Failing Vocals on Beginner

I did not think you could fail playing on beginner. Is this a glitch or something? I am using my xbox headset as the mic. Could that be the issue?

I even put the mic in front of a fan and I still failed. I do not get it.

Any suggestion would be great.

yeah samething happened to me in ghwt make sure your fan blows into your mic

The only way you could be failing is if your mic is not picking up the sound/air from the fan because pitch doesn't matter on beginner. Stupid question, but I have to ask - is your headset muted? If not, can people hear you during in-game chat or parties? If they can't, then something is wrong with your mic.

Does it really work using the headset in GH? Or is it just in Rock Band u can't

Just sounds like an issue with the way the fan is blowing into the headset, or rather, make sure the headset is picking it up - it seems simple enough, but of course, the headset isn't designed the same way as the mic - but the headsets are kinda funky in the first place, so just a matter of getting it right.
