in order to use this site while i worked (i'm a pizza delivery driver) i'd have to wait for a real long run to the north-western part of our delivery area and then drive about 7 miles past that after i drop off the pies. park, run inside, flip on computer, hit link, scroll through site, set up what i want done, then run back to car. drive back to store taking about 95 minutes on a 40 minute run............. just not enough time to do so logicly =-( =-( =-(

I'm on and off all day at work. I do accounting related activities in my own office so even if someone does come in i have plenty of time to minimize the screen as my computer faces away from my door. :)

I don't work currently but when I do, if I return to my previous job, the only websites we can access are the BBC's and Amazon's :(

Just got to work for an anti-spyware company. They can't filter out any sites, because the worst sites are the ones we have to research for infections.

I am on right now as most days unless I get too busy with running tests etc. away from my computer which I am always on as a Senior Software Engineer.

I never feel bad as everyone here does it from everything from Internet Stock trading to looking up Sports scores, etc. It is an unwritten rule here and everywhere I have worked.

But just to be safe, here are the tips that I have used:


Keep plenty of windows open on your taskbar
Have a work-related one handy to switch to <alt><tab>
Learn to type posts fast
Have your monitor facing away from your doorway (although currently I do not so I use the big back method where I hunker down in front of the monitor)
Minimize your browser window (I hide mine inside of MS Visual Studio windows at times)
Use your ears (From years of doing this I can tell when people are walking by or stopping @ my office)
Keep your hands on your keyboard/mouse at all times (don't get caught flat-footed, so to speak)
Set your browser's home page to a work-related website
Click on your home page when not using
Always keep this browser window in the background when you walk away from your desk
Clear your browser history often
Most of all just pay attention and you will be alrightThis is all that I can think of right now, so post some of your methods, I can always use some new ideas! ;)

I put yes, because at school I go into the library and browse the site, and because I don't go to school that much (my dad lets me stay home) so I spend a lot of the time on the computer.

The worst thing happened to me today... I went to work (I'm Military) got online because I work the night shift, and typed in the site address as I do every night. I was all excited about what new posts might be up... and then... it happened. I got the Red Screen of Death... for military people that means the proxy has blocked the site... It was one of the few sites left I could go to and be happy... and now it has been taken from me... sigh... I need to make friends with the Network Admin on this base...:(

I'm logged and bloggin' at work right now which is odd. I'm in Japan and on a military base which has everything and their brother on restricted access. However, somehow they haven't banned this site. Of course no pix show up that route from photobucket (it's restricted) but the core is here and it helps move the day along.

2 more weeks and I'll be in the states and no more bad lag!! Woo hoo! :woop:

The same thing happened with me... but I guess I spent to much time and it registered or something... I have no idea how they chose what sites to block but I think it has to do with user activity... and my activity during work was about 99% of the time. haha

Well, I don't have internet at home so I use it here (at work). I work at a hotel second shift so we get kinda slow. I bring my 360 in and use the VGA adapter and play on a monitor in the back. I spend about 6 hours of my work day on the site and playing XBOX...Kinda like Office Space, I don't give a shit.

I know for a fact that I clock in more hours to the site while at work than anyone here, at least 6 of my 8 work hours are spent right here, pretending I'm cool.

I check this site all the time at school while my teachers are talking about stuff I already know. Thats why I love the psp's ability to bypass a WEP or WPA key.
