rented this and spent about 2 hours playing so far. So I thought this was an easy 1000 but for one achievement you need to play for 12 hours. 12 hours? I could barely manage one hour of this self inflicted torture masquerading as a videogame. Thats not just bullshit, thats bullshit on a platter with a boar's head with an apple stuck in its mouth. And then you have to mess about with rubber bands to get 10,000 miles... oh but the battery in my controller will run out if i leave it on overnight.
Dangit, looks like ill be sending this one back to SG with only 200 points on it :mad:

I agree with you, easily in the top 5 worst games for the 360. It's fun to fly around for about 15 minutes, then it sucks

It forced me to buy a Plug-and-Play kit, and I just left my box on overnight and got the 10,000 Miles and 12 Hours achievements during the night. Other than that it's not so bad.

Probably not. I've can't think of any Xbox Game that will allow achievments to be unlocked while cheats are on.

But from what I can tell playing it you cannot die. You can lose Metropolis but you are still good.

Guys there are tons of post/threads concerning this. Feel free to check ( as you should have ) It you use the cheats you can still get all your achievements. Hell there's even an achievement for using the cheat codes. So cheat away.......

Wow, I knew this game got some low reviews but I found it mostly enjoyable. Granted I'm a big Superman fan so that's probably why. Definitely not the best 360 game out there... but FAR from the worst.

Yeah I think the 10,000 miles and lifting achievements are pretty outrageous. (I'm actually in the process of getting the stupid 10,000 mile one right at this moment. I almost tossed my controller trying to get the joysticks just how i wanted them:uzi:)

but overall I've had some fun, flying around is cool, but the game does get monotonous: fight some enemies, fight some enemies, put out a fire, boss. rince and repeat. boring, but I think I can tough it out for the 1000.:woop:

I'm in the midst of playing it right now. Borrowed from a friend and was hesitant when I first put it in. I got the mini-games and kittens out of the way at the beginning and now I can enjoy the storymode and it's not bad at all imo.

I too have some sort of achievement OCD. I never thought of it that way before. Someone who has kicked the habit should start a support group cause I don't think I could do it on my own. It blows

You would think after you beat the game they would allow you to turn crimes on or off. (Like Crackdown) i have 30 more kittens to go and even with the guide some of them are still hard as fuck to find and then when you do find them you have to go fight some stupid robots. and there's no way i'm restarting the game to refind all those stupid things.

I gotta say, not the greatest game, but not all that bad either. I do think the achievements are a bit nuts. 100 kittens are a lot to find without a guide, the 10,000 flying miles is way too much, it should be closer to around 2,500 miles.

I think the story needed some better writing, it had little to do with the movie, but over all, it's easy 1000 achievements thanks to some pointers here online, and not a bad game for one play through. I doubt I ever pick this one back up.

I will be getting this game tomorrow. Mid you,. its not that I want to, its simply because Future Shop randomly decided to bundle it whit Enchanted Arm as a part of there Boxing day sale... Anyway, I am just hopping that Superman Returns isn't to dreadful... Especially since I am not a Superman fan whatsoever (I haven't even seen the movie...).

No truer words have been spoken than in this thread. WTF is up with the dragons and blimps is this 1940 or King Arthur's time period. Where do robots fall into that time period? If your going to make a game pick a time period and stick with it. I can barley stomach 15 minutes of this game at a time, between this and Xmen I feel the need to puke every half hour I'm playing. Don't just love getting games as gifts!
These blimps are pissing me off, do I have to save all 3 or just one. When I blow King Arthur's dragons away they come back so wtf the point?

It had the potential to be amazing. But they screwed the pooch on that one. Then again, it is EA.

Well, I've read all of the opinions in here and have decided to pick it up 2nd hand tomorrow after work. I tried out the demo and I liked it, so I shall devote some time tot his at the weekend.

Thought it was the best Superman games to date - that sure isn't saying anything. The city of Metropolis is amazing! Actually thought the controls were decent and the superspeed was cool. Seemed like so much time went into designing the city, but the devs were rushed to meet a release date, so missions just went out the window.

The final achievements were pure garbage. 10k miles? I finished the game and barely flew 2k!!! Thank God for plug and play and rubber bands. At least I finished off the 12 hrs playtime during this.

Yet another potentially great game down the toilet.

You're exactly right, Fonkey Monkey, I'm at 570 as we speak. This is one of the dullest games I've ever played. There are like 4 bad guys and you just keep fighting them over and over and over. Then the last part is... fighting all of them again over and over. The city looks cool from above but the people and cars looks so crappy. Puts me to sleep...
