How to get the AI to attempt a throw?

The last 2 stars I need are the ones where you have to perform 2 throw evasions... and it's pretty much impossible. I can't get the AI to even attempt a throw, unless we are around a crash site (but crash evasions don't count). So... how do I get the AI to even attempt to throw me?

The levels are the one where you're trunks fighting goten and the other is ginyu force vs. zarbon and dodoria.

I don't think you can force them to grapple really..but I can't even do a grapple break lol so consider yourself lucky there.
