So then, after searching the tinterweb and getting my daily fix of GTA goings on, I stumble across a thread on the GTA forums, extremely hot topic, like 29 pages, so I think, I'll see what all the comotion is about...

While inside, I notice that it is another one of those audacious claims from a new member that they knew that GTA IV was going to be in New York like 3 weeks before the release of the trailer. But this is unlike any other one of those "cousin works for R*" threads. The author is very literate and posts with good grammar and is very detailed. But thats not enough for the credibility of a rumour is it, anyway, cut a long story short, the dude comes back numerous times and posts the most audacious story with a few little things inside that make people take notice but all before the release of the trailer...

These things namely, the location of GTA IV, a blue VW car, the inclusion of an Eastern European and the New York skyline inside a IV symbol...

Now call me hopeful, or maybe naive, but I kinda get the feeling that all this is WAY too coincidental...

Want a look, go HERE (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=269166&st=0)

Beware, it's 29 pages with a lot of crap in the middle, ignore that and focus on the "deepthroatgta4" posts and the little bits of speculation after the release of the trailer.

Enjoy :D

After you sent me the link earlier and I read some of it, Viral was the first thing that came to my mind. So maybe you're not naive, or maybe we both are! :p

If it is viral, then it suggests more than one city, which is cool ;)

Webb and I poured over that thread and related info for about 2 hours I'd wager. My opinion is that is definitely a viral campaign of sorts, and personally I think it was meant to point us to Bogota, Columbia as a location in IV while it really isn't. Then again, it's hard to say. I almost want to believe it because that might mean that whole "Bogota, London, New York, Paris, Tokyo" thing might be true. Goddamn that would awesome, but that would make the game so frigging huge....

Maybe the first GTA4 will be New York (aka Liberty City) and then next one is Bogota, then London, ect. like GTA3 was Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas....

I'm just not sure about the one city kinda thing, I know it's got 5 districts and is probably massive, but the diversity and wide range of culture was what made San Andreas so awesome IMO.

This episodic content is getting me though...

Oh and watch out people, it's April Fool's today, so becareful ;)

It better not be a fools day prank as this all sounds really good. I suppose wherever it's situated, you know Rockstar will make a great job of it. Roll on October....

Well, it's causing a stir either way...

It would be quite clever if they did use this to either get snippets of info on the story out, or it may be an undercover way for Rockstar to see what people think of their ideas before they set them in DVD stone.

It could even be a distraction to keep the real game a secret, maybe they have no intention of setting it in a real city and the whole New York thing was a tech demo they made to smoke out a mole and to show everyone what the game will be expected to look like.

So many conspiracies. Did he at any point use the universal confirmation procedure?

...the universal confirmation procedure?

What is that? lol

For an internet rumour to be official you need to use the UCP.

For example:

GTA IV will feature a weapon that allows you to turn people into bananas and then toss them into a barrel full of enraged monkeys. (confirmed)

Ah and no. He's a little more subtle than that...

His new entry regards a musical blog on a website...

http://www.radioblogclub.com/open/82615/pod/POD%20-%20boom

Now this one has been causing some confusion and many theories have come out of it. There is the theory that POD signed with Columbia and there has also been a theory that relates to the 9/11, why? Because that song was on an album that was released on 9/11, 2001.

Another thing to note, they are playing table tennis in their video :p
