White Men Can't Jump

I'm playing through at the moment, merrily running through the game and then i get to the point in Episode 1 when you have to walk across the logs.

Alan automatically goes into crouchy/slow walk mode, but he doesnt come out of it. I have killed two of the taken and have to jump on to a rock but it won't let me. Can't work out if its me being stupid or the game has glitched.

I try all the buttons, even restarting the xbox, i can only think of having to restart the whole thing, getting well annoyed.

Please HELP!!!!

I definitely don't remember that happening to me so I'd say it's a glitch. Can't you just restart the game to fix it? or does that not work.

I restarted from the last check point and it didnt work, so i restarted from last chapter and same again. I had to restart from scratch for a second time to get it to work properly. Was hoping to get it completed by morning. I don't see that happening now.
