I know there are a bunch of threads like this about Gamefly, but I don't know whether to get it or not. I heard it is really nice, but the shipping times are really long. I live in North Georgia and they have a center in FL, so how long do you think it would take? I could get a game subscription at my local Blockbuster video store but they have a very limited supply and it is more expensive.

Gamefly's shipping isn't long. Well mine isn't. It takes about a day or less. I also use blockbuster but yeah, they are limited and usually their games that are new are out of stock.

Shipping seems to be hit or miss it seems. Some people always get it in a couple days like netflix does, or like me it takes about 5-6 days from the time I drop one in the mail. I have had it happen twice that I dropped it in the mail and got one back in 2 days. Don't know what the deal is. But other than the 2 that got lost in the mail (granted one qwas in the middle of the blizzard), worst case has been 6 days from the day I drop the previous game in the mail.

Great list of games...but few that are available right away. Shipping times are horrible unless you live in California, Florida and the Northeast states.

Plan on waiting 4-6 days to get your new game once you drop it in the mail...

i live in NYC, and the closest shipping center is Pittsburgh! what kind of poop is that? It takes two days to get my game... and then depending on if they ship my game in the morning or afternoon i get it 2 days the earliest and 3 days the latest. The turnaround time is extremely lame. Netflix, it only takes 1 day for them to get my dvd, and then 1 day to get me my next one.

Wow. 2 days? Big deal.

I subscribe to a similar service in Canada, and thanks to the notoriously awful Canada Post, I am lucky if I see a game get here in 4 days. Usually takes 7.

Not to mention the other day I got a game that was cracked in half. I hope your mail carriers are more competent that mine.

I should sign up for it since im 1 and a half hours from Pitt i would probably get my games really fast. Well i was signed up once before the shipping center in Pitt opened and i still got my games real fast then too like 2-3 days.

I like Gamefly, shipping isn't that much of a problem, if i send and recieve legit it takes maybe 4-5 days for a full turn around, but if their is a game you really want you can always report it as not recieved by them on as soon as you send it and they take it off right away. Also if you have the patience to keep a written copy of you list as back up you can manipulate your queue to get new releases right away, Just make sure it's the only game on there on the Monday before release, they always become available on the monday and 90% of the time you will get it sent to you. I got Bioshock 2 and FFXII the wednesday after release doing this. O and I live in Mass with Pitt. as my nearest centre.

Since you're close, go head, but if the service starts getting don't be supprised. They usually are slower after you are a member for a couple months.

gamefly is much cheaper then renting games and its really quick. I have never had a problem with my games coming in on time. I recommend it.

The price they sell their games is worth the membership alone! Awesome deals.
