I just finished Crackdown, but I was wondering if I'm the only one who was a bit 'sad' about the ending?
Happy as I was after killing Wang, full of adrenaline about having finally kicked his ass, after being blewn from the top of his building the first time, and having to go through all those stairs once again, I was a bit sad to hear... how do I say it without spoiling the end... the story ended like it did.
Of course it's obvious there will be a Crackdown 2 (will there?)...

Yeah that ending seemed real half assed.. its kindof vague though so the doors are wide open for the storyline in a sequel if they do one

I don't even understand what happened at the end. Is the agency evil?

LOL, I was trying to NOT spoil it for the ones who didn't finish the game yet, but yes, you're right.

If you put *SPOILER WARNING* in your first post, then that would be the way to go. It is hard to discuss the end without revealing that *gasp!*
SPOILER WARNING
The agency fueled the gangs so that, after having COMPLETE chaos, the citizens would be easier to control through the newly established peace and law.
Now, by saying "Pacific City was only the begining", obviously hints at a sequel, but on what scale? Will there be a NATION of cities, another, bigger city? What is in store for us? Is there more to the characters then we thought? Or is it all a dream...?

Agreed there will deffo be a Crackdown 2, it will be like the GTA franchise if u ask me. is like the ending of GOW that was a sad ending also. I cannot wait for sequals to both Crackdown and GOW. ;)

I liked the ending. It's just too bad that the game seemed so short and there wasn't more story interaction throughout the whole game. I think finding the orbs was fun. I just hope for the sequel they let you know once you've cleared a city of orbs. That is something fair they could have added to make it a little less tedious collecting them. But, I liked the ending. I honestly didn't see it coming.

The ending was kind of messed up.
To me it seemed how the main voice was talking, that the Agency was the one behind all the organized crime. So that seemed a lil messed up to me. Why the hell would you help something, only to destroy it later???

Crackdown would get the lame ending award .. Something that sorta doesnt make sense.. But it does set itself up for a sequel.

I'd give the lame ending award to Saints Row... kinda the same ending; you helping everyone out, and they all turn back on you. But Saints Row was harder to beat ;)

*SPOILER WARNING*
At least unlike Saints Row, Crackdown doesn't leave you thinking that your character is dead after all that effort.

I liked the ending to Crackdown, although it was short. The ending makes perfect sense. Its clever.
For example, if the people controlling the agency wanted to pass laws to suit their own agendas, such as contolling laws that invade peoples privacy, the majority of people wouldn't allow them to. However, if people think that it is for their best interests they dont mind as much.
In Crackdown, the agency supply the crime lords with the weapons, etc and allow them to cause mass destruction to the point when the people have had enough and want help. The agency then brings the gangs down making them come out smelling of roses. What the people dont know cant hurt them can it? Its terrorism as we know it today.

And your entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else.
Personally, i wasn't hyped up for the game at all, didnt know enough about it. Like a lot of people i merely bought it for Halo 3 BETA (yeah i know, im a moron) which i probably wont even play anyways. And i wanted something new to play.
Crackdown overall is just like any other free roaming game but i love the fact i can jump on top of buildings. I just wish the game was harder to complete. The bosses should have been harder to get at least.

I don't agree with you at all, i thought the game was very addicting. I do agree it was too short and lacked story. But chasing orbs was very addicting and kept me going. As a developer thats excatly what they want from the consumer.

The story was pretty non-existant. I wasn't fully aware that there even WAS a story until I saw the ending.
If it DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO YOU (Defcizion) then actually PAY attention to the vid. It's not hard to understand why the agency did what they did. It's (KIND OF) like what they did in 'V For Vendetta', terrorizing your own people to be able to execute more power with less resistance to sych set power.
It's pretty simple.

I liked the ending. It was a lot better than the saints row ending and got me psyched for a second one.
