first off, let me start off by saiyang that im a hude Venom fan, i liked the first Spiderman game that was out on the Playstation 1 (i thought it was cool) and i played Ultimate spiderman and diddnt really get into it (i also only played it for like 5 mins though) so i was wondering...will this game be worth buying? im thinking about trading in Superman Returns and use the money i get from that game to reserve Spider-Man 3. and help is much appreciated.
Also, why does the PS3 get a cool Collectors Edition of the game and we dont?

I think it will definately be worth buying!! I loved Spiderman 2, so I really can't wait for this to come out as it will be even better.
I would recommend you play Spiderman 2 if you're unsure, as it had the free roaming system that Spidey 3 will have. The achievements look ace too. ;)

if its as good as spiderman 2 was then it will least be worth a rent.
It's a spiderman game, so no.

I shouldn't get too worried and plus, it isn't a big deal imo. We'll get DLC for the game. When? We'll just have to wait and see and if the game becomes a good seller, they'll probably add 250 achievement points more into the game.
I'll be getting this game because I'm a fan of Spider-Man. The first two were ok but part 2 was a major update though. Had more fun with part two than I did with part one. Even though I'm disappointed on the achievement points of the game.

Because Sony owns the right of the movie and they probably cut a deal for the Collectors Edition to go to PS3 only.

That's probably too and of course they need to attract the PS3 fanbase as well. They know it'll sell more on a 360/Wii so they had to add more to the PS3 version.

You guys are both wrong. It is sold and made a collectors edition by EB Games/ Gamestop and only do it on certain games. Not because Sony paid them to. The truth is Eb Games are scum bags.
BTW it is not worth complaining to them because it only includes:
The Spider-Man 3 Collector's Edition includes a bonus playable character, the New Goblin! Also included is Spider-Man 3 The Movie webisodes, an interview with Spider-Man 3 Movie producer Avl Ared and a collectible Lenticular card with an image from the movie!

Yeah...I've rented the past 2 Spider-Man games, so why buy it and break a habit?

i enjoyed the first two games alot. Though i'm buying the ps3 collectors edition for the extras like the green goblin character. I might end up renting the x360 version for the points
so i think if you enjoyed the first two it would make sense to get it

Going to be a rental, once again a game with tedious ' collect all token' achievements to acquire!

Guess I am one of the few weird people that like to collect tokens. Collecting stuff always gives me extra replay as most games I beat and put on a shelf to collect dust. At least the 360 gives me achievements to reward me for doing odd side-stuff.

I already placed an order on Target.com using my X-Live diamond card :). 6 dollars off and saved about 4 dollars and etc. Saw more gameplay video and such which really convinced me to buy the game. I hold back for a while because over at the Spider-Man 3 videogame site, thought I had a good chance in winning the game for free from a mission but didn't win.

i think u shud really rent the game first before buying it..it might be short like spiderman 2 was..then if u really like it and it has good replay value u can buy it...the only problem is that renting is really expensive now...$8 at blockbuster!!

It's a good buy if you like Spidey and don't mind some repetitive gameplay. It's much better than Superman Returns though, but then again that's not saying much lol.

I know this game won't disappoint me plus I'm a fan of Spider-Man. I see myself playing this for a while plus it's better off keeping games knowing that new achievements might come in and it might happen for Spider-Man 3, you never know. If it happened for Marvel Alliance, it might happen for SM3.

I would definitely not recommend anyone to buy this game. I had bought it to add to my collection of 360 games, and also because of all the hype in the magazines before the release. On all my game mag subscriptions they had a packed in front page with this game, not to mention a ton of interviews with the game developers...
Instead of doing interviews with the game mags they should have took the time to beta test this garbage. How can I play it for just a couple of hours and already come across numerous bugs and glitches? I knew not to expect a highly polished movie tie-in game that released along side the Spiderman 3 movie but playing through it, it doesn't even feel like they took any time to test it out what so ever.
Even if you're a huge Spider-man fan, I would definitely say give this a rental first before dropping the $60 bucks on it, and even if you decide to go out and buy it, look for a cheap used copy first.

I am a huge comic fan and I love this game.
MUA (the the DLC) really helps my comic gaming fix but Spidey 3 is a close second.
If you have the deep pockets and can spend the cash buy the game:woop: .

Not worth buying however the webslinging around town is fun. Game controls suck, camera angles suck, Gameplay mediocre at best. Other than those things its ok.

appears people ether really like this game or they hate it.
Personally i think its awesome I'm a long time time fan of Spiderman. Thing i liked about Spiderman 3 is that its so much like Spiderman 2 that up until spiderman 3 i would still bust out spiderman 2 every now and then just to swing around the city. Random missions are allot better with 3 then with 2 no more stupid ballon fetching.

i honestly don't think there is anything wrong with the game... perhaps a little overpriced but I think games in general are pretty damn expensive, not that i'm complaining cos i'm on the 360 every spare second! I think overall the game is worth buying, yeah the camera angles are crud sometimes but i've only found that when crawling. I actually like the marking the missions cos that way I can see which ones I would rather do... for example sometimes I feel like taking down a boss, other times just feel like taking a few snaps for the bugle. As has been mentioned on before, you either love this game or you hate it, i for one love it and I can't wait to get home so I can do some more webslinging. :)

I think that even if you arnt a fan it is worth buying there is plenty to do and is great fun to play there are some problems (camara angles) but they arenot worth bothering about.

I rented it. Couldn't get it back in the mail fast enough.
I will admit, the complexity of the virtual NYC is pretty cool. In the end though, its a boring Spiderman game.

The graphics and all that are great, but I just wasn't into it. I bought it and regret it. So my suggestion would be to rent it. And(personally) the achievements weren't anything fun/interesting so I wouldn't even suggesting putting this on your games played list.

Oh man, i feel ur pain, in Toronto here, some games are 10 BUCKS, and old games are 9 bucks plus tax, thats almost 12 bucks,
its cheaper to buy it, its 20 to buy i think @ some places.

I have the game on the Wii. Now while it's Webslinging is pretty awesome (due to actually using your wrists for it) the game is plagued with having dual assignment to single buttons (jump and wall cling to one button, etc) which makes swinging near walls, or trying to wall crawl in a hurry a problem... Do the buttons have a more individual assignment and more of a Spidey 2 feel? I own Spidey 2 for GC and completely adore the game and am hoping to expect the same on the 360.
Any ideas?
