Thanks for the link, i read the whole article & what you say is true i can't believe it the actual forest of death exam online wow. Sounds pretty hard to me since if you lose even one fight you have to start again. I'm not sure if i like that concept.

I don't think you can help people with this, not with the way it's set up

Every player you fight is random picked and you cant join with more than yourself.
Basically how it is with forest of death, to unlock the achievement of passing it with whatever character you need to win 5 Matches in a row.

You even lose on the last match and 'BAM!' your back to searching for a partner for match 1 again.

(And yes the points you gained from the matches before you lose (or win) stack *whoever asked that and in whatever topic in here*
so as long as you have enough time on your hands you'll end up getting the Genin, Chuunin, and Jounin)

To sum this up.....We can't help eachother at all. But at least theres no achievement to kill 10,000 people like Gears of war.

Do you get any points just for playing? Or do you get 0 for losing the first match? Just wondering because that's probably what will happen to me most of the time when I get around to trying the exam.

Nope, no points for just trying.

Winning the first match: 10 Points
Winning the second match: 50 Points
Winning the third match: 250 Points
Winning the fourth match: 250 Points
Winning the Final match: 1000 Points

Choose to Gamble your point's gained if you win all your 5 matches and you will restart the exam with 1000 point's each win, although i think if you don't make it through all 5 rounds again i don't think you get any

Yes, sadly I suck as well with the fighting. Maybe I just need to find someone I'm good with. So far have only been using Naruto since I've only messed with the single player. Lost my first match in the Exam and am afraid to try again lol

For Good People at Flipping around and using the replacement technique i suggest Sasuke and Rock Lee.

For just generally good, but slow...I suggest Garaa.

But ALOT of people go Sasuke, Either it's his Popularity of being the Emo King or people are best with him. Since i have fought with Sasuke's a lot i personally think he IS fastest, At spinning all over the place while kicking and punching anyway.

Anybody who isn't Naruto, Sasuke, Rock Lee or Garaa is Trying to get the achievements to pass the exam with the character they are.

Zabuza or Sakura and they're definately trying for the achievement.

I went her (trying to get the achievement) but she doesn't have any good combo's...and like Orochimaru her uppercut is to disappear under the ground and come up again, which takes longer than most other characters.

yeah my first try online i played about 6 matches and lost every one. played all as sakura determined to get a win. my first match wasn't bad i narrowly lost to rock lee (but the guy controlling him was playing very conservatively blocking a lot and doing minor combos not buttong bashing)

i think i just need to practice more and actually learn some combos. it seems to be no use just going into a fight mashing buttons and hoping for the best unless you're playing as a cheap character. i hear a lot of people complain about rock lee's and garra's. but i got a different chracter opponent each time.

Yeah people who can control rock lee are quite a nuisance, Gaara Doesn't exactly need controlling that's why i like him :p

I also need to learn combo's though, basically i just press X and Y randomly and its a Plus if i get a knockdown.

Is there any time to talk to your opponent before they beat the crap out of you? Anyone think that odd hours boosting would have any chance of success? I'm more concerned about the completing the forest of death exams with all the characters rather than the ranks as someone pointed out, you can get those eventually.

If anything, if you enter a match against someone going for the completing achievement with a crap character, you could let them win.

He's right though, this is doable with most characters, just train all the combos with the char where you gonna do the exam with, practice them a bit against the comp so you know which combos are the handiest and go for it online. Pretty easy if you get a feel for the game, you should just do it with your own skill instead of trying to ask pple to let you win (lots of them aren't wearing a headset anyway).

Well, amazingly, I versed the same person in the Forest of Death Exam Online 4 times in a row, he kicked my ass each time too (I kinda gave up looking for a FOD match after the 4th one). AND, I even avoided him as a player (the 1st time he beat me), and I STILL got matched up to him, so I think it's possible to boost. It's sort of like boosting on EA's skate. You have to start searching for a player at the same time as the other person and pray that you'll get matched up.

On a side note: I don't like it how some jutsus are really cheap, like the moving-based ones (fang over fang, etc). It's pretty damn cheap, I blame the developers. All you have to do is make one cursor follow your opponent and the other just to stay put where you think your opponent's going to move. ALWAYS, perfect. D:< They totally did not balance the characters out well, as far as jutsus go.

Well uh actually, you can give yourself an unlimited amount of chances to pass a forest of death stage by Standbying, like standbying in Halo 2, it's sort of cheap. All you have to do is, if you lose, at the second the KO appears on the screen, you press the standby button (QUICKLY) on your modem, wait until the screen freezes, and when the screen moves again you hit the standby button again (QUICKLY). It's worked for me, and when I was in the last stage (to get the achievement for your character), I lost and I tried this, and I actually got the achievement of my opponent's character. It's very weird and apparently your opponent's win is registered.

I finished the the game... all side missions and made 100% of the villagers happy...does any one knows how to get that one last unhappy villager happy...is a lady sweeping by the right side of the main entrance (if you are coming out of the village that is) is this possible is is it another glitch in the game???

You can't really boost for this game just FYI for some recent posts and I don't think I can explain the modem glitch. Since it's a glitch, I don't think your allowed to exploit it on the forums here because I was going to but was highly suggested not to. All I can say is search the internet, you'll easily find it.

I can't really think of a way to boost. Even if you have a friend who will just forfiet on the get-go, at the most you'll knock 2 matches out of the way. As soon as the Tower of Death comes into play, your boosting partner is still in the forest and can't help you. Unless you get a big group and organise who lets who pass before them, it' might be possible, but aLOT of organising and working out. Mind you, if people finish getting thier character achie's, maybe it'd be easier with them solely playing to let others they know up the tower.

At the very least you'd need a forum and everyone wearing headsets to make sure theyre both on the same plan.

.. Then it quickly went back to the "RoaN FoD rules". Y'know, with cheap shots and such. I fought a Sarutobi with a turbo controller - even when I was on the ground from a combo it was flashing in the same place with the same moves like a tornado. What a jerk, hah?

And if your going "WHAT" over the turbo, it sure looked it to me. Theres only one Turbo 360 controller too, and Microsoft stamps their seal of approval on it. Sure its probably got fire print saying "Dont use on Live play" but hey, just pretend you didn't see it.

Okay, I just decided to play the Forest of Death and I lost the first Match to a certain someone. I played again right after and played against the exact same person (same gamertag and character). The point is, as you progress through the Matches, are you necessarily matched up with people on the same match as you?

And if not, I propose a small cheat, to which I'm not sure works yet. Like on Halo 3, you can change the language on the console, but the main issue is, will the matchmaking system really care about language?

EDIT: You know what? Forget I said anything. Doesn't work. </3 xP

Yeah, changing languages or something like "Prefer pkaying with (name)" doesnt work, but yeah. If your in the forest, Your oponent could be on either the first or second match. If your in the tower, then your paired against any and everyone in the tower. Sometime's Ive played my 3rd match against someone playing their 7th. Hardly fair..

Ive tried on quite a few occasions (since release until now on and off) to boost the online achievments with my friend, and there's just no way. even today there are enough people still playing online that you "might" get a match or two against your friend, but there's NO way your gonna get 5 in a row.

As of right now the only online achievments i can see boosting are the "rank" ones, by getting into a match with your friend and letting them beat you and vice versa, since you get "some" points every win you get, regardless of if its in a row.

would take you an aweful long time, but you could eventually get those ones.

as for the character ones, i havnt found a way yet to get matched up, even at 3-4 in the am, pm, whenever, always people online playing (and 85% of them are STILL cheap as hell, even though people have been complaining about the cheapness since day 1, 4 months ago! lol. ill even sit there and let people beat me if i dont get into a boost match with my friend, and never even moving or blocking or anything, not even once, and they'll still cheap move you to death, its like the only way some people can play. lol. sad.)

I'm new and don't really know what boosting really is, but if it means try to give each other free wins, I'm definitely down to do that. GTA 4 is out, and all my friends are on it (I'm assuming everyone is), so it's better to try and get free wins off me sooner than later. it involves 1 person going for the achievement with a character they want and everyone else, id say 8 people for arguements sake, will help the booster get to the top. all of the helpers will be garaa as he can easily crush any remaining players and doesnt require a huge amount of skill to play as him. im not sure if its best to let 1 person get all of thier achievements and not cause confusion about who should go up or make it fair and have everyone involved get 1 achievement in turn and continue like that.

if anyone would like to help me test this, send me a fr and a message saying you would like to boost in naruto as ill probably forget. we will try with 9 people and tweak the number of helpers till it works

Forest Of Death achievements are impossible to boost so don't waste your time trying to boost this..the game will match u up against random players, not against your friends all 5 battles..once u reach the tower u will fight against another guy that reached the tower too so the guy is a good player..the FoD achievements are hard to get but not impossible..

what u have to do is go back till they attack u, and when the other player attack you use B button or sidestep too lol patient is needed against sidesteppers
