when do i start farming?

i dont know when should i start farming? i read that some of the item takes millions of halos to purcahse. i just rented the game yesterday, i'm at chapter 5, im still to early to farm.

You can really farm Halos whenever you want, since the money stays with you through out your playthroughs. You don't need to buy the higher priced items if you don't want. but I guess they could help ;)
