Found this today, its an amazing set of images from around disaster area. If you look through them you can see some of the areas that match up with the level(s) in COD4. Pretty neat to see the game was designed with the real world location in mind down to some really interesting details (the pool and fairground especially).

Those are some eerie photos. Looks like a good place for some Fallout DLC or something...

Very moving photos.
The amount of radiation given off after the explosion was massive and spread throughout Europe. It's a miracle that survival rates have been so high and more people did not die as a result of the disaster.
Where the actual explosion occured, apparently it will be around 20,000 years before this area is fully safe again.

Wow, those look crazy. And I'm in agreement with that looking like Fallout.

I'm actually amazed at how acurate CoD MW was comparted to these. The pictures just leave me speechless, I can't imagine seeing them in real life.

Such a stupid disaster. Even worse, it was created by Man. Of couse, no one foresaw this, but then again we're f**king up our world anyway.

There was a thread with the same purpose showing other pictures and someone ( On these forums ) had actually been to Chernobyl and posted their pics if I remember rightly xD it's in this section too ... they were awesome and IW did a great job replicating the area.

Dz06lt, that is one of my favorite episodes of Destination Truth. They sure did experience some freaky things while investigating there. Seeing those images of Pripyat are very haunting and eerie. It's hard to imagine what it was like to have been there after reactor #4 blew.
