Introduction (read first):
I found the challenges to be a pretty fun, grinding experience. There are several spots you can do these, but to save time on listing the same level, I will be referring to one spot specifically where you will be getting most of your challenges. This spot is on level 6 (White Box Laboratories). You only have to kill the starting enemy, then make your way up and into the building. You will run down stairs and come across an in game hint on a building telling you to access the monitoring system. There is a door and next to it is a pipe you can climb. The top has glass that can be broken. I will just call the spot "The Challenge Chamber". Challenges work on every mode, co-op, split-screen, and on any difficulty. You can replay scenes as well. Any time you complete any part of a challenge, it will automatically save and you can die/retry (which is what you will be taking advantage of). If you're creative, you will be able to get multiple challenges done in one retry. I will post videos of examples. I did all of the challenges on realistic mode and so can you. Here is a video of the area I am referring to.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction Challenge Chamber
I would advise to grind these challenges only after having completed all of the Hunter and Last stand missions, as you will gain tons of them in those sections, and could potentially be saving yourself some time. In Hunter for example you will get tons of kills while in the shadows, and Last Stand you can get tons of 3x kills.
Also if you'd like, you may check out my achievement guide found here.
Achivement Guide (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=222938)
Prepare and Execute Challenges
Death From Above: Neutralize an enemy using "Death From Above". (Level 3 requirement 30/30) Difficulty: 1/5
The best area to get this is in the Challenge Chamber. While above someone (either on a pipe or hanging from a ledge) the game will show you the option of hitting :ltbut: for a "Death from Above" takedown. You will be doing tons of these while going for other challenges.
Grab From Ledge: Neutralize an enemy using "Grab From Ledge". (Level 3 requirement 30/30) Difficulty: 1/5
While hanging from a rail or window, you may grab an enemy and throw them to the ground by pressing :bbut:. It works even when they are alerted. You can move from window to window grabbing the guards as each one tries to locate you. You should get a lot of these in story, but the best spot will be on level 2: Kobin's Mansion. From the starting point run to the mansion and jump the wall (Death From Above the enemy if you'd like). Now just climb to the window and pull the guy out. Reload from that point and do it again.
5x Predator: Neutralize 5 enemies in a row without being detected. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty: 1/5
You should get this through normal play of the game. You can use any methods you choose as long as the indicator doesn't appear red and shows you as detected. If you really are having a tough time, just go to mission 2: Kobin's Mansion. Death From Above the guy by the wall, climb up and pull the enemy out of the window, execute the guy looking over the railing through the left door, then turn out the lights. Open the right door and mark/execute the two guys standing there.
Stealth Headshot: Neutralize an enemy with a headshot without alerting other enemies. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty: 1/5
You should get this without even trying to be honest. Just use a silenced weapon and headshot enemies that aren't near anyone else. Another good way is to use a silenced alternate gun that has a zoom feature (that you purchase).
Mark Proficiency: Neutralize at least 2 enemies in a single Mark and Execute. (Level 3 requirement 100/100) Difficulty: 1/5
This will take a little time but still very easy. As long as you kill someone with any form of takedown (Death From Above, Ledge, hand to hand type executions) you will be able to mark enemies. The best place to do these will be the Challenge Chamber on level 6. Look below the door and mark the left and right enemies with :rbbut:. Climb the pipe and drop down on the middle guy. When you've landed, hit :ybut: and you will perform the Mark and Execute.
3x Frag Grenade: Neutralize 3 enemies at the same time with a single frag grenade. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty: 1/5
On the Challenge Chamber, climb the pipe and drop a grenade down. After a few things said by enemies (such as Mother $%&@), they will all die. It is best if you have upgraded the grenade via the weapon stash first to make the blast radius at maximum. You also have the option of bashing the door down, throwing the grenade at the middle of the floor and running (or mixing with EMP first).
Remote Explostion: Neutralize at least 3 enemies by detonating a remote explosion gadget. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty: 1/5
You should use the above description (3x Frag Grenade) except that you have to detonate the mine.
Stunned: Neutralize an enemy who is stunned by a flashbang or EMP gadget. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty: 1/5
Stun an enemy with a flashbang grenade or EMP and execute them in any fashion you see fit. The best area is the Challenge Chamber. Climb the pipe and throw a flash grenade or an EMP grenade. You can then pick the regular grennade or remote to kill all 3. You can mix this one up with other challenges. You will probably get it in regular story, but if you want to speed things up, combine it with your 3X grenade kills. You will get 3 (because you stunned 3 enemies) every time.
Behind Closed Doors: Use the mirror or snake camera to mark an enemy, then neutralize him. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty: 1/5
You will be doubling up challenges with Mark Proficiency. On the Challenge Chamber, peek below the door and mark the left and right guy. Then climb the pipe and Death From Above while hitting :ybut: when you land. Here is a video I made.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction Challenge: Behind Closed Doors
Sonar Mark: Use the sonar goggles to mark an enemy, then neutralize him. (Level 3 requirement 100/100) Difficulty 2/5.
You will not get the sonar goggles until late in the game. An upgraded gun with 4 marks will make this go by a lot faster. Just always remember to hit :dup: first to activate the sonar, then mark. You don't have to kill the enemies while in sonar mode, just have to mark them that way. Best place is Michigan Ave where you can also get the Ledge and Mark and Execute Challenges. Also it would be a good spot for the Sticky Camera.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction Sonar Mark Challenge
Shadow Takedown: Perform hand to hand takedowns in the shadows without alerting enemies. (Level 3 requirement 100/100) Difficulty: 2/5
While doing some of the other challenges, you will be getting these too. This should come along with normal play of all modes. Your screen has to be in black and white when you do the takedowns (Death From Above, Ledge, executions via :bbut:). You should be getting a lot of these while playing all of the hunter and last stand missions. Remember, shooting doesn't count, nor do gadgets.
Sticky Camera Whistle: Make noise with the sticky camera to attract an enemy, and neutralize him. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty: 2/5
This can be somewhat tricky at first, but once you figure it out it's not that bad. You cannot be detected at all, or the enemies will laugh at your attempt to distract them. You can kill them in any way, even by blowing the device up. You will not get this device until later in the White Box Laboratories level. It will show up and hint at you that you are able to use them. The best place is the checkpoint after that happens. Look to your right, throw the camera slightly at an angle onto the counter's side and go directly into camera mode. Make the whistle sounds, and an enemy will come to investiage in which you will be blowing him up. Upgraded helps a lot for the blast radius.

Vanish Challenges
Vanish Silently: Once you are spotted, vanish without neutralizing any enemies. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty 1/5
There aren't many of these to do, which makes it very easy. You can get this in campaign or use a retry to speed it up. Once an enemy is alerted, run somewhere so that your screen turns black and white. You must wait until your last known location disappears. You will most likely get this doing other challenges. You may use EMP or flashbang to escape, just remember not to kill anyone.
Cat and Mouse: Perform a hand to hand takedown against an enemy who is investigating your last known position. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty 4/5
This is the trickiest of the Vanish Challenges. You will have to be spotted, vanish, and then execute an enemy who is close (and looking for you) to your last known location. The game is very picky on this challenge. If an enemy is shooting at your last known location, it will not count when you execute him. You have to pay attention to your last known location's silhouette. If it vanishes, you are usually too late. The enemy must be close and walking to the area trying to figure out where you are. Best place I figured was the Challenge Chamber. A video is a must for this!
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Cat and Mouse Challenge
Mark only the left guy, then when you do Death from Above, execute him. That leaves one guy left. This will take plenty of attempts, but you'll catch on. He won't always do the same thing. Also, you can get this with any take down (like Death From Above). Some people might find it easier to jump out of a window and cross your fingers that's the window someone goes to investiage.
For alternate methods, see the links below created by other users. They might provide a faster/easier way! The first one is by Muckrak3r and the second by Maka. Or, you can scroll through the thread, as they have embedded versions without you having to copy and paste the links. I am only not embedding due to character limitations per post.

Last Known Position: Neutralize an enemy while standing at least 10 meteres from your last known position. (Level 3 requirement 50/50). Difficulty: 2/5
You will probably be getting a lot of these by shooting enemies who you had to run away from. But, easy way to get them done is the challenge chamber. You can get 3 per retry! Here's how I did it.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Last Known Position Challenge
Climb up, through remote bomb through glass. Climb down, burst through door (while running a step or two in) then blasting the EMP and dashing to the rail opposite the door. Detonate as soon as you get to the railing, I only looked back to deomstrate the last known position was still present. Normally you won't have time to look.
Portable EMP Escape: Use the portable EMP to vanish. Stun at least 3 enemies while escaping from a combat situation. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty 1/5
There has to be at least 3 enemies that get stunned by your portable EMP. You then have to run without killing them and vanish. The Challenge Chamber is perfect for this. You can burst through the door, use the EMP then clumb the pipe and vanish if you want. Once it's counte you can do other challenges, such as 3x Frag Grenade kills.
Flashbang Escape: Use the flash bang to vanish. Escape from a combat situation. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty 1/5
You can use the same method mentioned for Portable EMP escape in the Challenge Chamber. Just rush in, throw a flash bang on the ground, and escape up the pipe. Luckily you don't have many of these to do.
EMP Grenade Stun: Stun at least 3 enemies with a single EMP grenade. (Level 3 requirement 50/50) Difficulty 1/5
This is extremely fast and easy. On the Challenge Chamber, climb up the pipe and throw down an EMP Grenade. Since you don't have to be spotted first, you can just throw down one at a time until you run out. Once you do run out, throw a grenade or a remote mine!
Choke Hold Freedom: Free your team-mate from a choke hold in any Multiplayer game mode. (Level 3 requirement 15/15). Difficulty 2/5
This one is only able to be completed in multiplayer. It can and most likely will be obtained while doing the cooperative story, hunter, and last stand misions (if you're doing them cooperative). If you try to execute an enemy whom is facing you,and you're detected by him, he will most likely use a choke hold. Your partner must be put into this situation. You have a limited time to kill the guy before he kills the other player. This can be done even while you're downed if you're at least sitting up. Some people (like my partner) would get choked constantly, making this very easy to get. I would like to add that during the first mission (coop) there will be an auto choke hold on whoever interrogates him. You can keep retrying from that point if you are having a hard time with this.
Reviving Team-mates: Revive your team-mate in any Multiplayer game mode. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty 1/5
You can do this in any multiplayer mode. You'll most likely get it while completing cooperative story mode on extreme. If not, the best way to get this is to do a split-screen hunt mission and let your alternate controller get downed.

Splinter Cell Challenges
Mark Mastery: Neutralize 4 enemies with a single Mark and Execute. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
Once certain weapons are fully upgraded, you will be able to mark more enemies. The Five-Seven pistol works best. Check the video for "Sonar Mark" challenge, it utilizes the 4 marks to gain more sonar kills.
Advanced Stealth: Complete a level without being spotted and without retrying. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 5/5
For a very easy way to accomplish this, watch the video and follow the route I take. You should combine this with Advanced Close Combat. Pick the Washington level (carnival area). Put it on rookie and remember you cannot retry at all. This must be done in one attempt, but it's a lot easier than it sounds. You may also do it on co op modes. Pick a hunter mission for example and just let your partner (or your second controller on split screen) do all the work. I did it on realistic on the first hunter level so that I could also gain the extra achievement there. Choice is yours! The video starts in the main mission after killing the people tailing you. If you need help on that section, look in the post below which I will be putting misc. videos.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction Advanced Stealth and Advanced Close Combat
Advanced Close Combat: Complete a level without firing a single shot and without retrying. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 4/5
This is a little easier than Advanced Stealth. You can be spotted, but you can't shoot. Using gadgets is fine. Refer to the video in Advanced Stealth as well as the description. These two challenges should be gotten at the same time.
10x Predator: Neutralize 10 enemies in a row without being detected. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 2/10
This one you'll most likely get while playing through the campaign. If you want help, here is a really easy way to get it. On Kobin's Mansion, use the car alarm to kill the gate guards. Then Death From Above the guy by the wall if he is there still, if not find and kill him, then climb up and kill the guy on the ledge. Turn off the light, and peek under the right door in the room you just entered via the window. Mark the 2 guys, open the door and execute. Go to the left door, execute the enemy, then shoot the chandelier. To explain, I used a camera to film the game. It was held between my knees, so I was unable to read the in game text. So when it said "Peek Under Door", I could not tell if it was saying "Open Door". This is why I looked under it 2 additional times, which you don't have to do.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction 10x Predator Challenge
Assault Rifle Marksmen: Neutralize 15 enemies with a single magazine using an assault rifle without reloading. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 3/5
At the end of Third Echelon HQ, you will have instant auto marks. Just make sure you have your assault rifle before hitting this point. There will be around 16 or 17 guys you can instant kill which counts for your challenge. Other than that, the best way is to have an assault rifle that shoots single fire. You will have to hope for headshots and take-downs in that case, which earns this the difficulty.
Pistol Marksman: Neutralize 10 enemies with a single magazine using a pistol. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 2/5
This is a little bit easier than the assault rifle as you can do it in earlier stages. Also, one of your pistols will get 4 marks and also have a silencer later on. The requirement is only 10. You can do this the same way as Assault Rifle Marksman. You may be able to dashboard when the other achievement unlocks and choose continue, though I because of realism sometimes being glitched, I would not take my chances. I got it on Price Airfield myself. I will just post a video of me doing it for my second time. To be completely honest, I've only done the level once so go easy on my many turn around because I forgot something moves. Also, I accidently picked up a different pistol while planting a C4 (do not do that) and accidently reloaded. I killed 17 people out of 18 total shots. The first time I only had 12 shots. I would suggest getting the pistol that has at least 3 marks, though I didn't think of it in the video. One last thing you may have noticed, I had no clue where that last guy in the first building was. He would have been number 10, so you do not have to continue past that point. I was just demonstrating the entire level, in case you missed or had to kill someone in a different way.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Pistrol Marksman Challenge
Collateral Damage: Take an enemy into human shield, and bash him against a wooden door to shatter it. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
A great level for this is Kobin's Mansion. When you climb into the window at the start of the level, go to the right and mark the two guys under the door. Now go to the left door, and hold :bbut:. Now that he is your hostage, push him along to your right and you will notice an alternate route into the area with the marked men. Get close enough until the game prompts that you can bash the door and trigger that motion. Now hit Y and to kill the marked men. If you want you can do this in the Challenge Chamber. Just mark one guy under the door. Climb the pipe, Death From Above the middle guy, execute the marked man. EMP and run to the last guy and hold :bbut: on him until he is your hostage. Now just bash him through the entrance.
Human Collision: Knock an enemy down by throwing another enemy onto him. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
Using the same method describe in Collateral Damage (the Challenge Chamber one), instead of marking, EMP when you land, take the closest guy hostage and throw him into the other. Can be done anywhere easily.
Deadly Fall: Thrown an enemy so he falls 10 or more meters. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 2/5
This is really a 1/5 difficulty but harder if you don't know the proper spot to throw someone. To the Challenge Chamber!
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Deadly Fall
Kick the door down, EMP, take hostage, eliminate other targets, then throw the guy off the railing.
Environmental Hazard: Neutralize 3 enemies using a single trap or explosive. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
The first place you can get this is Kobin's Mansion (level 2). Once you climb in the window and dispatch the guy behind the left door, shoot the chandelier. Refer to the video in 10x Predator.
Security Device Diversion: Attract an enemy by disabling a security device, then neutralize him. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 3/5
This is a bit trickier, as there aren't many places to do this. The level filled with security cameras does not allow you to even shoot them. There will be an oppurtunity in Third Echelon HQ where you can shoot them later in the level. The best place to try it is actually in the cooperative mission which makes you sneak past a bunch of security guards. There is a camera at the start of the mission along with a guard nearby. Take him out when he goes to take a look.
Car Alarm Investigation: Neutralize an enemy while he is investigating a car alarm. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
You can get this on Kobin's Mansion easily. Go to the second to last car by the mansion's gate. Set off the alarm by pressing :bbut: when prompted, then move to the shadows. When the enemy gets to the car, execute him in any way as long as you don't alert him. You will also get the oppurtunity to do this on the Echelon HQ level, as there are tons of cars and security guards walking around.
Human Kevlar: Mark and execute 3 enemies while holding a human shield. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 2/5
You have to first have a gun that can mark 3 people. Then, you must have executed someone with hand to hand. Finally, you must find 4 people. You can get this in a lot of places, but the easiest is Michigan Ave. Refer to the video for the Sonar Mark challenge. When you start at the shown checkpoint after saving the scientist, rush and grab the guy on the ledge when you're able to move. Now you have marks. Sonar and mark 3 or 4 of them (depends on your gun). You will be able to grab the nearby enemy and hold :bbut: so that you are using him as a shield. Now just execute the marked men (they need to all be in clear view).

Group Neutralization: Neutralize 3 enemies who are stunned by a single gadget. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty: 1/5
You might have already guessed the Challenge Chamber is best here. In fact, by the time you read this you probably have it already. Climb the pipe, throw the EMP or flash bang, then throw a grenade. You can also do this with mark and execute after Death From Above.
Alternate Door Entry: Crush an enemy on the other side of a door by bashing into it or kicking it down. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 3/5.
There aren't a lot of places to get this easy. You have to alert someone or find someone next to a door. Sometimes you'll be the one getting kicked down! This may work on Challenge Chamber. Sometimes if you're too close to the door and make too much noise you'll hear the enemies yelling and running at the door. You'll see a glitched gun appear, this is when you kick it down. If you don't get lucky with that, later in the campaign when you get the sonar goggles is best. In the kitchen in the White House level, alert the guards and use sonar while standing by the door. When one approaches, you will be able to see him through the door and time it. Also, remember you can always close doors, and guards who are alerted might try to open them to catch you.
Breaking Glass: Shatter a window by throwing an enemy through it. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 2/5
This one is only tricky because the game doesn't seem to always register it. Take an enemy hostage and throw him through a window. A lot of times they'll hit something and just bounce back after breaking the glass. I still got my challenge when this happened after several attempts, but I did find an extremely sure way of getting it. On Kobin's Mansion after you get into the window, take the guy from the left door as your human shield and throw him out the window. Make sure you're far enough back, and don't stand still while hitting the button or you'll kill him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouTLO1Bb46A
Effective Interrogation: Use 3 different special moves during a single interrogation. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
The first place you can obtain this is your first interrogation! Your objective is to find 3 different environmental dangers. For this scene, use the mirror/sink, one of the toilets, and the weird bathroom stall door opposite the sink.
Full Recovery: In any COOP game mode, when you are knocked down, sit up and neutralize 5 enemies before your team-mate revives you. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 5/5
You will try and try, and always end up short. You will kill 4 guys, and the 5th is out of view. You will get killed randomly, especially on realistic. Luckily there is an extremely easy spot I found with respawning enemies who run in and facing away from you. Load the 3rd cooperative level up on the last chapter, rookie mode helping. Make sure you have 3 armor upgrades on your uniform. Run to the big turret using EMP to run to the left of it by some stairs which you will be downed. Now have your partner use EMP while you kill the enemies. Also to clear up confusion, you get the challenge regardless of being revived or not.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Full Recovery Challenge
Remain Undetected: Remain undetected for 10 minutes after vanishing. (Level 3 requirement 1/1) Difficulty 1/5
This is a challenge you get when you want to take a little break from the game. Alert some guards then go into the shadows. The Challenge Chamber is good for this, bust through the door like you own the place (because by this point, you really do) and EMP them. Now climb up the pipe and sit where it turns your screen black and white. Hang there for 10 minutes. Another spot would be during the Washington Monument level. When the game tells you about using the EMP, alert the guards, use it, then run back where you entered and duck below the stand.
CONCLUSION: The challenges are all pretty easy, just takes a few dedicated hours of grinding them out in the same spots. I'll post various videos soon on the many ways you can stack the challenges into one retry (on Challenge Chamber area). If anyone has any requests feel free to ask!

Also, you should add in the beginning section to make sure and hand to hand kill the first guy on the level.
That way, when you get to the challenge chamber, you can do under door mark and execute moves too.

You can still do them, as you gain "executes" from landing on the guy from Death From Above. So you mark them first under the door without the right to execute. Right when you land, you gain them. By the time you're done grinding those challenges, you'll be able to do tons of upgrades which will help in later levels!
I might end up writing an achievement guide as well, as long as people don't mind another one being thrown up into the threads.

True. However, it's much better to have an Execute available from the start. For the under the door kills, each one counts. So you can get 3 per attempt so it goes faster (if you have the drop kills already).
Also, thanks for the cat and mouse video. I couldn't get it to work exactly the way you did it. What I am doing, is marking the left guy like you did, dropping on the middle guy like you did, executing the mark like you did, and then popping a remote emp like you did.
If I pop the remote emp ASAP and then run around the back, the 3rd guy always moves out a bit and starts shooting my shadow. The second he stops the lights begin to come on and I hand to hand kill him and I get a cat and mouse credit for it every time.
* I am in no way trying to be negative here by the way. Your "challenge chamber" is genius, pro, and effective all rolled into one! *

Yes, that's how I got it. Worked like a charm. I got 4 achievements doing that one hunter mission on realistic. Got Splinter Cell Challenges, Complete All Challenges, for completing 1 co op mission in hunter, and for completing hunter without alerting. It really jumped my achievements up!

Sweet, thanks for posting that. If anyone has problems with either, they at least have a back up with the other method. Yours takes away a step of doing the EMP a second time, mine gives just a little bit more time to use the move. The audio helps too, I might do that for future videos!
This gives another viewpoint as well, as you can do the Cat and Mouse in lots of areas. The key for it to count is 1. Enemy is not firing. 2. Your silhouette is still present. 3. You have vanished and the enemy is still alerted.

Downtown district level is the best for Below\/ challenge because there are 9 guys at the start and u can keep reloading the last check point, after a small in-game cut-scene (1 time)

I found the level where u have to disrupt the generators near the end of the game u will drop into this lower tunnel and when u walk down it there should be 2 doors on ur right and theres three guys in the first doorway and im pretty sure u get the ability to execute there! so all u have to do is turn on the sonar goggles then target all 3 and u can get the multiple target and sonar done pretty quick

i found a better spot to bash someone on the other side of a door. the 2nd level, right before you enter the room Kobins in, if you just stand outside and dont open the door, he'll tell someone to go check the door. someone will then go to the door and stand there like an idiot. thats when you push B. hope i helped, cause your guides awesome

I have done an update. I have now included videos for Sonar Mark which helps in various other challenges including the 4x Mark one. The major update also includes a video for the Advanced Stealth and Advanced Close Combat challenges. It is the easiest way I have found. I decided to attempt various methods, and after a few hours I have found this method to be the easiest. I will keep updating as I see needed, specifically if anyone requests a video. Intro video now also included.

Does the P.E.C challenges carry over for each play through?
Tyger7
04-16-2010, 10:52 AM
The challenges are associated with your profile. You can gain them on all game modes, and they carry over when you replay levels. You don't have to worry about them reseting unless you delete your save file entirely.

Make sure the other guy is not stunned by an EMP or something. In my case he was walking towards me and did not know of my position.

A - Thanks for putting this together, helped tremendously for the cat and mouse and I'm sure it will for others too.
B - In the 'challenge chamber' I'm only getting +1 for 'stunned' even though I see all 3 guys are visibly dazed when the frag goes off - any ideas why?

It depends what challenge you are talking about, but a few of them ask you to stun 3 people, 50 times.

I'm talking about the 'Stunned' challenge "neutralize an enemy who is stunned by a flashbang or emp gadget". I realize the ones where it says 'neutralize 3 enemies...' will only add +1 to the challenge count, but I don't see why this one always only goes up by 1. I have all of the gadgets upgraded too...
Also, 'behind closed doors' sometimes doesn't even go up by 1. I have the execute ability, mark all 3 from under the door, go up top and drop a flash and then a frag and no count is added to behind closed doors... :(

Neutralize may seem like another word for kill, but in this game I learned it is not. I believe you have to hand-to-hand kill, execute or action (Grab off ledge) kill them. Aiming doesnt count (from personally experience).

BTW i found a quick trick for 3 challenges with your trick in the laboratory.
You climb on the pipe to go to the breakable window ... and then (what i found for a quick 3pec challenge is to throw an emp grenade than you throw a remote mine or frag grenade so it'll give you credit for Stunning 3 ennemies + Killing 3 ennemies with your frag or remote explosive + kill an ennemy stunned by an emp.

Hey there, amazing guide thanks, it helped me a lot with my challenges!
I had a quick look through and didn't see it, so he's a brilliant way to get Sonar Mark to 100:
On the Third Echolon HQ mission, right after Sam goes into a rampage and has unlimited executions etc. If you pop your sonar on, when it marks the targets for you, it counts as if you marked them yourself with the sonar on, and counts for the challenge.
You might need 1-2 runs of it to get the idea but I was aiming for 15 marks a run, with a max of 18 possible (I reloaded to be safe). There's also a checkpoint right after the cutscene so you can spend as many attempts as you like on it. Doesn't take more than 5 minutes to do once set up, good luck!

Oh yeah, you can do multiple challenges tons of ways. That's what in my intro I said get creative ;) I was planning to make a few videos of examples soon, thanks for reminding me!

Yes, you can shoot people from a distance or kill them with gadgets.
Dude evety time i try the Last Known Position i throw the mine switch to the emp and time i switch back the it doesnt let me det it make me throw a nother mine?? any advice??
After throwing the mine, click :dleft: twice to get to emp. Once used and running to rail, press :dright: twice. It should be the remote. I think what you're doing is stopping back on mines. The game adds the control to your gadgets so that you can set up multiple mines if you choose.

Yeah it counts as 1 because the obejective is to stun 3. But, since you have 3 of the gadgets, wait until they are not stunned, then throw another.

Yeah it only adds one per group of 3 for challenges that ask for a group of enemies. For Behind Closed Doors, think of it as a Mark and Execute. Once you mark them by peeking under the door, you have to press the :ybut: to execute them. You cannot kill them in any other way. If you want to save yourself from having to do a Death From Above, at the start of the level do a hand to hand on the first guy in the level. Then by the time you get to the chamber, you'll have your marks ready to do and when you reload, you'll still have them.
UPDATE: I have included Makrack3r and Maka's methods as well in the guide if you guys want to check them out. They are for the Cat and Mouse challenge. Because of character limitations, refer to the links and copy/paste them in your browser, or if you scroll through the thread you'll find embedded versions. I have also included a link to the guide I made in case you'd like to refer to that for the various achievements.

Great guide. To assist on the sticky camera and make it a bit easier if you're having trouble; then do this.
The beginning of the last level (the whitehouse) has you approaching a room with two talking guards. Throw the sticky camera at the guy who has his back to you's feet and then make a noise with it.. detonate it almost as soon as you hear him be aware it's made a noise and you'll get two kills - rinse and repeat til you have all fifteen, which of course will take you 8 times.

Just a little bit of extra advice for people following Maka's technique for 'Cat and Mouse'.
To the people saying it doesn't work, just do this...
From your checkpoint on the stairs, sprint straight down and through the door.
Mark the middle guy, and Melee Takedown the guy on the far left. As you are taking this guy down, keep tapping Y to take out the Marked Man straight after.
Now, run to the left behind the cabinet things. This part is important.
Get into cover halfway around these files (hold LT).
This seems to make you really quiet, so the guy thinks you are still in the same place - where you melee'd the guy.
Sneak around the rest of the files, whilst staying in cover.
The enemy that is still alive should now have moved to the centre of the room. He will mutter to himself and say something like "watch out, throwing flashbang".
That is your sign to move.
Stay crouched and come away from the files, sneaking towards the man. Stick to the left by the desk, and he won't see you.
Once he throws the flashbang, he will get out his torch and look left, then right.
Whilst he's doing this, melee him.
It's important to time it just right. Many people saying it doesn't work probably just did it too early. I was doing it too early at first, wondering why it didn't work. But once I figured this out, I got it every time.
Hope this helped, good luck everyone.

For the Cat and Mouse challenge all you have to do is bash in the door and run back out so your vanish point is right outside the door and then take cover on the left side of the door (LT). As soon as one of them makes it to the doorway hit B to take him down, then take cover again and wait for the next.

Load up Washington Monument and pass the first section. After talking to Vic, run to the first set of guys so that they notice you and start yelling. Now run back to where you talked to vic and either go left or right (right away) and duck under the two provided areas and you will be stealthed. That's at least how I got it, and it was really easy.
Otherwise, run to any enemy and just make it so they are completely aware of you, then run off and make sure your screen is black and white. Not sure why it would be causing you any trouble. Do it, then take a break. I hid and went and took a shower, came back, and I had it.

Hey for flashbang and emp escape I would recommend the following which is a little bit easier....
In the challenge chamber go up the pipe. When on top shoot someone in there leg to get them to shoot at you. Wait for the red indicator to go off, then throw a flashbang or shoot off an emp. Then crawl back to the bend in the pipe. Wait until your silhouette goes away.
Using that method you can get 3 guaranteed emp escapes and 4 flashbang escapes per retry and it only takes about one minute.
Also you may want to tell people to turn off the lights if they're trying cat & mouse... The light switch is on the back wall by the far door.

You have to finish a Hunter Missions on realistic without being spotted anyways, so you might as well go for it there! Otherwise I always suggest Washington Monument (just follow the video).

I got a few of mine that way too at first. It works well and was almost what I was going to post originally, but sometimes the guys would run out the door. I had just felt running in and out of the door was faster than climbing the pipe! This way does work though, and I suggest if anyone has problems with any method, to try others intead!
I dont know if this is valid or a good idea but I managed a "Grab from ledge" a minute playing the first level available for Last Stand, and hanging from the middle section. It seemed to go by extremely quick...

Thank you! this helped me get the flashbang escape challenge, was having trouble using the same method as the portable emp.
No problem
In addition I have a much easier method for getting the full recovery challenge.... I'd say this method makes it a 2/5 challenge....
Play last stand (coop or split screen) on russian embassy 1, rookie level.... In wave one have the second player hide (I don't know how to describe it, but the second player can hide up high by the dark statute tyger shows in his last man standing video)... The player going for full recovery should run to the top of the steps by the emp that go down below the emp and wait to be downed... There are enough enemies running up the steps there that with the five-seven equipped you should get this challenge in under a minute...... if you fail simply retry
I think I killed 9 guys in one try using this method

Go to the very last part in the st. petersburg map (your in like a basement/dungeon thing) while doing hunter mode. It makes the Flashbang escape, EMP grenade stun, portable EMP escape, and the cat and mouse ones very easy because you can hold 4 flashes or 4 EMP grenades with the right clothes selected. Just run back to the hallway to refill your nades with the weapon boxes then just run back and forth. die if need be to make everything respawn.
can be done with a friend too, so its not so boring.
Thanks for the guide, it helped a lot with the carnival part and 3x grenades.

I can only guess that one of them is not getting dazzed, or is coming out of daze by the time the grenade explodes. Try switching and dropping the grenade faster. Also, you could try running in the door using the portable EMP, then throwing a grenade to the middle. Make sure all your gadgets are upgraded max as well!

You will not get this device until much later in the game in the level Third Echelon HQ.
This part is wrong. I found the sticky camera in the White Box level. SPOLIERS:
After you save the scientist and you use the elevator, in the next room there's a weapon box to your left as soon as you leave the elevator. Go up to it as far as you can and you will pick up the sticky cam. Then you can jump out the window and be behind like 4-5 people, do the whistle with the cam, detonate, retry checkpoint and you'll spawn after the elevator.

Your video for the Full Recovery challenge is a great spot. However it MAY be easier for the person that is going for it actually use a machine pistol such as the Skorpian, SR-2M, or the MP7. Since it is a one-handed weapon, you can use it when you have someone hostage, downed, or hanging from a ledge.

What level can I get the security camera challenge I'm struggerling
You can do the hunter mission where there is a camera I forget which one it was. Or in Third Echelon HQ level, after progressing awhile to where you can be detected. There are a few cameras in the level, shoot one, it ticks off a guy, kill him.

For the 'Cat and Mouse' challenge.. I've found that you don't have to wait for the enemy to walk towards your last known position, you can neutralize him as soon as he says something. usually after he's done shooting and reloads, he says something like "you can't hide from me.." and so on. At the point you can kill him and it'll count towards your challenge. If you copy the way the OP does it. (mark guy on right.. death from above.. EMP... circle him.. kill) ... Usually you can kill him by the time the lights turn back on.
hope this helps someone.

Shadow Takedown: Perform hand to hand takedowns in the shadows without alerting enemies. (Level 3 requirement 100/100) Difficulty: 2/5
While doing some of the other challenges, you will be getting these too. This should come along with normal play of all modes. Your screen has to be in black and white when you do the takedowns (Death From Above, Ledge, executions). EMP works best for these! If you want them fast do them alongside your Mark and Execute challenge in the Challenge Chamber. Just before you Death From Above, throw in an EMP grenade.
I've been trying that for a while now, and my count still remains at 64/100 for Shadow Takedowns. I throw the EMP in from above, wait for it to go off, :ltbut: on in, and :ybut: the rest of them. I tried different methods, such as Portable EMP (you end up breaking the glass yourself, as opposed to the EMP grenade doing it for you), or dropping in right before the EMP goes off. Rarely will the [DETECTED] banner appear, and when it doesn't, I don't get a Shadow Takedown kill.
I don't know how you got it to work, but it's not for me.

My mistake you're right, I will change it thanks!

At the least it should be giving you one for "Death From Above" because that's a silent take down. If that's the one you need, run through and do Last Stand mode and you'll get tons! I'll edit my description just in case.

What level can I get the security camera challenge I'm struggerling
I did mine on the 4th co-op mission. At the beginning, you'll clear a couple of enemies from the garage area and 1 or 2 enemies from the security room overlooking the garage. Then, you'll go into the security room and through a door to get to the next area.
When you go through the door, if you jump through the window on the left and hang, there is a security camera right below you. Shoot it. Now wait for the guard to come and investigate. When he's looking up at it, shoot him in the face.
EDIT: I hope I didn't screw up my description as I did this challenge a few days ago....and I'm just trying to remember.

Wow great guide Tyger7!
Just wondering, you have two videos the same in your 'misc videos' post. Both are the sticky camera videos, one says it is for 'Shadow Takedowns'. Do you have a video where I could farm for shadow takedowns? I know their not hard to do, I just wondered if there is an area that is better than others for it.
Thanks heaps for all the video and guide's for the challenges, I've knocked off quite a few challenges I thought I would never complete.

After you get to your car at the end of the level, you get that little flashforward where you see Grim and Sam in the whitehouse. That scene is basically still part of the Washington Monument mission and you have to play it. It unlocked for me when the next mission's(White Box Laboratories) intro-movie started playing(I know this because it was the last challenge I needed for Splinter Cell challenges and I got the achievement at that point).

For the sticky camera challenge, I found the best place is Michigan Avenue right after you climb up through "sewer" and the guard walks straight over to give you an easy "Grab from Ledge" opportunity. Climb up slightly and look toward left until you see the red barrel. Now zoom in and throw the camera directly onto the barrel. View the camera, make the noise, and then detonate. I was getting three to four kills per attempt last night. Rinse and repeat :)

By far the easiest way to complete the Advanced Close Combat P.E.C. Challenge is to play the Lincoln Monument, and as soon as the guy gets to his car, and it explodes, make a bee line for the WOMEN'S BATHROOM. They never check in there. All you have to do is go in, wait it out, when Grim tells you your ride is ready, just exit and run to the bridge.

Nice guide very helpful.
However, you may want to change one thing.
For the Assault Rifle Marksman challenge, by far the easiest way to get it is to load up any map on singleplayer version of Last Stand (I did the first map) on rookie. Make sure you have an assault rifle equipped as secondary weapon before starting the game. Start the game, and run about meleeing guys, mark them and execute with the assault rifle equipped. Rinse and repeat :) Each execute uses a single assault rifle bullet, so you could kill as many as 30 guys if you wanted this way :P
Remember, do not reload your assault rifle!
I think this method is a lot easier than playing through that entire level you suggested (possibly the longest level in the game!) and it's easier than trying to manually shoot 15 guys in the head.

Very simple in Third Echelon HQ after you break in and are heading to the server room. You'll see "SERVER ROOM" on a big wall. Go left and shoot the 1st camera you see. Wait for a dude to walk up to it and pop him in the head.
Sick guide by the way Tyger7, challenge room rocks.

Gaining a M&E for each takedown makes that a better way to go, am I right?
Besides, the pistol takedowns often use 2 shots, so M+E makes up for if you happen to miss any free-aim shot.

If you need help on that section, look in the post below which I will be putting misc. videos.
Does this mean that only the person going for the challenge/"Perfect Hunter" achievement is not allowed to be detected? Can the other person/controller be detected?

Yeah only the guy going for the challenge can't be detected. The other player can run around using grenades and mines and use the weapon stash to refill!
Thanks much for that.
The challenges are all pretty much a 1 or a 2 because the game is geared to Sam being a massive killing machine.
The best places for challenges is at lease two or three spots in a level seeing as you can stack many of them.
In third Echelon at the point where you get automatic executions (1 of the best story conveyors Ive ever seen) if you walk with your sonar on, use an assault rifle and flash bang before you execute, those all count towards those specific challenges.
At the end of Iraq after you save Sam, if you reload after getting 2-3 grenade 3X kills a minute, you'll be done in no time.
When you have to make your way to the white house through the garden 3 waves of 5-7 enemies spawn the exact same way. If you throw a Mine or a camera before they come you can work on those and 10ms away from last known if you throw them short, then run away from a spot.
In the white house at the Kitchen ambush, you can lob Emp and flash bangs at those 6 enemies and they won't chase you up stairs. Before doing this though, you can hand take down the guy by the elevator and camera spot all the guys in the room. After your done nading, you can execute 4 of the of the 5 left and cat/mouse the last merc.
Like wise in Kobins Mansion you can mirror mark 4guys, kick the door in and kill 1, jump out the window and get the execution by throwing the first guy at the then clear the room.
Kobins Mansion is also the first place you can throw a guard threw a window, bash them threw a door, throw one enemy into another(all after going up stairs by taking the first guard at the window hostage) or throw them of a cliff(the first guard you meet by the door, just turn go threw the metal door and toss him off the bridge. You also get the car alarm check here.
Ledge grabs, White box.......... the whole level is a a window you can grab people from.
Kills from above, Third Echelon , there is a faux roof in most of the offices you can jump down and kill people from.
This game was too easy for a guide IMO. Your Sam fing fisher!!!:uzi:

Just found the easiest spot ever, and you get 2-4 per camera explosion!
Start the Downtown District stage. Once you've run up to the top of the theatre, chuck a cam right in the middle of the room, quickly press, X, B, Y and boom, 2-4 deaths, you can repeat it at the same spot before reloading checkpoint to get another 2-4 kills. Simples.

Jesus. I have one challenge left, Last Known Position. I'm using the method in the Challenge Guide and it's not working out. This is what happens...
I climb the pipe, I select the Remote Mine. I throw it into the room and I slide back down the pipe. I select the Remote EMP and bash the door in, let the EMP off and dash back to the steps, while changing back to Remote Mine. During this process, something happens and I'm stuck with "Remote Mine" instead of "Detonator". So when I get to the stairs, I just throw another mine and failure ensues.

Cat and Mouse: Perform a hand to hand takedown against an enemy who is investigating your last known position. (Level 3 requirement 15/15) Difficulty 4/5
In my opinion, you overrated this one.
1. Start the game, choose select scene, Price Airfield.
2. After watching the cutscene and hitting Grim, you'll eliminate all three guards at the start of the map in 10 seconds. Then you move up the stairs and mark the guard on the other side of the door(you can boost your other challenge) and then execute the guard with non silenced gun, then show your location by shooting all over the place and then just stay in the cover of the edge. Guards will run towards your last location in sort bursts and you can grab and execute them. 4 guards in 30 seconds.
Addition: The area is dark, so your cover edge is safe and makes this easy. 2/5. If screenshot is needed, I'll take it.

On the same level (Whitebox), further into the level is a better spot that allows you to do four at the same time as opposed to your suggested 3. After you save the scientist and gain access to elevator, you'll travel up into what looks like a waiting area. Go towards the double doors and mark the three guards behind the hostages (scientists) and the guard by the window straight in front of you. Come out of snake cam and go through the single door to your left. In this room is a window climb out and shimmy along to the window with the unmarked guard by it. Pull him out/take as human shield and then execute the marked guards. There is a checkpoint just as you enter the waiting room, repeat until you get it.

Splinter Cell Challenges
Actually there's a quicker way to get this right in the beginning of Michigan Ave. Climb under the hole in the fence, set off your EMP, grab the guy to your left, then quickly mark the 3 guys to your right by the truck. You're welcome!
True Marvellous

Easy way to get the shadow take downs is at the challenge chamber, just emp outside the door, then burst in.
Run straight for the guy in front of you before you reach him emp again and take him down.
Turn to the other two guys and run towards the nearest one and fire your final emp just before reaching him, take him down and soon as you've finished hit take down again and get the 3rd.
All 3 will count as shadow take downs.

Not sure if this has been posted, but I have a quicker way to get Cat and Mouse using the same room... I ran and bashed through the door, and quickly hid around the corner after the red indicator went off. All 3 took turns going to the door, and I got 3 per retry, as long as you have a silhoutte(sp) you should be fine to execute them.
I am having trouble with the security device advice you gave, I loaded up the second level of coop with the cops, and tried for about 15 mins, each time the cop came close I'd knock him out since you cant kill him, and nothing. I am gonna run through the 3rd E level since I am not getting anywhere with this one.
I also have another strategy for all the 3x challenges...On the Streets level (before the White House) you come to an area with 10-12 enemies, you could get 3 per retry instead of one with the frags, and the emps/flashbangs are equally as easy. (credit goes to thebloodytruth)
The AK47 is extremely useful for the 15 enemies to a single clip if you upgrade it, it has 55 shots before u have to reload. I got this easily on the mansion level. but its alot easier to go for it at the end of the one level with infinite marks.
hope it helps a little :)

I used the same room, right after the chopper crash. I would throw four EMP grenades - then 2 frags and got 4 EMP plus 2 Frag pts right there. Once I did it a few times i learned that you got spotted in the small doorway, run to the double door then spam emp and frag and you get the 10M away from last postion kills really fast up to 9 per 30 seconds of fighting. I did the same with my flash and remote same area

Also would like to add that there is a slightly quicker way to get the snake cam one, on Kobins mansion. This would be a lot easier with a vid, but unfortunately I dont have that kinda gadget :/
At the beginning, sneak up to the first door, and peek under. mark the two far guys, then open and punch the close guy and then execute the other two (2). now crawl up the window and pull this dude out, and go to the right door. peek under and get these (4).
the next one is optional, cause it is probably quicker just to restart, but you can go to the left door (near the window you crawled in) and peek under to mark this guy. then you can go through that door (sneaking to the left of him) and punch a guy in the left room, run back to him and execute him (5)
thats what i did, probably took less then a minute for 5 executions.
Great guide, helped me with my troublesome ones...Thanks a lot !

There are a lot of ways to do all these challenges, and if you find a better way that is cool, as it worked for you. Most of the challenges are in the Challenge Chamber because you're already there, so that is the main reason I give that spot as the spot to do it...because you're already there reloading. I don't think it would be faster to reload other levels when you could have taken 5-10 more seconds to do them in the spot I suggested. Yes, you're methods may be faster in general, but not faster when you have to play out portions of a level. Keep posting where you guys think are good locations, but by saying they are better you are just seperating them from the one area that people could have been doing them anyways! I have gotten tons and tons of requests to put someone's "good spot" in, but if I did that I promise you almost every single challenge would not be in the challenge chamber and would end up ruining the initial idea of the guide itself. I appreciate everyone trying to help, but remember in my intro I said to "get creative" :) I still suggest everyone throw in what they think works good for different challenges, but I most likely won't be editing my initial guide to input the new method.
Thanks for all the recent positive feedback, really apprecaite it!

Hey man ... great guide on this and the other guide for this game.
This Challenges Guide, in particular, is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a 41-year-old gamer with a family and don't have time to figure this stuff out but want the gamerscore.
This is going to be a great help.
Thanks again for all of your hard work!

Hey, I also had a little trouble with the "kill enemies 10 meters from last known position" so here is my little strategy in case it may help. It is right at the beginning of the level as well:
At the helicopter crash site in the theater, (this is the level before the White House) I would run up, toss 3 remote mines in the area, and get spotted. then i would run back down the theater steps and detonate. I checked the challenges each time I did this, and I got as many as 7-8 at one time!
There are (I believe) 10 enemies at this part...It was a great place to get the camera noise challenge as well, because you can literally get 10 per retry.
thanks for your chamber idea, it was the best for getting the cat and mouse ones, as well as the "disappear for 10 minutes" challenge. Would have never thought of it!

I was kind of looking for a spot to do like one explosion kills a bunch of guys with the sticky cam! I did try it on Michigan Ave's starting point, but it would kill the guy you have to interrogate sometimes! Would make you able to get the challenge done in 2-3 retries

Well for Assault just do the Echelon HQ. At then end you'll get unlimited mark/execute which counts as a kill (and uses one bullet). You'll easily be getting it there
Honestly the shadow kills will come regular, especially in deniable ops and cooperative. If you aren't going for all of the achievements, but just want to do the challenges, then replay any section that lets you get a few kills before you reload while in shadows. (Example, look at the 10x predator video, the first batch of guys you kill can all be in the dark very easily).

Hey, I asked this a couple of pages back but I didn't get an answer.
I've been trying to get the chokehold challege with two controllers but haven't had any luck. All the enemies just push my guy away instead of grabbing him in a chokehold. So, I was wondering if there's some special trick to get in a chokehold? Does the difficulty setting affect it? Does my armor value affect it? Do I need to approach the enemy in some special way? Are there enemies that are more likely to do a chokehold than others?
I know I'll automatically get chokeholded at the end of the first coop-mission and I could just grind that, but playing that chapter 15 times just to get that challenge done isn't very tempting..

I ended up doing the co op mission solo for the last few chokes I needed. I found that the damn puter just wouldn't put me in a choke doing split screen. Either get a human online partner and hit the last level of the co op and stick it out in the bottom of the EMP hut at the very end or you will be best to just do the garanteed choke at the end of the level 1 mission.
I found the basement floor of the room where you need to plug your emp into the floor at the end of the co-op campaign to be a good grind spot for the shoot 5 guys while incapped as well and they are very grabby there as well. But you will need a human co-op partner for both. For whatever reason they seem to be a lot more consistent with their grabs with an online partner.

The guy will choke you if you are trying to hand-to-hand kill him from the front, and you're detected by him. If you're just standing and not hitting any buttons at all, then that's why he is pushing you.

Tried that but that just leads to more pushing or me killing the guy.

I did Full recovery differently from your suggestion, only because I haven't done co-op realistic and before I did the challenge I hadn't done any co-op hunter or last stand either. I solo split screened it on the [rookie] 2nd Hunter level of St Petersburg Banya. Right in that shower area at the beginning. I put controller B on the pipe near the light. Then I got controller A under it, got noticed [reinforcements called] and shot down. After that I waited for a couple of them to be in line of sight, and tapped x real quick [emp] on controller B, and then, without really aiming, I took out 7-8 guys no trouble. I got the challenge first try, and I imagine that there is very little room for error otherwise, as it was extremely easy and took little to no planning.
I also got my other co-op challenges in this area because the pipe provides a good vantage point for rescuing controller B. Thanks to your guides and a couple of posts on this thread, I had all the other challenges finished; and since I hadn't done any co-op yet I thought I would just finish up the challenge achievements right then and there.
So I guess my suggestion focuses on people who want to get it out of the way early on before doing any co-op. Of course there are many other ways to get this challenge, everybody knows that, and like you said about a lot of the challenges one way can't really be the best way; Especially since just playing last stand or co-op on realistic can net you it easily. Honestly I was just trying to get the "Hunter" achievement completed, and when I came upon that area I noticed how well it was situated for co-op challenges and did them all real quick and went on.

Uh, full recovery isn't as hard as you make it out to be. I did this solo in hunter, split-screen. Loaded the first map (St. Peterburg) on Rookie, made sure reinforcements arrived (18 enemies), climbed up the pipe and ran up the stairs to the atrium. In the first corridor, I got downed and I got it on my second try.
Would have gotten it on my first if I had just been faster on the trigger. No need to juggle the second controller. EASY.

Didn't over-complicate it, you can get it anywhere that you want, it's just a suggeston. I got it on realistic on my first try without using anyone's advice, so I'm sure a lot of people will be getting these challenges in their own way. I just make suggestions, you don't have to insult the method I displayed.

Security Device Diversion
Go to the level you played in the demo (I don't remember the name of the level:()
Beat up the first batch of guys and interrogate the others dude.
Go the the left of the factory , climb the pipe enter throught the windows , you'll see a pipe at your left , jump and stay on the top.
Deploy a camera near the 2 guys that are under the EMP device , they shall investigate and it will give you 2 kills
Or there's another group of 2 person a bit further
I get all my kill in that place , it took couple of retry , but you can use it with a good combination with Sonar Mark
With your sonar target the 2 guys near the EMP and the one just in front of you and the others who's walking above you . Then wait for the proper time so the 2 guys that are walking don't see each others, execute them (you'll need the Five-Seven pistol with the upgrade to execute 4 people)
Once it's done you'll have 4 people remaining in the place with 3 camera to use.
If you haven't alarm anybody , 2 should be group and 1 in the small room and the others walking.
Aim the 2 guys who's togheter and shoot your camera near them , they should investigate and you should have 2 kill with 1 camera , after that get the 2 others by luring them the same way.
Sometime they do not investigate , so just restart.
Last Known Position
Playing in warehouse something(level with the red car at the beginning and the guard behind the stop sign.) , you'll need proximity mines
When you start you have 1 ciment barrier and a small dumpster , put a proximity mine between both.
Get cover behind the small dumpster , aim the guy and shoot him in the chest with a silenced pistol (don't kill him) . You'll revel your position , once that is done simply run/roll back on the side of the fences (between fence and car) reach the limit (a camera change will occur). I think you can instead just run on the opposite direction , near the railroad and the yellow sign , once you reach the limit level I think they can't see you
You'll be at 10 meters and simply wait for the guys to come get you , if you have place your proximity at the right spot it should explode , killing the guys and give you 1 Last known position kills.
Other way to kill the guys faster
You can put the proximity mine closer to him , like near ciment barrier closer to the gate , but you might not place it properly (pretty hard to aim precisely from the starting car). And he sometime don't take the same route.
So near the dumpster it's the best place because is last move is to get cover behind the ciment barricade at the right , so a proximity near that will blow him up.
Proximity mine with Last known position would work in any area , just place a proximity where you are , show yourself , hide again and just run away and let the guys blow up once he come look for you.

Choke holds should be only hard if you're extremely good at the game (as well as your partner) and you are able to headshot everyone without having to go hand-to-hand execute them. You really should be getting them through normal play with a cooperative partner, but if you're doing it with splitscreen it'll be a little bit harder. I gave a spot in the guide that talks about a certain location you can keep retrying, which is when you're interrogating the guy and he auto-holds your partner. Or you can also just run your guy into an enemy pressing the B button over and over in a Hunter mission (first one has two guys on the outside). Just be in front of him and make sure he knows you're running at him!

Just came up with a great method or the "Shadow Takedown" challenge Using the challenge chamber.
I did this on easy;
Run towards the door and let off a portable EMP quickly followed by bashing the door (running bash works best). Turn to your left and take out the first guy and then let off another portable EMP. Take out the guy just to your right and then the final guy. You don't have to use a third EMP as there is no one else around to notice you killing him. This will get you 3 kills towards the challenge. every time.

For the alternate door entry or whatever the challenge for killing someone by busting down a door. The earliest i found this was on the air field level (where you have to c4 the heliocopter and satilite uplink) right after you get the c4 you climb some stairs and there is a guy right on the otherside of the door just bust it down and theres the challenge. You may have to make some noise to get him to try and open it I dont think so but it is a possibility.

Remain Undetected(10 minutes) Challenge is worth of 0.1/5 what comes to it's hardness. You load the last chapter, run through two guards by letting them see you, and as soon as they spot you just use one emp and run under the stairs and stay there in hidden. I basically holded my LT against my floor and after I continued playing the game I got it.

Human Kevlar is pissing me off. You can't tag THEN grab and execute. I've tried that 15 times and no dice. And to grab THEN tag... yea, good luck. They bunch up, and you end up untagging guys, then getting shot to shit, or your human shield gets offed.

Like I said there, you have to Grab, Tag, Execute. Can't tag first, then grab.

A quick note for anyone stuck on the challenge where you have to drop an enemy 10 feet or more and this may have already been posted but its easist done on the very first mission before you enter the mansion your on the street and will encounter 3 enemies before climbing the building.
This is also a great place to get the car alarm challenge at the same time.
First set off the car alarm on the car on the left quickly move to the car behind it on the right and hide the first guy will come out to investigate and you can move up on him from behind for a takedown then jump on the wall next to the car as the other 2 guys approach and fire a shot if they havent already seen you..it'll leave the shadow to where you were and a guy will investigate move back to him and pull him over the side for 10 ft drop...

Yes, and also the heals one. Play coop level 3, last section. Have two controllers. When you get to the gun section hide the player you want to get the achievements with in the tunnel and head out with P2. Move player two out of the tunnel and crouch him behind the boxes to the left just out of the light. He will repeatedly get grabbed and sometimes shot and you can pick up both awards. Also when he is down, use your EMP to stun the bad guys and earn another bonus at the same time. The cpu seems to constantly respawn so one you have those you can pick up shadow takedown too.

I used your "challenge chamber" for a lot of things and as I was doing that I managed to get it to work pretty well for "Grab From Ledge" & portable emp escape and "cat and mouse" & flashbang escape but I only bothered recording the grab from ledge section.
Anyway here's my contribution: YouTube- Splinter Cell: Conviction P.E.C. Challenge "Grab From Ledge"

can anyone hep me with the last stand cheevos? I could get them by myself, but that would take an ungodly amount of time. Hit me up with a message if you want to play. My theory is, you help me get Gs I help you get Gs in any game I have. So help me and I'll help you in anything. Fair deal right?

Thanks for the guide. For Human Kevlar, I got it in the same level you recommend, but earlier - once you interrogate the officer at the start, you enter the big building. Ignore the first guy that comes to check the door, and instead sneak past to the second door. That first guy comes walking to check the second door, and you can grab him and easily get 3 marks there (there are 2 bunched up on your right and two more walking around on the left, you can wait for them.

Also to clear up confusion, you get the challenge regardless of being revived or not.
okay, i did this with 2 controllers/splitscreen by myself.
i was headed for the area above and found a place at the start of the level. found it by accident, but once I notice how many men were in the first room i decided to do it there.
on rookie with all the armor. used an assault rifle to blow out the lights from the the hallway. the plan was to run to the other end, behind where the red barrel was. didnt quite make it (basically still in the hallway that led to the first room). i killed one guy and the other downed me. i sat up and killed the second guy. i was hoping to get the 2nd controller close so i could use his emps.
funny thing, he didnt make it because the other 4 guys came single file and i had no trouble killing them one by one.
this was my last challenge, so i got 2 achievements.
thanks for the guide.
oh btw, i too used the garage to get the no shooting/no retry/no being spotted challenges, but when i did it the indication that i did it never popped up. i thought i didnt make it cause i actually hit b to melee/shoot someone. luckily i checked the pec status and they showed up there.

i still have 7 left on hte "Kill someone 10m from your last known position". My single player has got deleted so I'm trying to do them via last stand/hunter but I can't get a consistantly working method going.
Ive tried emping/running using remote mines or just run away and then stealth headshot but it never seems to count.
Anybody got some tips on this one?

YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Last Known Position Challenge
it took me a couple of tries to get this way to count, but finally got the hang of it.
when you bash in the door go in a couple of steps, emp, run to the railing and pop the remote mine at the railing. basically run into the railing. while running into the railing switch to detonator.

Thanks for this guide bro! :) managed to get most done and as others say as well, the "challenge chamber" helped out alot. But for the Cat and Mouse challenge... I would suggest the very same level, but in de beginning, because there is just one guy around, and you don't get bothered by anyone else and not taking unnecessary risks ;) (also just noticed someone created a thread on the very same thing I mentioned, whoops, sorry about that then. Besides, I found it myself before checking it out lol)

I did all the things you told in your guide: Stelath mode in the circus and one co op hunter mission without any "alarm" but the stealth challenge is not unlocked. Can you give me another way?
Thanks
If you need help on that section, look in the post below which I will be putting misc. videos.
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction Advanced Stealth and Advanced Close Combat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3mlZ0K_IpU)

YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Pistrol Marksman Challenge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiUTzHBTZ_g)
YouTube- Splinter Cell Conviction: Deadly Fall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-7oY8MG4-0)
