Well I can almost put my life on it that you will have to find a bunch of stuff around the city... Im also thinkig that story missions will be included amongst the achievments

They could have all sorts, but as you said collecting stuff will probably make up at least one if not a few achievements. Seeing as collecting hidden packages in the old games gave you weapons at intervals of around 10, may there will be achievements for finding one, half and then all of the packages.

Story completion ones will probably make up a few, side missions and that sort of thing may have their own. I'd like to see a 0 pointer for activating a cheat, and to stop people using cheats to beat the game maybe they deactivate cut scenes and the cut scenes activate the achievements. Therefore cheats = no cutscenes = no achievements.

There is so much potential for crazy achievements, they had better not crap out and put in 5 for pointless things.

As said looking for hidden items around the city would be one ach. Stealing so many cars would be another i think, kill so many ppl may be another, if like the last GTA get a high score in the mini game would be another. Also have so many saafe houses could be another, Maybe they might have stunt achs long jumps etc. Thats all i can think of atm.

i think there could be stuff like drive so many miles run do many miles howevever i think they will be more along the lines of steel so many cars kill so many people and ofc stuff for completing the campain

I think that GTA4 should be the first game to have 2000Gamerscore

It would make the game last longer than it will cause we all know it will be MASSIVE!

I don't think the game length will be short especially with the two download episodic content coming out although im sure we all want this game to last even longer because its gonna be that good.

Im sure it will also use the maximum amount of gamerscore if thats still 1250 by then and by the downloading content.

I predict maybe about 400 points will come from just going through the story...100 points or so of collecting stuff and then a lot of miscellaneous stuff around the city similar to saints row's activities...there will probably be a list to get a bunch of cars and other things like that...all in all i think it should have great achievements.

i dont know where to put this question so ill just put it here.......my buddy at work is interested in this game....he was asking me if i thought there would be online play....such as rival gangs. i guess like guilds in WoW or clan matches in halo 2.....does anyone here have an idea?

I think that they should be similar to the Bully achievements as it is a Rockstar game so we shall wait and see.

bully was a seriously fun game. the sorts of stuff that gave you items on your wall, unlockable costumes, and other unlockables would make for good achievements.

i would hope that the GTA4 will use a similar concept...

This is obviously fake because there are no planes in GTA IV. Yet, You get 20 G for completing flying school, pplus you are unable to Work out your stats.

As much as we all would like that. People said that Halo 3 should have 2000 and Gears of War because they were such big games. But they didn't. Microsoft won't let any game have over 1000 unless it has DLC. Even The Orange Box with 99 achievements has only 1000

Nice find. I'm not exactly sure what you have to do for the achievement, but reading through quickly I'm assuming it's getting a four(maybe higher)-star wanted level because of what is said afterwards:

"An alert pops up on the screen "ONE MAN ARMY ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED" before the demo player quickly gets rid of it and uses a cheat to rid himself of his escalating wanted level."

I'm guessing the achievements will be similar to Bully. Lots of easy but time consuming achievements for distance traveled, doing something a certain number of times, 100% completion, etc.

And no, Oblivion has 1250 not 2000.

If the DLC is as big as they promise "Think of it as an expansion like Vice City was an expansion to GTA 3" then there will be 250 points along with it. Take that analogy literally and we could have all of New Jersey or Boston or something.
As for the DLC list, it is obviously a fanboy writing a wish list for San Andreas. Rockstar explained they were going for realism, and jetpacks and flying school aren't realistic.
They better not do the "find stuff" achievements. If that's included in the 100% achievement which is inevitable, then that's okay, but I hope they get creative.

I don't know who said to compare it to the difference between Vice City and GTA3, but I'm pretty sure Rockstar confirmed that the DLC won't include any new areas such as additional islands or whatever.

I'm pretty sure the DLC will just be a new mission string and a new vehicle which relates somehow to the new missions. A tank or military helicopter maybe. Considering numerous previews have said that the army no longer come after you at 6 stars it'd be a nice bonus for DLC.

If you consider Vice City as an expansion to GTA3, then aside from the new locations all it really included were new vehicles and missions.

One will be for around 75 G for 100%ing the game
A few multiplayers probably
One that will most likely be there, evade a 6 star wanted level
Hotwire 100 cars undetected
Unlock all of Liberty City
Probably around 10-15 straight off of the story, like 'Help Roman Destroy X place" which would unlock after that mission in the story
Probably get 100% with all relationships
100% Vigalante/Fire/Taxi
Skydive off of Empire State figure that much.
One for using a cheat code.
I can't wait until the achievements are released.
The day that happens, I scream for joy, unless they pull out a bad achievement list, but I doubt it, its Rockstar, thats what they do, surprise us.

I wouldn't want that either, but I am sure most of the achievements will be for individual accomplishments leading up to the full 100% completion of the game.

Lots of people are debating if the list is legit, but news from the BBFC about GTAIV getting an 18 rating suggest this may be difficult.

Since this story went live, Rockstar Games contacted GameSpot to say that the running time associated with GTAIV's BBFC rating was for the length of footage given to the ratings board, not the game itself. It did not provide a final running time for the game, but did say that its cutscenes alone approach eight hours in combined length.

If there are almost 8 hours of cutscenes that will take up a major chunk of the 30 hour time limit to complete the game in.

Eh, yep, looks like they are legit.
The 30 hours one saddens me. Although it was probably meant to make you play it a second time through. Because Rockstar should know most people that play the game don't fully play for the story and like to mess around a lot. But it's sad cause all the GS whores out there will pick up this game, beat it in less than 30 hours, and be done with it. Game needs much more than that, IMO.
I probably won't go for the 30 hour achievement unless it's my second play through, and I have done mostly everything I can think of in Liberty City.

Other than that, I will probably get all except the online ones (and maybe the 100%). I am not too much of a online gaming kind of person. Also finding every little thing in a game gets boring to me.

I think some acheviments will be based on the story lines and others maybe by upgrading weapons. And of course, the items your gunna have to find.

Im pretty sure the one about gaining the highest personal rank thing ties in with the Social Club where you have a 'personal rank'. Im pretty sure RStar wouldn't do a leaderboard achievement.

Well the 90% alive i think means that you must complete an elimination mp match with 90% of your team alive.

Too much i think means not wrecking it..cause the dirt and stone chip your vechile..

and i think unlock ability of helicopter means u have learnt to fly.

Easy way to get one man army (survive 1 minute on 6 stars) I got to the second island, towards the bottom on the docks there are some helicopters. Fly over the third island and you will automatically get 6 stars, i jumped out of the heli over water (dosent even hurt you) and ran around between buildings for a bout a minute and got it.

LOL If you believe that IGN crap think again, all story missions complete and some side missions too in under 20 hours. Oh yeah and I have watched all the cutscenes as well. So either someone at IGN sucks or their just pushing the game, still a lot more to do though.

I found a pretty easy way of getting this achievement. On the second island near the top by playboy x's apartment is a bridge that is baricaded off. (not that far in the story line) all i did was jump on a crotch rocket and drove between the cars and lead the cops on a race and then retraced my tracks back to the second island and then finally lost the cops. It took way more then 5 mins to get away and survive

I found the airport was the easiest way to get this achievement. I drove around the back of the airport and waited until I was at the edge of the cop circle and stepped out of the car and crossed the line. Literally seconds after crossing the line I got the achievement

I as well as most people on the planet cannot wait for this game and imo the achievements dont look that tough with practise and will add more depth. My only concern isnt the achievements however, its how many under 18 young kids will convince their parent to buy it for them and flood onto the multiplayer. Maybe its just me though :)

there are 14 that you have to do just go under one of the big ones then when it says 13 to go pause it and the others show up on map choose one and head for it rinse and repeat easy really some are very low so you have to be carefull lol

But to get the Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic achievement, you have to win all different race tracks. And since you can't choose to host your own ranked game... There are 20 car races, 4 boat races, and 10 helicopter races. Going to take forever...

I've yet to find any pigeons but I would say yes. Just like you can't enter certain stores, areas or missions until you complete something in particular.

You have to use any type of sports bike.. not a harley type bike for the wheelie. Best place to do this is at the airport landing strip... plenty of room and no obstructions.

When i went to the airport on my rice rocket.. for some reason as soon as i hit the strip i went from 0 to 4 stars .... so also a good place for the evasion achievement.

While I was at the airport driving down the runway :) the world came after me!!!!!!!!!! That is how I got my "Walk Free" achievement, I did not even have to fire one shot. Just got out of the airport and back on the freeway and BLING!!!!!!

Just has to be one game, you can die as many times as it takes. Seems easiest to do in a 15 minute match, although when I got my achievement, it only took 7 minutes. The main problem is just that some of the "maps" are so big.

Pool Achievement: Take the shot that is already lined up for you, and don't move the stick's angle. It's lined up for you by default. I won on my first try against Roman.

The Turkey Achievement for bowling was a ROYAL pain in the anus... and it took me 12 games to finally get it. I beat the dumb broad every game, but couldn't get 3 straight strikes until the last game. There seems to be no method to the thing, just randomness. I got 2 strikes then 9 pins consecutive about 12 times before finally getting 4 straight strikes to finish my 12th game. Hated that one.

Darts is probably the easiest.

And Qub3d is easy too, just takes about 15 minutes or so.

The rest I'm working on... I have a feeling the hardest is going to be Losing a 4 star wanted level by outrunning the cops.

This one I accidentally got, I went to the airport and jacked the armed helicopter, that gave me a 4 star wanted level.:uzi: Then, while joy-riding around, I left the police circle, and ditched it above some water, I fell a few hundred feet:eek:, landed safely (What's up with that? :confused: I'd have died for sure) in the water, and swam to land. You can use cheats for some achievements as long as the game doesn't save and u reload ur game after u got it so basically you can use them to get any achievements that don't count towards the 100% completion

For Rolled Over, I might have a better way to get rolls. First area, the big shrine area (Upside down U is helpful; also, on top of the hill near the first Pay & Spray).

There are some little poles there. Go at it from the top of the hill with a turismo and at full speed you'll most likely hit one of them, allowing your car to spin. It might be enough. I didn't get it yet, but it seems a bit better area to try, since you're not being gunned down all the time.

I just got the Rolled Over Achievement. I've got to think it's glitched. Here's what I did. I went to the airport, went down towards the water from South to North. Did about 6 flips that way. Immediately came back in the opposite direction (North to South), did 1 flip, and it unlocked. I'm guessing you need at least 1 roll from each side in a specific time in order to get it.

Make sure to do Packie's bank mission...I cheated cause I was getting shot at like hell. The reward for robbing a bank...you guessed it...(Well, probably not, nut w/e) $250,000 DOLLARS!!! Soo close to that achievement. Also, when you take them back home and get the money...you get "Full Exploration" too. It's the achievement that has a pic that says I(Heart)LC.
