I myself bought the game and played it for an hour and have not plaayed it since. If you like games where hundreds of zombies/enemies come at you at once u will like it. Also the save system really does suck, i am a member of numerous sites/forums and alot of ppl have negative thoughts about the game, Yet some have positive feelings so really it is 50/50. Can't u rent it 1st just to see if u like it? as i must be honest I think that i wasted my money buying it, but thas my opinion

going along with what angry said, i personally own both games and believe it is a waste of money for both. however if you are going for achievements i would go with marvel but if your going for just fun play through i would say marvel. im only saying this because once you beat dead rising (if you do) you will most likely stop playing the game, its just senseless killing (if you like that get it). marvel has a plot and is somewhat entertaining. this is all just my two cents though get what you feel you need to get.

i will have to disagree and say Deadrising was a lot more fun than marvel. there is multiple game modes to play once you unlock them... it is a great game for just kicking back with friends and a beer and killing zombies. OR, there is also a great storyline with a lot of missions and choices (it is kind of like a cross between an RPG and a hacknslash game) and lvling up, etc.

i played both and thought deadrising was a lot more fun. it is actually one of the games i own (i rent mostly)... you will indeed have to rent it i think to know for sure which you would prefer.

I don't know what people's problems were with the save system. After playing the game for an hour or two and learning the map, saving should not be an issue. It takes like, 1 minute to run from any area in the game to a save point. Not to mention once you level up a bit and get good you shouldn't have to save, but a few times. It's really hard to die in this game once you level up a bit and learn how to defeat each boss. Also, once you learn how to use all the magazines/books to your advantage as well as mixing drinks, there is no reason you should ever die.

I'd say buy it, but for many people the game is not what they think it's going to be and they are let down. I'd say rent it first. But, it's one of my favorite games of all time at the moment.

For me recently, it was between Dead Rising and F.E.A.R. & I went with F.E.A.R. based on what I have seen/read, so this might be another option for you. I might still go back and get this someday but having recently also picked up GH II, it might be a while...

Dead Rising is an awesome fucking game.. I think it's worth a purchase.. the achievements are fun, and the storyline is good.. plus there's just alot of shit you can do in the game and saving the people is fun and also funny as hell.. one way or the other you gotta try the game, even if you just rent it.. but when you actually get into the game you're gonna love it.. If you love Dawn of the Dead or any other zombie movies you'll love Dead Rising.. Marvel is fun too but it's a totally different game experience

Dead Rising is GREAT, but it's not a game for everyone. You'll have to work a little before you have real fun -get familiar with the map, the time deadlines, level up, things like that-. If you just want a button masher, this is not the game for you, because it's not just a beat'em all, it's also a fucking survival horror. The soryline is great, if you like George Romero's zombie flicks you should buy it right now.

I agree with shaaady dead rising is alot more fun, you can do whatever u want, and you keep ur levels when start a new game, plus theres an amazing storyline that can be changed 7 times i think.

Dead rising is a great game probably one of my favorite games on the 360 it has a great story line and excellent replay value. It does take some work to get the achievements but a very enjoyable game overall.
