Ok at was at gamestop today and the cashier was listing off games coming out soon for me to pre-order he mentioned Call of Duty War Collection which we had no clue about, so i told him i would check it out when i got home and call him when i found out. Ok this is what i found

Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty: World at War

Now this seems like a desperate attempt to milk Call of duty for more for more money. I did a little math and its actually cheaper to buy them
all used by about 10 us dollars, but buying WAW new with used copies of the other 2 is way more expensive about 15 us dollars.

That is a great price. The Call of Duty Orange Box. I wonder if this is just a collection or if they are gonna HDify CoD 2 or 3. Does anyone know if this is gonna introduce a new achievement list or if it will run of the original achievement lists.

Yeah its probably gonna be that, it does have the possibility of being a seperate list which is what im hoping for but im my hopes arent too high. 1 list with 48 achievements 16 per game and 1000 points extra, that would be cool but doubtful

From what the guy at gamestop said this isnt officially announced yet. We dont know anything except what games are in it ,the release date which is 6/8/2010, and the price which is 60 us dollars. We will find out more closer to release

It's just a bundle pack to sell more money. At this point it would probably be less expensive to buy all 3 of the games used than full price for the bundle, but they want to make more money off of CoD. And people like bundle packs because they think they are getting a great deal, and sometimes they are, but in some cases things get way overpriced. Just depends...

What i find a bit strange about this is why do 2 games from treyarch(cod3 & WAW) and 1 from infinity ward(COD2)
Logically it would just be better to do all the cods 1 through 6 in a special bundle(think halo legendary edition style helmit).The only reason i can think of for doing this is to sell more copies of COD2&3 so they can warrant keeping the servers up and running for these 2.

As for the £££ its a tad OTT. My local gamestation can do me cod2,3 & waw for less that £30 preowned and £36 new.
I for one wont be getting this. Iv'e got all 3 and havent played COD3 & WAW in over a year and have not even unwrapped my COD2 disc.

Conveniency =/= Milking anything. If someone just bought their 360 this a perfect addition if they don't have any of the games.

Also, are Game of the Year editions milking too? What about old games on Xbox Live arcade?

As it has been stated on this thread you can get all of these games cheaper individualy. Besides GotY-games usually include something new, or all of the map packs in them. This collection seems to just be original versions without any adittions. So why would someone buy this set when they could get the same games cheaper?

It's just...a bundle. Games get bundled all the time. If Activision wants to try to garner interest in old games I say "bravo". Makes perfect business sense.

The reason to buy this set? Well, I can go on eBay, buy each one separately. Ask every seller the condition of the disc, wait for all three copies. Then one of them doesn't get sent and I have to contact the person. They say it was lost in the mail so I have to file a complaint thru Paypal.

Screw ebay, I'll go to gamestop. There, a I can sift through the old dingy copies of Call of Duty 2, half of them the "Greatest Hits" version, and 95% of them with spilled food on it, like egg. I use to work there, I saw what came in.

So I can get a Greatest Hits version of COD2, with some minor dings, COD3 with a faded cover, and COD: WaW with instructions and case that smell like smoke. Or I could just buy the war collection. Clearly, I am using some exaggeration in my examples to get a point across but things like that DO happen. No shopping around, no separate copies, no worries, one bundle.

Apparently, there is a new Call of Duty title that is soon to be announced. Listed by both Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-War-Collection-Xbox-360/dp/B003JZT1OY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1273263904&sr=8-2) and GameStop (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=77803), the Call of Duty Collection will include Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty World At War. The title has only been listed for Xbox 360 and it is scheduled for a June 1st release. Since Call of Duty 2 was never released on PlayStation 3, it is possible that this Call of Duty Collection may never come to PS3. We'll keep you guys posted.
