Unlocking characters without pre-order codes?

Is it possible to unlock characters such as Shockwave and Jazz without pre-order codes? I hoping that these codes are just early access for these characters and not exclusive pre-order bonuses.

I pre-ordered and got Shockwave and didn't know you can unlock Jazz & even Demolisher on Amazon. I ask because I looked in Extras on the game's main menu and you can unlock Arcee & someone else.

So can you unlock these characters during campaign? Will they be downloadable later on maybe?

Still have to get it (comes out friday here...), but it's unlikely you can unlock them. Maybe they could come out as DLC somewhere in the future (like ME2 Inferno Armor), but I wouldn't count on that.

I've beaten the campaign on Hard, collected all symbols, basically done everything but the level related multiplayer achieves and Prime mode. I can confirm that they do NOT unlock without a code. They are likely going to be future DLC.

Thank you for the confirmation. Though it saddens me that they can't be unlocked, at least I know now. Hopefully though, they will be added DLC.

The only other character unlocks are Arcee and Slipstream for beating each campaign on any difficulty.
