They look really confusing?

Hmmm, they do look confusing now. Maybe they will be more clear when time gets closer. I was expecting other things like possibly "kill so many enemies" or something to that matter.

So are the Books considered different story lines that you go through or do you create new characters for each one? hmmmmm

I think that the only books that pertain to you creating your character are the first three, and that the other books have nothing to do with creating a character but simply just ones dropped during battles which give you achievements

I agree they do look confusing but when things are more clearer i have a feeling they will be too easy.

In the demo, you use the books to learn how to command different unit types. These achievements are probably earned when you collect a book and unlock a new unit type to use.

Yes, this probably means you get 150 points for creating a character. This very well could win the easiest achievement award in next year's awards.

So since all the books are dropped at random, this could theoretically be a 20 minute 1,000 or a 3 month 1,000. It could really go either way, it's all luck

Think you'll find that will be The Simpsons game: "Press start to play"

I just saw that. Yeah, that's pretty easy.

In my defense, the actual point values seem to carry weight and if we were to calculate this on a points-per-button press basis; Bladestorm still wins out. Hit 5-6 buttons to make a character and save the game initially is still worth 30 points/press, 6 times as much as the Simpsons game. :p

Yeah i think these achievements look easy and also confusing.

I was pretty confused when I first saw these. I think this is probably going to be one that I'll wait to see a review for first. Maybe a rental? I like the idea behind the game though.

I think the secret ones will be for winning for France and England.

Impressive..., the game's not out yet and we're already screaming "easy!". We should take it easy..., IMO. Let's wait.
Everyone says everything is easy nowdays. And Omega Achievements aren't usually "that easy". See Warriors Orochi - not that easy, IMO.

The achievements don't seem to be difficult but more time consuming.

the achievements are mostly get the books which mean u get a new class type of unit to command. theres like 16 ish not to sure :P but u get them from dropings off the base commanders. its not at random chance. as the elephants u dont get till the last 2missions of the game u dont get the book till then. it works by 10% chance on each base commander if u killed the type that u want to drop. but it also works like this...
say u kill 5swords
4bowman
and 1 halbard
and u only have the sword and bow class avable
the 10% chance wud then give anouther % chance on what u killed so u wud have a 1/100 chance of u getting the book for halbard if u killed 5sword people 4 bow and 1 halbard. and that was taken from a guide on gameFAQs

btw this game is a easy 1k well not easy easy. but u can get 1000 in a good full days worth of playing (u get around 900-990 in just playing) depending on luck. and u dont get 150 for making a char. the book has to drop. not be able to use it. u can use swords and bows at the start. but u still need a book to drop. btw the more books that drop of the same type the more u can upgrade that class with skill points. but normaly on the first level or 2 u will of got 200points from the books. happy hunting =D

actually you do get 150 right off the bat horses bows and swords.also ive heard from someone who supposedly has the secret achievements that1 is the gun and the other is to get the sapper book which requires 100% upgrade in the 3 you get in beginning and aprox. 70%+ in every other class

matthewmcg360
11-11-2007, 01:24 PM
yeah you get 150 points when you save for the first time. also my guess is that the 2 secret achievements are for increasing your characters fame level.

Alright, so I'm hearing mixed things. What is the deal with the achievements?? Do they all come through normal game progression?? Is it possible to "miss" any of these?? If you miss something, can you go back, or do you have to restart the whole thing?? About how long for all of them?? I'm a big fan of KOEI, so I'm played all the Dynasty and Samurai games on PS2 and the 360. I played Kessen as well.

If you like the Koei games then forget about the achievements and play this game for the entertainment factor.

But if the points are causing you to stay away then fear not. You get your first 150 within 5 minutes of starting a new game when you set up your character and you'll probably get another 100 points in the next hour.

So far I'm about 8 hours in and have 550 points. But I'm not rushing things, I'm enjoying the ride and trying out lots of different troop types. I've spent quite a bit of time messing about at the equipment screen arming my troops.

This is tempting me to put the game in my drive!! Once i've had a good play with it, would you guys want to see a review for the main site?

I really doubt anyone plays Bladestorm for anything but achievements it is a chore to play, it really isnt fun.

What are you talking about, this game is fantastic fun. Once you get going into the story and unlock many more units there is a huge amount of strategy involved with what units counter another, how to use particular unit skills you your advantage ect.

The enemy and ally AI is actually good this time around, they dont just stand static and not really fight like in the DW games, they get involved, capture bases, join you on the march ect

you obviously just played the demo and maybe a few levels of the game.... this game takes a HUGE step up once you start getting into massive battles, harder difficulties, countering enemies, and leveling your units/character!

This game is a straight diamond in the rough... and also you cant base your facts on the shitty fighting of your maion character, because the game is not based off that but off of strategy and the strength of your units!

now that I am further into the game I can see that the game isn't all that bad, I just found it very dull at the beginning but the story is quite good and the larger battles are quite fun.

For the secret achievement, i have unlocked one yesterday, it's called Book Of Explosives. You get it after doing Christine de Pizan sidequest mission. I'm still working to get the second secret achievement. Maybe when you get the 12 gems or when you restore the broken shield. (I'm not sure, but i didn't saw any new units after the rifles, and i think the bombers are included in the book of explosives, have to check that.)

Is anyone willing to make an achievement guide for this game? I'm going to pick this one up sooner or later as it looks interesting and might be some easy points.

Im going to write one today when I get home, I may not have all the achievements but I know when you aqquire them etc. But it's far from easy i've played 25 hours and only have 600.

When did you get that side quest? Does she approach you or is it just a contract with request to pick?

Is it possible to miss it and not be able to go back to it?

I believe it's a Gossip event so you usually wont miss it after being made aware of it from Karen.

Do they say if its a random find or another event like for the explosives (which I now have)?

You need to get your Swords / Spears / Horses to 100% and everything else to 70%, at this point you can get the last book

wait are you suggesting that you know this is the requirements or is it based on your experience from playing and you believe this is what you did to get it?

woot it seems it is true, i got it after i got at least 70% in all the books and it came immediately after the mission. the memo given in the diary states being recognized by the divine archer so it might be 100% bows instead of horse or maybe both as i had both maxed already.

Why does no one have 1000 for this game, according to mgc.net?

Because it's long and most people don't have the secret books, they just got the info from people who got them on the PS3 version.

Thanks. Considering getting this game, but seeing that 950 mademe think there were glitched achievements.

I can confirm that to get the Engineering book, you must get 100% in the three main books (Swords, Bows and Horses) and then 70% in all other books. After I did that, I played one more battle and then the Avatar of War visited me at the tavern and gave me the Engineering book.

Also, I had not yet completed all of the "!" missions. I did finish the game but post-game I hadn't finished all of those extra required missions. I have read that eventually you end up with a "Special Battle", and its possible you can no longer get the Engineering book if you get to that point but someone else would have to confirm that. I'd suggest getting all books above 70% and the main 3 to 100% before doing all of the ! missions after you "finish" the game.

Nice! Congrats on 1000!

I'm still considering checking this out, but it seems like it'll be way longer than a rental.

Maybe I'll pick it up when I get KUF next week.

Does it make any difference whose contracts you take early on in the game? IE do you need to pick a side and do mostly their quests or can you do some French quests and some English quests. Will it make any difference in the story if you don't take a particular side?

Hi all

Anyone found the 2 secret achievements?
Are the only that i still miss :(

ps just read now the above mess :P
thanks :D

its delicious

I would have liked to have seen some achievements based on Combo kills, like scoring 100/150/200 kill combos. Achievements based on the number of points scored in a particular mission would have been nice. I would have liked achievements for killing every special Leader on the battlefield during a battle.

I agree. It would be nice to have some more variety in the achievements. I have done some achievements from this game. But the fact that the others will take quite some time and the monotomy of it is putting me off. I think I won't be touching this game in the near future.
