I know you gotta assume this is basicly a microsoft only forum, but come on! the Ps3 is looking mighty fine, and the november delay is acually good in my opinion cause i be saving up for a wicked sweet bundle. ( preferebly a $2000

Oh, and so what if sony is borrowing from microsoft? companies take what others have done, and improve them all the time.

I don't really think any one that I've seen here is really hating on PS3 or Revo. Some opinions are different then others but other than that, no big deal.

I can't imagine why anyone would want one system to be end all be all when all the systems have really great games in their own right.

well ken the playstation overlord did state that the ps3 would be expensive and would not be aimed at home users whatever that means

i think sony must surely at least charge £350....anything lower would kill them, theyre already going to lose millions and millions on the launch

ur absolutely right. i read an article not too long ago in The Washington Post that said it was gonna cost around $900 to make. if the raw materials cost 900 bucks, sony is either gonna have to lose money each console sold and sell it for like 500 (which is still RIDICULOUS) or theyre gonna sell it somehwere close to 1000 dollars. basically, sony is digging their own grave with all the blue ray dvd shit. i mean, its cool, but if it costs too much then its not worth it.
plus - now that its being released in novemer, halo 3 is gonna blow it out of the water anyway

- Dev kit specs fix as of today (
- Final PS3 development kits will be sent to developers in June
- 10.000.000 BD-ROMS manufacturing capability per month at cost around same as 2-layer DVD
- Every PS3 game will be on a Blu Ray Disc
- Price will not be less than 50.000YEN approx: $425USD)
- PS3 will have HDMI support from launch
- Sony plans to produce 1 million PS3s a month; 6 million PS3s for FY2006 (by the end of March 07)
- basic online service free, no details yet (probably match making like PC GameSpy)
- Full backwards compatibility, hi-res and texture filtering for all titles (kind of what the Xbox 360 does to Halo)
- The online service will be working off of GameSpy technology

If PS3 has enough games that I "need" to play maybe I'll pick one up. But I doubt it. I never got a PS2 and I was fine with my XB and GC.

I'm a bit of a graphics enthusiast, and I like the highest possible visual quality. That's why I'm buying a PS3. HDMI is a very high quality video input, and fortunately for me, my LCD has DVI/HDCP which is the same thing as HDMI (just seperate audio). I also have a 1080p monitor, so I'm looking forward to using the PS3's Blu-Ray drive. Not to mention the home server stuff, keyboard mouse support, the ability to use your own servers for online gaming (just like the PC users get). I can't think of a good reason for me not to get one.

On that spec list for ps3 release that was written out above, the 60gig hd may not come included with the console....incase anyone hasnt seen that in the articles doing the rounds at the moment

but all games will need a HD to run.....

added expense at least with the 360 you had a choice on wether to pay extra for a HD

Um, their saying all of their games may not be backwards compatible. For example, maybe only 50% of them will be, or it could be as high as 95%.

I really doubt that Sony will have a global release for the PS3. There's definitely going to be quite a while between the Japanese and European launches because we always get screwed over by Sony. PSP launch anyone? And then the price will be inflated here as well.

i too have my doubts, as microsoft have shown a worldwide launch is very hard to pull off with zero problems.

also as of yet we have seen zero real game footage for the ps3, the mgs4 vid is all well and nice but it is more like a tech demo than anything else, i doubt the game play will look that great, but we shall see

if they do pull of the launch i shall give them a worthy round of applause...but i doubt it.

I bet PS3 does ALOT better with the worldwide launch simply because of the PS fanbase and the fact its coming with Blu Ray :bow:
Rumors are that its not going to cost more than $500 USD which wont hurt either.

I dont know about anyone else here but ill b preordering mine as soon as they will take them and will begin making payments on the shhyytt :D
