Personally I loved the first movie (28 days later), and now they're making a second- looks pretty cool.

Did anybody here see the first film?

Good lookin' out man, I didn't even know that was in the works, let alone just a month away from release. First one was awesome. Best original zombie film in ages. (The Dawn of the Dead remake was amazing though.)

Loved the first movie, but it wasn't a zombie movie. They were people that were infected and made crazy by a virus. That's why it was called 28 Days Later, that's as long as a person can leave with out food. They only had to survive that long, until the infected people died.

Saw the trailer at the flicks yesterday when me and the wife saw Sunshine (excellent btw) :)

28 Weeks Later looks fantastic IMO, a very well realised follow up to 28 Days Later :)

On second thought, I love how the American military is the one coming in to save the country- and they fuck up (reminds me of something) :p

The first one was great and I had heard about this one a while back, so it is definitely a must see but I must say that some of the modern horror films have been pretty good, such as The Descent, High Tension (Haute tension), Shaun of the Dead, Hostel, Saw series & the previously mentioned Dawn of the Dead.

I do believe that this is considered a zombie film even though technically, they might not actually be zombies...

Yay more 28 Days Later fans. Its one of my favourite films! Its not so much that the story is the best ever, although it is good. Its the way the film is shot. Seeing London totally empty, seeing the M6 totally empty, its awe inspiring for some strange reason. Cant wait for 28 weeks later.

I agree, it's fairly abvious what the filmmaker is implementing.
Same as RE4, they wern't technicly "Zombies" but you already knew.

As far as the flick goes, I was a huge fan of the original. The comming release of the sequel is very exciting.

I would be looking forward to this but I sense that I will be disappointed with this one - I think I enjoyed the first one so much as I didn't really have any expectations from it - we will see.

Yea its one of those ones, the first film was a cult classic, and im dubious as whether to see it or not, as to save dissapointment.

Considering Danny Boyle isn't directing, I'm a little apprehensive about the sequel. The trailer did have a pretty good Muse song I didn't already have though, so at least that's something.

Are you joking?!?!?!

Yeah, not sure its going to be in the same league without Boyle at the helm.
And got to love the Muse ;)

what's wrong with Shaun of the Dead? I know it's a comedy but it's awesome man! two of the best genre's ever..

but yeah, I don't think I'll see this in the theatre for the reason I don't want to be let down. Kinda reminds me of Hills Have Eyes 2, that looks like shit compared to the first one.

One movie that's sequel was better than the original? Devils Rejects.

Its the fact that he counts Shaun of the Dead as a horror film...

I saw the first one in the theatre and I loved it! I remember walking out after it was over though and everyone was talking about how bad it was and I was thinking 'am I the only one who liked it?' So I'm glad to see everyone here enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the sequel. :)

Just getting back to this thread...

Its the fact that he counts Shaun of the Dead as a horror film...

It is not just me, IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/Sections/Genres/Horror/average-vote) ;)

Although it is a funny one :) I actually included this one for all you UK guys...

You & I are on the same page...I knew I forgot something and it happened to be the best horror film ever for me, The Devil's Rejects! I still haven't seen the 1st one, although I do have it, but this film blew me away, that last shot was great with the music, etc.

After watching the trailer i'm very excited but at the same time im very skeptical. It looks good but it just doesnt seem to have that creepy solemn feeling that the first one had.

I loved 28 days later and i will still definitly see this movie tho ha :)

28 days later was a great movie, and this appears to be more high budget and well done than it. i could be wrong, but i hope not...

the best part about these movies is that the infected people run at full speed and are somewhat intelligent! its boring when you are in a mall full of slow-walking idiots. ;)

Ouch... I'm hurt but agree with you a little... We military guys and gals, well the most of us anyhow, are just doing what we are told, trying to help, but sometimes it just doesnt work out the way we mean it to.

This movie looks great. Once I saw the 1st one I felt really dumb for not watching it in the theaters.

As a fan of the first film, I am looking forward to 28 Weeks Later. However, the loss of Danny Boyle at the helm is disappointing. Hopefully, the new film will be as entertaining as the first.

I went to see this today and was a bit disappointed. It was still okay but nowhere near as good as the first one, it kind of lost some of its character and there were some pretty dumb moments. Shame.

This may be a useless post but I am afraid of zombies so I'm not sure if I will watch this movie or not... call me a pussy... Thats just my thing.

Some people have nightmares about falling out of the sky or something....

I have nightmares of Zombies... and I'm always running out of shotgun ammo..

I thought it was pretty good. I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. It was hilarious though when they were walking down the escalators and she kept yelling "Stop! Slower! Left! NO! Right! Slowly! Up! Stop!"

Glad to hear some people like it as I have been a bit skeptical about going to see it.

I will be going asap now. Or as soon as it comes to my area....damn you small town utah...damn you.

I just saw this last night. This is a great movie when the zombies are actually in it. But mostly it feels like the zombies are a plot device for a family drama. The one character I actully liked got toasted with a flame thrower. Couldn't he have been eaten or something? But I'll give credit where it's due, I loved the Fulci-like killing of the strapped down wife...

Just saw this tonight with my roommate and we both loved it completely. I especially loved the soundtrack and how amazingly well it went to the film. It was a good continuation of the first, gave me enough character development, incredibly brutal, awesome music, I could keep going. I loved this movie.
