how to stop/kill ghosts?

how do i kill the ghosts that seem to resist all weapons?

You go to the grave digger and he gives you a quest to get a sword that hurts them. You find the parts in the archway things that you can destroy and they give you items. I haven't found all the parts yet. Then you just go back to him and he makes it for you I think

Sparkles' attacks kill ghosts easily.

yup, the next day i had my wife play with me and sparkles puts em down!..as a matter of fact he hits way harder on his ranged attack for all foes not resist to magic!

need to get a quest sword that hurts them, i managed to slowly kill a few with a normal weapon at one point when i didnt know about this took for ages though

just like everyone else said, you need to do the quest for the Sparkle Sword from the Gravedigger.

They're also weak to any other attack that has the Nature element attributed to it, I had already dropped the quest sword before doing the sidequest where you fight a bunch of summoned ghosts in the Sunken Town but I killed them off with poison bolts. I think the only thing the quest's sword is needed for is actually picking up the cursed bones in the town, DeathSpank will say an evil force is preventing him from touching the bones until you have it.
