View Full Version : Best Emulation Pack for PC Dooming?

Sorry if this is slightly off-topic, but does anyone know of a good program where I can play every version of Doom for the PC? Ten years ago I used to use Doom '95 which I could play Doom 1, its respective bonus chapter, Doom II, both Final Doom chapters, as well as any custom WAD.
Is there a better, more modern version of this now?

I guess that zDoom is the best emulator around.

Chocolate Doom is supposed to be pretty good if you want to be as close to the classic Doom experience as possible. zDoom is nice, but it does change some things (removing that lovely Lost Soul limit for one), and it has a whole mess of junk you'd need to disable as well (who put vertical aiming in my Doom?!).

Haha, thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try out both emulators. Does anyone know where I can find FULL versions of Doom I, Doom II, and Final Doom WAD files that aren't just shareware versions missing bonus chapters, content, etc.
All I can find is a shareware version of Doom I that doesn't have the fourth bonus chapter. I don't care about fan-made WADs. I just want complete versions of the three old-school Dooms in all their classic glory.

Thanks again for the help, but that's to purchase the games right? Haha, sorry, but I'm looking for a free download here. I haven't been having success on Google, but I know they have to be out there. Figured a forum of Doom fans might know of a good resource.
Sorry, ID. I love Doom and all, but I think buying Doom I and II on XBLA is enough money out of me for such old-school games. Surely there's a free download or free WAD files out there.

Pretty sure asking where you can illegally download the games isn't going to sit well with the mods here...

Got that right...
