Help needed here.

I'm almost done taking over all the territories, the only problem is that when I go to invade territory the game tells me that I don't have a general. Also I'm not able to take over two territories and i don't have an alliance with them. Thanks in advance.

This is happening because your Generals/Lord are too far away from the source of the battle. This is easily remedied.
Simply move some of your generals or your Lord into a fief which is in your possession, adjacent to the territory you wish to battle with and with a direct route of passage between the two.
Now when you attempt to battle, you will have no problems.
