First off, I want to thank The Killer 47 for his practical advice that got me farther into the Survival Mode.

So here I am, as Tadakatsu Honda on the 76th floor. Game is saved, I have roughly 50% health and am ready to choose which of the missions on this floor I want to do to unlock a guard. My porblem? I've done both, in a way. I keep getting frustrated though.

On the Mission Woeful Beauty, the problem comes on the 77th floor where I have to defeat Hideoyoshi Toyotomi in 1 minute. It sucks, because most of my time is spent running up to him, and he seems to block my attacks, even my musou and true musou ones. After the allotted time passes, he disappears and the mission is failed. Past that, I have a challenging time on the 79th floor with all of the Azai officers, but I managed it OK. I finally get up to the 80th floor, and Oichi says basically that I suck and I should try harder next time.

On the mission Employment Opportunity I didn't really have any major issues until I got to the 80th floor and have to face off against Musashi Miyamoto. This guy levels me in about 30 seconds, and I maybe get 1/4 of his life in the process. It sucks bad because it makes me not want to go back and do those missions, and I've already put about 60 hours into this game to get where I'm at now.

Has anybody successfully completed these two missions? Any pointers? Things I can do differently? Do the goals change slightly depending on random variables?

Anything you guys can contribute is appreciated.

If you fail any of the objectives on the missions "woeful beauty or employment opportunity" then you need to restart because you wont be able to unlock the respective guard.

This method that I used is pretty risky, but it works. When your life gets into the red, you can use your true musou. Your bodyguard (monk or shrine maiden) will also drop items more frequently during this time. As soon as Hideyoshi tries to attack you, unleash your true musou on him. He will be unable to block it and you will get him with the full force of the attack. Then run away until it charges up again and repeat. You could use this same method on Musashi as well.

Make sure you have the skill that increases the time of temporary power ups and the one that increases the rate of musou charge. Hopefully you will get a good power up from your bodyguard before the fight starts, such as the attack doubler or infinite musou. There is a fair amount of luck to defeating Hideyoshi in 60 seconds, but Musashi is a little more manageable.

I too got these achievements as Honda. For Woeful Beauty I waited in the room outside of where Hideoyoshi was and kept killing enemies until one dropped an attack power up. As soon as I got it i picked it up and ran to Hideoyoshi. I tried to use my musuoa as little as possible because the animation for it takes up precious seconds. Basically I beat him by landing the first successful combo and then running behind him and getting another combo right as he stood up (requires precise timing), etc. until he was dead. This mission I found to be much more difficult than the rest because of the time element involved. It literally took me about 15 tries to beat him (make sure you have a save at floor 75 so you can restart there right away)...For Employment Opportunity I used the rush attack on Miyamoto to stay away from his attacks. Basically I ran in circles around him continuously until I saw an opportunity and then did my running rush attack, which if timed right cannot be blocked and does good damage. I actually completed this mission on my first try. Good luck

I'm also having trouble with these. I've only tried Woeful Brauty so far. Problem I have is fighting the Azai. I keep getting hammered in minutes. How do you beat them all. I always get the same problem, they gang up on me then juggle me into the air. Im dead by the time I hit the ground again.
Iv been using Mitsuhide, max level with all skills, but only lvl 3 weapon. For the life of me I can't beat them. How do you beat those groups?

What's the best way to level your character up, just play the storymode missions again? Also, do you eventually get to pick what level you start on including 61 and 71? I only got to 51 before I had to return the game. (This info will be used on a second rental.)

Yah, find an easy story mode mission to do to level your character (and guard) up. You can start at higher levels in Survival mode, but you have to pay a decent sum of money to 'warp' to that floor.

My suggestion is to get to the 76th floor save point, save it in a new slot, and then you can just reload that save point to skip having to do 71-75 again. Of course, I still haven't beaten these two guys, and I'm past 60 hours of gameplay. Don't let that scare you though, I just suck really bad at this one.

I know this is an old thread but I'm about to try to knock of my last 3 achivements for this game. How exactly do you save in another slot? I've thought of this as well but everytime I save it and go to load it up it erases the save. Also I was wondering which one is easiest. I would think the one where you don't have to kill Hideyoshi in 1 minute would be.

yeah how the heck can you do that save and then reload? it deletes the game save file. and if you save it on another file then it makes you quit it and then saves. so either way you can do it once. is there a way around it?

Cool so you can save on 71, that's what I was wondering I've been working through the game to unlock Ranmaru now then I will slowly work on the guards probably
