View Full Version : Problems with the 15 hour achievement

I realize this is/was discussed in other threads, and I also saw that the last guy got his thread shut down for breaking this question out into a separate thread...I still have questions though, because this specific achievement is the last one I have.

Background: I've completed the game on all five levels, and I know I need cumulative "end of round" times that add up past 15 hours. I've got to be right on the edge of 15 hours.

Here's what I did last night:

I beat the game on HELL, got my 1 point achievement, but the 15 hour still didn't unlock. So I went to stage select and sat on easy level 1 for 20 minutes and completed the level...nothing, and it kicked me back to start screen. So I'm thinking (and reading here) that stage select is probably not the best way to do this, and I decide to just sit on Level 1 starting a "new" game (by using "continue"). So when I start up, it gives me no option as to what difficulty I want (because I just beat it on HELL, maybe the game assumes I want to replay that difficulty mode), I work my way all the way to the last walnut head, kill him, sit there for 2 hours and 20 minutes, complete the level, and I get nothing.

My question is basically this: If I truely start a new game...on easy, will I be adding to the time I've already invested (so maybe I need another hour or two)? Or will it reset the clock completely, and I need to let this run for 15 hours?

Thanks, and I hope I elaborated enough for this thread to be remain open.

Does this not explain it? It does imply the total play time from all your games played counts towards it but i may be wrong.

Total Play Time of 15 Hours 99
Between playing the game over, and over, and over you should have this nailed easily. However if you want it quicker all you need to do is start a game on easy, kill the first three guys and then rubberband the controller to keep Alicia moving. I’ve found it easiest to move her to the right side of the building on the right and have her walking into the fence. Then go to sleep wake up and end the level. DO NOT DIE. The game only counts the time between checkpoints and ending the game. So if you die before you reach a checkpoint or end the game all that time will be lost. That’s why I suggest doing it this way because as you walk around the next corner you get a checkpoint. Do this a couple nights and the achievement is yours.

I wont lock this thread in hopes someone will answer your question. Don't expect other mods that have had to deal with this over and over again to be so forgiving (Wreckon this one's up to you mate).

Thanks for the response, and here are 2 reasons I wanted to know if starting a new game added to the cumulative time of 15 hrs.

1) It's a rental and due back today or tomorrow (I don't have the recipt here).
2) I only have a wireless controller, so it shuts off after 15 minutes whether there's a rubber band on it or not. (I found this out while grabbing the 10,000 miles flown Superman returns achievement).

I was very surpised I didn't get this throughout the course of playing the game all the way through 5 times. Thanks again for the help, but I'm just very reluctant to hit that "start a new game" menu option if it's going to erase my cumulative time (as I said above, I've got to be right on the edge of 15 hours).

Update: I went home at lunch and unlocked this. Starting a new game on easy after you've completed everything else does not reset your cumulative game time.

I killed the first 3 guys, let her stand there while I fixed lunch, came back and finished the level without dying and added about 22 minutes to the game time and it unlocked.

Add me to the 1000 club.:Bounce:

Sorted! Locking this up before Wreckon sees it and destroys half of Cloud City with one foul flick of the force.

You'll have to sign up to the 1000 club using this thread (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7007), but you need to have 100 posts and be a member for a month before you're eligible.
