The paranoia topic - list your eggs that never were!

Now they've all been found, I think it'd be funny to list all the egg locations we were banging our heads on that turned out not to be after all!

Here's the ones were looking at...

1) Under the glass dome, there's a brain slug hanging from a crate. This is the only time a crate is in the ceiling, and there's also a glow to the left that looked like and egg. We were almost positive this was one...

2) In the rain machine level, in the top right corner of the frog-thing cave there's a glow that looks like and egg, but it's probably just background with an oval of reeds framing it.

3) The cog that produces crates below the lever that reverses their direction has a bump on one of the teeth. As no other cog has, we found this maddening too!

4) There's an insect in the dark cave that keeps running away, then coming back to the same position if you move the crate all the way to the left and jump while on top. We thought this may fly you to an egg...

5) A few of us tried all egg, no death runs, and after a lot of wasted time, someone did it, and of course, nothing happened.

All of these, some of us spent hours, upon hours, upon hours experimenting on. Fortunately, the bubbles egg was also on that list, and that produced the final standard egg of the game (before the ZDR) so at least some of it paid off!

I played the game so much and so obsessively that I announced that I was on the trail of an egg in the sewers...which was an achievement egg that I had long since collected.

After you make it rain and you have to hang from the chain to fill the pit with water, I was convinced for a time that I could climb on top of the gutters.

I feel like the area up from that achievement egg, when you climb the ladder and jump to the left, is awfully suspicious. It's nothing, all told, but why did the devs bother to put it in there? Sure, just to mess with us, that's a possibility (and is the answer), but it didn't seem likely at the time.

Also, the boat "sinking" and the extended chain really seems like something should go along with that. Those who created the draining of the lake effort to support the dark matter egg hoax picked a good element of the game around which to center it.

I thought that an egg was up on the pipes in the very bright area where the fly takes you. I thought that it looked like a fly from below the ground could somehow fly you up there with a different flight pattern and get you to that area where I thought the egg was at. After an hour of frustration I decided I'd just let somebody else figure it out, haha. But I did attempt to find a light switch! ^_^

The pit under the HOTEL sign. I fell off that arrow countless different ways, hoping to get it to turn mid-air or survive the fall so I could reach the ropes at the bottom.

Jimmy Woods and I stumbled upon this last night and was very suspicious of it, we were up till around about 5 AM trying to figre it out unfortunately.

The location is where you have to get the tire from the left to the right side. Below on the conveyor belt where the tire fits in the gaps one of them is bigger than all the others, the one directly behind it is smaller than all the others, and the rest are the same size. I think we both tried countless combinations in order to the "egg" to appear. In that same area there is 15 tires pictured in the background. So I tried a lot of different combinations of 15 such as getting the tire in the smaller gap 15 times in a row. Lets just say this game seems to have made me a little crazy. But I truly believed we were on to something. Congrats to the top 10 it was really fun working with some of you.

It reached a point where you had to try things that you thought no one else would try. My 2 main focuses were the discrepancies in the patterns in the cogs and the tire conveyor belt. I don't understand why either of those were there. Other than that, I didn't really see any clues to hint at there being another egg. All of them had subtle hints except for the 2nd Hotel Sign.

Haha. I was extremely paranoid about many of the spots already mentioned on here.
My main idea was obviously to do a no death run with all eggs and after I did that and nothing happened :(, I decided to go through and look at suspicious places. I focused on the dot on the cog and the tire conveyor belts.
After those the final place I checked was the weird light that is right after the ball you push to the right and it floats into that box as the water rises. I thought the light might have something to do with the brain worm.
