In an interview with the UK's Official PlayStation Magazine, Rockstar's creative vice president Dan Houser has effectively said that the Xbox 360 is limiting Grand Theft Auto IV.

Houser was asked:
"On PS3 you've got a guarantee that every machine is going to have a hard-drive and, with Blu-ray, you've got plenty of storage, whereas on Xbox 360 there's no guarantee of a hard-drive and you're working with the DVD format. Does that create limitations?" To which Houser replied "Yep".

Houser continued "To be honest with you we haven't solved all those riddles yet." That's not to say the Xbox 360 is worse to develop for, Houser stated that both are a challenge and have great pleasures and pains.

Xbox 360 gamers need not worry about the game looking worse on their console. Houser said that Rockstar are currently demoing the game to the press running on an Xbox 360.

Could be a problem in the future. I dont think it'll be too big of an issue, but for games like this, we may be lookin at a couple discs opposed to one on the PS3.

Won't hurt the 360 any tho (IMO)..

I hope it doesn't hamper it. Cause think what the next GTA will be like!!

^^ Yes, I'm imagining it. And it makes my downstairs feel all happy. Gonna have to call off work for a week and skip classes when this bad boy comes out!

Edit: Think I misunderstood your post. Lol. Yea, very true. If GTA 4 gives the 360 problems, that could mean trouble for future GTAs :(

I havent played Just Cause, but it cant be nearly as big as GTA4 will be, can it?

Just Cause was open space, no real rich detail like GTA 4, so in terms of data, GTA 4 is a lot bigger.

And yeah Krazie, you misunderstood :biglaugh

well if GTA4 is just NYC, then no doubt just cause is bigger cuz just cause was an entire country

Its not just the size of the area though, its everything. The amount of detail (as Webb said) in GTA4 will shit on Just Cause. Not to mention everything else in the game. The content is going to be out of this world.

And Webb, I dont care if I misunderstood, GTA4 still makes me happy down there :)

It makes us all happy down there :woop:

But I fear for them missing stuff out of the game... Or maybe adding it as downloadable content and charging us at a later date to buy it!!!

fonkey- It may have been an entire country, but it was grass and jungle, moutains and unsubstantive buildings...

GTA is square mile after square mile of rich environment with awesome detail. Add to that a whole city of citizens doing their own thing and a killer soundtrack and you'll find there is NO comparison between the two :)

no doubt, i was just saying that just cause's sheer size was huge. sure there was no detail and only 2 different kinds of cars, but damn it was big:p

I'd pay for it.

I wonder how much DLC they will have for this game. A lot, probably.. Lol..

Fear not. Note he merely says it gives limitations which is just stating the obvious, of course it does. The game is being demo'd solely on the 360, take from that what you will...

Our bet still stands Webbster ;)

I would happily pay alot for the content if it does not fit, this game will own.
