Oddest thing about xbox live bio rules

Today i was trying to update my motto via xbox.com and it stated that i had a word in my bio that was not allowed. After 30mins of trial n error, it looks like the word "midnight" is not allowed! wtf is up w/that?

You can't have "mid-night" "midnite" variations either...

BTW I had "midnight club LA" mentioned on the bio.

That's just cutting it too far. The only thing I can think that wouldn't be allowed is "mid".

If Microsoft disallowed everything with an obscene entry in Urban Dictionary, that would be pretty much be every word in the English language.The thing is, a lot of those definitions, as hokey as they might sound, are true; we might not necessarily know of (or believe) them because they're probably known specifically to foreign regions.

Agreed. Microsoft is a World Wide Corporation, so chances are something that you say is OK where you live will be some terrible word or phrase somewhere else. Like for me, I call Hondas rice eaters/rice burners. However, after talking to some friends apparently that's a derogative towards Asians.

Now granted something things like the word Midnight is a little too much for me, as I can understand its a bad name for a group of people, but really now, if they are going to ban Midnight then they should ban Trap (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Trap), Girlfriend (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Girlfriend), and Horse (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Horse), just because the Urban Dictionary definition isn't the Webster Dictionary definition.

So Microsoft went through Urban Dictionary to find bad words which nobody has heard of except for 2 people on Urban Dictionary?The answer to this is probably yes and no; you can bet that they went through it to some extent (maybe), but at the same time, Microsoft employs people all over the world...I'd imagine a lot of the "disallowed" words and phrases have come from input from people across the globe.

Keep in mind I'm not saying Urban Dictionary is the end-all, be-all of potential word misinterpretations - it's merely a tool that can be used to find such things with ease.

Tsk tsk...regardless of what these words apparently "mean", some people actually have Cody as NAME...and what if they REALLY want to throw their name in there but can't due to this...BS idea of removing the word? I can understand curse words, racist slurs, or religious baddies...but "midnight", "cody"...despite definitions, I've seen worse words left in without being removed...

I once tried putting "I like turtles" as my motto and it didn't let me. I could put "I like" or "Turtles" as a motto, even "Turtles I like" but it wouldn't allow me to put it in the particular order lmao.
