Anyone see this movie yet? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, but mostly good ones. It's just over 3 hours.

I heard it was intensely gory and w/e. If people say it's really good, I might watch it w/ some of my friends.

I heard it was a complete failure in the box office, with a ratio of budget to sales of like 1:4 :(

Possibly the greatest movie i have ever seen.
The fake previews were the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

Definitely go see it

Planet Terror was great if not lacking originality. Death Proof was slow to start and the first 20 minutes or so started to really drag, but after that it was fucking great.

Not the best movie ever or anything like that, but just a really fun time at the movies.

how are they in comparison to the kill bills? cuz i really liked those...

their style of humor mixed with gore in all of his/their movies are great.

If you have the wrong mindset, you won't enjoy these.

Being very open minded, they gave me a good laugh all night. Good time, worth seeing.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm VERY looking forward to it. My wife won't go with me, so I need to find a night off. ;)

People who didn't like it didn't know what they were seeing. Same thing happened with 300, people expected a true story and got a reinvisioning, not realizing it. Imagine a terrible B-movie you've seen. Now imagine every terrible B-movie cliche, wrapped into one and shot with a Hollywood budget... that's Grindhouse. Go in with that expectation and I doubt it will disappoint.

its one of the best movies ive seen this year! planet terror was awesome really gorey just the way a movie should be, and death proof was quite good although it was pretty short and almost 1/5th of it was girls talking but it still was pretty good

Saw it when it came out. Loved it. Best trailor is a toss up between mechete and thanksgiving, but then again all of them were good. Planet terror was the best of the two. Fast paced, funny, and soaked in blood. Death proof was killing me with all the talking, and was toned down too much compared to the previous film. The car scene's made up for some but not all of it. Other than that if the only thing that is keeping me from seeing it again, is that i can't sit in a seat for that long again.

Classic stuff i thought. Planet Terror was just absolute cream all the way through, with some real oh-my-fucking-god-what kind of moments in there.

The Tarantino one i thought was in complete contrast to the other... almost like a snowball rolling down a mountain in terms of it starting out slow and picking up as it drew out. To be honest i was far more taken with RR's part.

The funky mini features were excellent; especially the trampoline scene (who thinks this shit up?!) :/

PS Nice to see Lost's Sai'd making a big screen debut!

You see this is why piracy exists! If it was out now i wouldnt be tempted to download it!

Well, that and the fact it costs £15 to sit in a skanky syringe-infested shed for a little over an hour. Nevertheless, two-shoers will be happy to hear i'll be buying this on DVDVD anyway.

I just saw it today. Not a dull moment. Not the best movie ever made, just some damn good entertainment. My girl liked it as well.

I saw it Saturday night, the theater was nearly full - but the movie had already been relegated to the end of the multiplex, in the smallest theater they had.

Overall, it was a great 3+ hours. The trailers were a real treat, "Don't" by far being the weakest. It was a good laugh, but not much beyond that. Zombie's trailer was pretty good, lol at Nicolas Cage. I liked Machete and Thanksgiving the best. Machete is a film I'd really like to see made. And Roth's just seemed to be a really authentic "holiday" slasher film, something made to cash in on the success of a Halloween, for example.

Speaking of Halloween, got to see the trailer for Zombie's remake. Very excited about that one!

Rodriguez and Tarantino have put together a fitting tribute (homage/parody) to these type of genre movies. Not just the movies themselves, but the whole deal of packaging them as a double-feature, the advertisements, the fake trailers, and the digitally distressed film. I'd love to see them do it again, although the results of this experiment may not be profitable enough to make that ever happen.

For those who haven't seen it yet, I'd recommend going to see it now, before it drops out of the theaters entirely, or before it is split in two. Although I can't imagine there would be that much more profit in trying to market the films separately, now that they are declared failures. And who knows how home video will release these, possibly as separate DVDs - each movie getting fleshed out a bit more. But I hope to see a DVD set that allows the theatrical version to remain intact.

I loved Planet Terror, my favorite of the two fillms. Just some completely over the top action and gore. Along the likes of a From Dusk Till Dawn, Return of the Living Dead, The Crazies, etc. Great characters portrayed by Freddy Rodriguez, Rose McGowan, Jeff Fahey, Michael Biehn, Bruce Willis, Marley Shelton, and Josh Brolin. And Naveen Andrews deserves special recognition, for his ballsy performance.

Death Proof was the weaker of the two, in my opinion. Act one was excellent, but I didn't like the direction that the second act took. I just saw the two halves of Death Proof having such disparate tones. I mean, it really was like Death Proof was two different movies. In fact, act two was almost like a sequel to act one.

Started off with a great set-up in Death Proof part one - with a fantastic performance by Ken Russell - and the payoff at the end of that Texas segment was so dark and brutal. Stuntman Mike was ominous, threatening, a stalker.

But then the Tennessee segment wasn't so serious, and at times bordered on comical and slapstick. Stuntman Mike was much different, as the ladies took center-stage. This was the "revenge" flick. With Thoms, Bell, Winstead, and Dawson, the character dialogue was just too much. So that didn't work for me. Great action sequences, I love those classic car movies from the '70s.

Bottom-line, highly recommended! I think anyone seeing this double-bill will certainly get their money's worth!
