Yeah, i've done two already. It's quite hard to do the first time, but once you get it the next times are alot easier. There is a video of some guy who barly-speek-engrish but shows you it in a MUCH BETTER way than the video you posted. After I saw his video, I did it on my first try after seeing it...

Be prepared to have sore thumbs for the next few days, though. Or, at least flat thumbs. Mine ended up like that, but then again it took me about half an hour of trying before I understood how the first time ;O

It's a trick. Ya heat the book in the oven for a while then for some reason it makes it easier to rip in half. I seen it on TV years ago on some show about explaining how magic tricks are done.

No. It is completely unecessary to heat the book via this method. Simply bend, place your thumbs, and rip.

I'm not really sure how one logically comes across the idea of ripping up a phone book, but I'm glad he did, because it's pretty cool. If my speakers worked I'd try it myself. Is there anything I'm really missing, though? It looks like a pretty good visual demonstration as is.
