Has anyone figured out how to get the manic roller, quick turner, and speedy roller achievements? I use dash ans quick turn all the time while playing but not sure on the exact way to get the achievements.

I got the quick turner achievement, and all I did was after I hit the goal, of the the size the king wanted - I had about 45 seconds I just stayed in one place and keep quick turning, back and forth - back and forth. I did that till the level was over and got the achievement. It has to be that you have to do a quick turn X number of times, but I don't have a clue what that number is....

I got the Maniac Roller when I was playing the 1st stage *Non Moon* on Eternal I just kept bashing into stuff because the Katamari got so big. I'm thinking it's around 50 times.

I'm pretty sure one of the 80 point secret achievements will be to get 100% of the items, since it has 20/40/60/80 in the normal list.

Maybe playing 100 online games? Winning a certain amount of online games? Getting more cookies?

The achievements seem to repeat, so I don't think there will be many "new" ones in the secret list, just bigger versions of the other achievements.

And How do you unlock "Eternal Mode?

You unlock eternal mode on a level by getting 100 points on the level. From my experimenting, points seem to come from three things:

1. How quickly the goal was reached.
2. Final size of the katamari.
3. How much of the katamari's final composition was your "goal" item type.

I haven't bothered figuring out how much weight is given to each one.

I'm just an anus away from having 100 points on every level, so I'll be updating when I know whether or not doing this is an achievement.

Also: when you finish the last mini-game with a good score, you unlock a harder version of it where some of the larger things shoot at you, and getting hit by the bullets makes you lose pieces of your katamari. I think I got something like 625m on the normal level and 150 or so on the hard level - it really is significantly harder, so I'm guessing getting another 500m + score will either unlock an achievement or... just be really, really hard. And, again, I'll update when I know.

Finally: there were rumors on another (very, very unreliable) message board about an achievement for getting a high score on the pool game when you fail a level. This sounds stupid, but also really easy to test since the score tops out at 5 digits, meaning leaving it running for 2 hours should get you an answer. I'm at 64k as I type this, so I have an answer by the time I'm done walking my dog.

Any Tips from anyone as to get 100 points? I seem to either suck at this or just am oblivous but I think the highest score I got was 83 points. And I thought I was doing pretty good....

Just play through the level a few times. You'll find certain starting positions work better for you than others, you'll get to know areas that help you bulk up faster when you reach certain sizes, and you'll just become more familiar with the layout of the world.

I've got 100 points on every level and there is no achievement for doing so.

I've got 400m on the hard level of the last mini-game, and there is no achievement for doing so.

And I found a picture of somebody else who got 99999 on the pool "mini-game," and there is no achievement for doing so.

I'm about stumped. I'll keep going for cousins and presents, but beyond a 100% collection, I don't have any more good ideas about what those other secret achievements are going to be.

I'm thinking they are just bigger version of the other achievements. Play 100 online? Maybe even win a certain number online? Get more cookies online?

They could be something silly like getting all your cousins to dance with you on that bottom left planet, so someone will have to test that out when they find them all.

On the first level (the tutorial, Egg School or whatever) I actually got a 120 point score. Is this just for that level or what? I literally rolled up everything possible except for maybe 5 puzzle pieces. Took a while, but I had a 50cm7mm Katamari.

I recieved 120/100 on the egg school level as well, so maybe one of the achievements is getting 120 (or above 100) on all levels? Maybe when someone is able to get this we will find out..thanks for the info on the pool game and mini game..saved me some time trying to get high scores in those :P

There is one for doing the dash attack more than 10 times in online vs mode, right? I swear I've done this a bunch of times and not recieved and achievement for it...

AngrySalad: check the achievement guide..I think you are getting confused with the speedy roller achievement, which is given for using the dash a certain number of times within a level. Just open a level on time attack and dash, crash, and quick turn for about a minute each and you'll definitely get all 3 achievements.

I have been poking around the global katamari leaderboards..one of the 40G secret acheivements is the kings face surrounded by a yellow, orange, and red glow with "100" underneath in yellow text. This must be either 100% item completion or 100 on all levels..I'm guessing the latter as the 80% completion achievement nets you 40G already.

Present #2 in the Chateau level is in a small valley next to the mushroom forest. I still need present #1 in the chateau level, hope someone finds it soon.

I really hope it's not 100 on all levels... I've done that, and the only issue would be that there's one level where I got 80 points for a ~60k katmari, then 100 points for a ~50k katamari that had ocean items as the majority. The 80 shows up as my highest score, but eternal mode is unlocked and you can go through the best planets and find my 100.

It would appear that someone on GameFaqs got one of the 40 pt secret achievements for 50 hours play time. I have no idea if it's all actual game mode, or if you could leave the game on while on the home planet, but tonight I will sleep with my xbox on.

Taking less than 2:00 on Mars will give you 120 points.

I can't imagine there being too many more levels where getting 120 points is going to be any fun...

I'm also willing to bet if there's 50h played (40G?), there will be 100h played for 80G. Most Japanese games have the hours played achievements. The other one I'm doing right now (War Tech: Senko No Ronde) has 1h, 10h, 50h, 100h, all of which are secret achievements... so it's a good bet.


EDIT: Well, I can now confirm that one of the 80G ones is 100% - someone hacked the game and unlocked all 1250 points. If you look at his card, a secret 80G achievement is right at the top of all the other % achievements. I have sent him a message asking if he would let me know what the other secret achievements are. He probably won't respond, but hopefully.

I beat the game (I thought?) I saw the credits and everything but I didn't get the All Requests Achievement? Is there something I missed I guess? I thought I just had to play through the game to retrieve that achievement.

After the last level he gives you another request. Once you get back to the Princedom you have to do the Chateau (next to Lady Luck Casino).

I would be curious to see as to what they are as well, since I can only speculate just as everyone else can. I did check out this guys account, so sad I say to it, takes all the fun and challenge out of actually earning those achievements. Not really sure how someone can find that enjoyable, although I guess he's just doing it to brag to his 2 friends that he has over 200k...

I'm actually trying the "rubber band" trick with this game to see if it is in level, i have it on time attack instead of eternal, so this way i can also see how much accumulated time I have.

This is in the same vein as the somewhat glitched Responsible Roller. If you start an eternal level and quit out immediately, that counts as 1 katamari rolled. You'd probably get it anyway getting a few of the other achievements, but it is what it is. Seems the quickest way to find out if "Roll 200 Katamaris" is one of the secret achievements, too.

Which is of course #1 on the time played leaderboard. So Pants should be among the first to know all of this elusive achievement. (As much as I hope that you can just hang out in Princedom, racking up time; I think that the 50 hours are going to be game time.....:( Hopefully we will know for sure soon.)

Ok, I've done all the time attacks and did all of normal mode. I noticed there wasn't time trials for Chatéau Notre Desir or Roller Roaster. Is there certain times I'm supposed to meet in the time trials to get this unlocked or to just go through them. I don't understand how I did not receive the achievement. Or do I have to get the 100% on each level to get this unlocked? Thanks.

All you have to do is finish the time trials, there is no time requirement. As far as why you didn't get it, just make sure you did all the requests and all the time trials. I got it without a prob, as did other members. Hope you find the missing trial. You also don't need to have 100 on each of them.

Well, I just passed 50h according to my Live Eye and no achievement. I have switched from sitting in the Princedom with my controller off, to sitting in Eternal Mode with my controller on.

A little unfortunate that there aren't really 100 hours or 200 katamaris worth of content in the game. If I get either achievement, it's going to be because I left the system on unattended for another 50 hours or spammed Egg School to hit 200 as quickly as possible.

Though I suppose I've still got ~2% of the collection left to aim for.

As far as I know, I'm having a hard time getting 100% collection, I've been stuck at 95% collected.

I left my game on on an eternal stage, and just as I thought it wasn't going to work, I quit the level, and the achievement popped up. So leaving the game on and controller plugged in on eternal mode gets you the 50 hours and 100 hours achievements, just won't trigger until after you leave the level.

Every Beautiful Katamari's achievements looks too works like that. Presents, Requests, Cousins, etc.


They will all unlock when you quit the levels.

I count too many secret achievements in this thread for them all to be true. There are six, and two are utterly confirmed: 50 Hours and Katamari Perfectionist.

That leaves four, but I'm reading five that are being discussed as reality: 50 Katamaris, 100 Requests, 200 Katamaris, 100% Collection and 100 Hours.

At least one of those must be phony.

Ok I got a 100 score on the Egg School does that count for eternal mode and if so how do I get to eternal mode?

Unlike the other levels, Egg School does not have an eternal mode. Otherwise, when you score at least 100 points on any level, the King will give you the option of choosing Normal, Eternal, or Time Attack when you revisit that level.

Ok, so the most important question that non-Katamari fans have is how long to get the full 1250, and how tough are the achievements overall. Reason I'm asking is Gamefly shipped this to me, so before I put it on my gamercard, I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into. (Achievements seemed pretty easy and the 1250 drew me in, if anyone is wondering why I had it on my Gamefly list)

This game is not an easy 1000. It is pretty fun though. I would put it between the difficulty of Viva Pinata (finding all the cousins and gifts is a bit more frustrating) and Ninty-Nine Nights (not as hard as the all A-Ranking achievement). Once the cousin/gift guides are refined, this game shouldn't be too much of a headache.

You'll get everything aside from that one achievement in a few days if you really plug away at it, but finding 100% of the items will take a long time.

Okay I get what you mean about the achievement discussion, but I think at the very least... the first post in each "Achievement Discussion" thread should have a basic length/difficulty explanation. Like for this game you could say (guessing here) Most of the achievements can be obtained in (X) hours, but the cousins/gifts/100% completion will take a considerable more amount of time. And (Y) and (Z) achievements are actually quite difficult and will require some practice. That is the information I personally look for when browsing the individual game forums. And the same questions do get asked quite a bit. ;) I thought I heard something like this was in the works.

If you've never played Katamari, you're missing out by not playing it. Note that for the 1250, you'll need to purchase the upcoming expansion packs (looks like 1000 points).

100% collection will take a while... I'm about 30 hours in with 98%, but tracking down those few small items will be a pain.

ok I've been reading your posts for awhile, your posts have been a great help, yes the 200 request secret achievement is true, i saw it on someone's tag that plays from japan, u know those kids that are uber good, i also saw some of them got the 1'500'000 achievement on scloss kosmos or whatever, i assume you have to get a 100 on all the other levels before u do it that's what i guess tho lol

also my girlfriend found a trick on the level where u create neptune she says she got to a part where there's a bird and a plank going up and down, when the plank came back down it pushed her through the ground to the other side of the world, she thought it was a glitch but then when it happened she says the computer mentioned something about it, like along the lines of "hey you warped this is a weird occurance" or something along that. she said it happened to her on accident and i personally haven;'t been able to reproduce it. nor did she finish the level so she didn't get acknowledged for it.

but i figure i put this on here so maybe i could contribute to one of the secret achievements lol

Allow me to preface this by saying that I do love this game... it's the first Katamari game I've ever played, and I got instantly hooked...

That said, some of the achievements are just flat out dumb. 50 and 100 hours played? Really? If they wanted to do time achievements, five and ten hours would make MUCH more sense... especially considering how short this game is. Even searching for all the cousins, presents and 100% collection... how would you get close to 50 hours, let alone 100?

A few of the others seem kinda silly too... like the 100/200 Katamaris made will just require playing the same quick levels over and over again.

Oh well, I do love the game, so those are just some minor complaints I guess... they don't take away from my enjoyment... I just probably won't be getting a full score on this one.

At least they don't have one that is getting score 100 on every level. Although I do agree that 100 hours is pretty weak. I like it and will be getting the 1250, someday...

for th 1,500,000 achievement i think u can get it by doing the requests a couple of times over, i just played schloss kosmos and there waslike 4 "disposable suns" around the big sun and i got up to 1'400'000 so i'm gonna play some of these few levels over so i can get that achievement before the dlc comes out muahahahaha

Yeah it might be possible, might not be, if you get the 200 Katamaris, to get that 1,500,000Km achievement. I wouldn't bet on it though, the achievement is for the DLC. Normally when you want to get DLC achievements, you actually need the DLC. This would be the first I have heard of getting DLC achievements without having the DLC.

this is not true, before the dlc was even announced, before it came out over there, i saw one guy on the leader board, qoot he had barely over 1500000 and he had the achievementso u can get it without the download content unless he was some staff member that already had the content

The guide thread says you can just sit in the Princedom. I know that's not what you're saying you did, but for what it's worth: I don't think it's true.

Also: have you tried leaving the sticks pulled together with a rubber band? That worked for me. Or better yet, wrap the rubber band from one stick, down back behind the controller cord, and then around the other stick, so that it perpetually rolls forward and to the right. When you check it again later, it's cool to see where it is, and maybe it'll have rolled up something you were missing.

Thats exactly what i did/am doing.... and still nothing.... im starting to think it may be glitched for some systems, though i know that is impossible.

EDIT: not sure what the problem was, but I finally got it. It litterally was running in erternal mode for an actual 90 hours... but I finally only got credit for 50 hours... at this rate I'm going to need to stay in eternal mode for the next 7 days in order to get 100 hours, and that isnt happening since AC6 is coming out tomorrow.

ok I've been reading your posts for awhile, your posts have been a great help, yes the 200 request secret achievement is true, i saw it on someone's tag that plays from japan, u know those kids that are uber good, i also saw some of them got the 1'500'000 achievement on scloss kosmos or whatever, i assume you have to get a 100 on all the other levels before u do it that's what i guess tho lol

also my girlfriend found a trick on the level where u create neptune she says she got to a part where there's a bird and a plank going up and down, when the plank came back down it pushed her through the ground to the other side of the world, she thought it was a glitch but then when it happened she says the computer mentioned something about it, like along the lines of "hey you warped this is a weird occurance" or something along that. she said it happened to her on accident and i personally haven;'t been able to reproduce it. nor did she finish the level so she didn't get acknowledged for it.

but i figure i put this on here so maybe i could contribute to one of the secret achievements lol

Really? The collection says that I have 100% in the outer space catagory. Yet I have not played co-op, so i never made and rolled up those planets. Though with those 3 planets you should be able to get real close to the astronomic katamari (depending on their size). Also did they just show up for beating Co-op or what?

Yeah, I have had the Star or Stardust show up a few times too. I think it shows up when you have a new star that is smaller but has a larger score or a bigger star but smaller score, then again I could be way off. I think thats what it was in the other games.

You can make 10 of each planet, once you have 10 it asks you if you want to make a star or stardust out of each one of that planet you roll later. If you choose star it will bump off your smallest one of the planet so far and add the new one, while stardust just doesn't put that katamari in space.

The only thing the DLC is adding is the new scenarios and maps. The DLC is using old data from the already existing item set and just rearranging where it shows up. That's the only reason the DLC is so small compared to other games. Katamari maps aren't exactly detailed, and since all the items are already on the disc, it just has to tell them where to go.

I think it's better to release it now before the heavy hitting games come out, more than likely cutting the play of Katamari and people buying th DLC. I mean I want it now because next month there's AC, Bladestorm, Mass Effect, Rock Band, GH3 etc, that will be taking my 360 time. No. That number is all the Katamaris you have rolled in all single player modes (normal, time attack, and eternal). The 100/200 request achievements only count katamaris made in normal mode.

That number is very close when you consider you're rolling in normal more than anything. Unless you keep playing time attack or eternal over and over, you can figure once for each map on eternal. Also check to see if you've even done time attack on the maps when the details pop up telling you you're size, time, etc.

Stardust is acceptable. I turned my Moon into Stardust when the 100 request achievement popped.

help! I bought this game the day before the dlc was available and I booted it up. I started a game and completed egg school. I then went to the market place (inside the game) and bought the four levels it cost me 800 M$ points. The game told me it had to restart the game and so I did (through the game(it did it itself)) and when I got back in it told me about the levels I had bought yet I do not have the achievement for buying them. help please.

I think you need to read the list of achievements over again, there are no achievements for buying DLC. The achievements that involve DLC require you to download them and then (1) collect all cousins (2) collect all presents and (3) make a katamari over 1.5 million km. Happy rolling!

Just asking because I want to start a new game and keep track of where I find certain items that are giving people a hard time. Just finished the game... all 1250 points. If anyone needs any help with items or achievements... msg me and I'll try to get back to you with an appropriate answer. I also have 100 pts on all but one stage (the space station) and 120's on one or two of them.... best bet for those is youtube videos. As far as getting 100% items. I was able to do so by cross-refrencing item lists from several forums and the item lists at katamariontheweb.com Hope that helps. If you don;t want to look up an item let me know where it is in your collection and I can look it up on my collection and tell you what level it's on if I can research it. I will say that I had to get rare items from no less than 7 stages to round out my collection and even had a handful of items that were considered common that I had a hard time tracking down. Best of luck completing this VERY tedious game.

I got the quick turner achievement, and all I did was after I hit the goal, of the the size the king wanted - I had about 45 seconds I just stayed in one place and keep quick turning, back and forth - back and forth. I did that till the level was over and got the achievement. It has to be that you have to do a quick turn X number of times, but I don't have a clue what that number is....

Rolled up a cookie? You get cookies by playing online. At the end of the online stage, you are awarded cookies based on performance. You don't roll them up.

Ok I'm taking it that the DLC affects achievements only in the way that it rearranges your found items list and that's it. (Of course adding the fact that you can't get the achievements without the DLC.) Is there anything else I would need to know that may change with the DLC?

Can anyone help me out on the Astronomical Katamari achievement? Like, is there another way to get it besides playing on Schloss Cosmos? I never seem to have enough time to get it up to 1,500,000. I tried that one level, where you get memories, but the largest I've gotten is 1,392,000. If not, does anyone on tips as to how I can get larger faster?

I was able to get astronomic katamari on the memories level. Just keep playing levels to make more planets and you will eventually have enough stuff to pick up. Some people say you can only get this achievement on schloss kosmos but chateau worked for me.
