This is the free game that you get for winning in the xbox rewards program. My thoughts are this..... Why give a game that scored a 4.0 in OXM?? Maybe because they did not sell that well?? Well a retail prize of 50 dollars is now discounted to 30. Big surprise huh? What game would you have liked for them to give away?? Me I would have liked a popular game like GoW or Rainbow 6.

Why would they give away something for free that is selling well? Microsoft aren't good people, but they know how to make money. The game sold crap, so they're dumping it in a contest. Gamestop only gives $9 for this now, so it's almost worthless, especially if you got it through rental and already have the 1k like myself.

I agree that they wouldn't have given away a bestseller, particularly because what makes it a bestseller is that all kinds of people already have it. Most of the people with gamerscores over 10k already have Gears Of War... in fact, I don't think I've seen anyone from the US, Europe or Australia that this didn't apply to. Not to mention that they probably HAVE to give away an E-rated game because it's not an 18+ contest (don't ENOUGH kids play Gears? :p)
I think it's a sound idea to give away a game that had online capabilities that wasn't selling well. Anyhow, it's good for the people who DID pay for the game that can't find any online competition. Still I would've rathered it be something different of course. Particularly since this is the sort of thing that many people would've rented to get their 1500 contest points, if not the initial 10k+. I would almost rather just get 4000 MS points or something. That works out for everybody IMO.
Does anybody know when we're GETTING our free Fuzion Frenzy 2's BTW? I haven't gotten mine yet.
EDIT: Nevermind, I found the info -- within 12 weeks of the challenge ending. That's a long time...

I would have rather it been something a little more worth wile of course, but like said above, this is microsoft we are talking about...they aren't going to do something like that...Had I been one of the lucky ones to get this, I wouldn't complain..i'd be happy i got a free game whether I beat it already or not as its money in my pocket when i trade it in...

yea of course they give the crappiest game of the year for free...the ppl that had above 10000 pts probably played it to get the achievement points anyways...i wud have liked to see them give away like forza motorsport or somethin....every1 already has gears and not every1 in the challenge can play an M game

Yeah, but the challenge was so easy that anybody could have done it. Getting a cruddy game and a t-shirt, and 200 ms points, and a free game of contra is plenty nice for 1500 measley points.

Cruddy t-shirt? But its an old spice shirt. With Bruce Cambell doing ads for them you can't go wrong. Wearing the shirt makes you a man of... experience.

I think this game was fine for a freebie; hell look at the first one; they packed it in with the original xbox. Basically it's a giant loss leader for MS. They give them away and we end up with a game to play. Sure it's easy and it's not the most cutting edge thing out there but it's good for if you have people over who aren't really into videogames.

All of you make really good points on this. I have to say for a game I was going to buy anyways for my kids it was not too bad of a deal. Just kinda made me mad when they lowered the price BEFORE it arrived to me. LOL! But if figures. LOL!
Thanks for the input.

they wouldn't give gears or rainbow away because most people already have them and they are worth much more then fusion frenzy

I won the OS challange and had NOT played this game so getting it for free was cool. It's an ok game at best, I can play with my wife. Free is always good.

I can see why they give this for free, it isnt selling well and it is really bad. I got it for free from the rewards and the only thing it was good for was the achievments

after playing the game for the 1000gp and the 48hour gold live membership i took i went and put down a down payment on a real game (the orange box)
so at the end i got 20 dollars for a great game

Wow, can't believe all the bashing in these forums. I wo'nt say this game is perfect, but I dig it. Its fun getting a couple people, young and old, to play mini games. There's enough of an element of luck that everyone can play along.
Everyone seems to think that if something isn't thier up of tea they need to **** all over it.

It's not bad: I had fun at some points, but it still isn't a great game. Get's boring fast!
