Few questions:

2) Is it actually fun to complete?
3) How are the graphics?

1. IMO, no. I'd say an easy 500-600. The rest depend on how much time you have. One achievements involves you playing for 14 hours without shutting off your Xbox (or saving).
2. I didn't complete it, but I had a blast getting the 800 I have in it. Still need to work on the rest though.
3. I haven't played it on my HDTV, but they weren't too bad on my SDTV.

1. Well Easy 1000, yes. Quick? No. I didn't have a hard time with any achievements but it does take a long time to get them all (I'm still missing one that I think is glitched on my X-Box). Definately not arenter.
2. One of my favourite single-player games of all time. Its the opposite of most games out there. You sorta like it when you start playing it, then you really like it the second time around (and you WILL play a second time around), then you love it the third and so on.
3. I thought the graphics were fine but they're nothing to write home about. I think HDTV is a must though. Some people couldn't read the in-game text on SDTV's.

Thanks for the responses and I do have 42inch ws Sony LCD. So yeah I do have an HDTV. Should I wait until the ultimate or collectors edition comes out. I heard through the grapevine that there would be more achievements added at the time, can anyone confirm this. Thanks again!

The April issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly hinted that the Platinum version might have co-op. But I haven't seen/read anything about new achievements.

i wish there was a collectors edition in the states, the U.K got a collectors edition Dead Rising with a metal case, which pissed me off becuase i love dead rising and i really wanted a collectors edition to it!
and like the guy above me posted, there may be a platinum edition comming soon with co-op, or you could get it now and i think there would still be a way to get the co-op and the other achievements. i think its a deff buy, i love this game alot. if they do come out with co-op, then id deff play it alot more then i have been recently lol

I agree with this. It isn't hard getting most of the achievements, but it's just time consuming. I played through the game a lot focusing on a few achievements per round. The harder ones like Saint and Transmissionary require a lot of focus and a real memory of the mall, survivors and timing.

You kinda hate it or love it! I love it! It's funt to play, fun to unlock achievements (50 at all). Good playable graphics (the way it should be), good loading times, much variation, realistic (in between the surrealistic part), and much much fun...
A way to play > Get your friends overnight and play for a few hours the story mode with some sugar, popcorn and soda. Super game if you ask me (one of a kind).

There wont be anymore achievements, retail games wont go over 1000 GS. A few rumours going around that BulletWitch will get more achievements. Co-Op on this game will be awesome though, got the 1000 GS on this game and it took me about 5 maybe 6 playthroughs, very easy.
EDIT - I was just thinking, if they do add anymore achievements its very unlikely you'll get any gamerpoints from them. I just remembered they added some more achievements to Kameo, worth zero points though.

There could be an expansion though surely?
Oblivion's gone up to 1250 with the impending release of the Shivering Isle expansion.

I hope that they won't release expansion to every game. Its getting pretty expensive to pay 2400 Microsoft Points (Shivering Isles) for only 250 extra gamerpoints.
And my answer to 1st post's questions:
1) Is this an easy 1000? - No. Well they are not hard to get, just time consuming. Especially the 7 Day Survivor is just sick. I hope none game in the future has these kind of achievements anymore, where you have to play 14 hours straight without saving. 7 Day Survivor is just really, really boring to get. And if you manage to survive 6 days and then die, you have to start all over again. And trust me on this one, I have 1000G from this game. ;o
2) Is it actually fun to complete? - Yes! This game is really fun to play. But if you mean are the achievements fun to complete, I'd still say yes, EXCLUDING the achievements: Saint, 5 and 7 Day Survivor.
3) How are the graphics? - They are OK. The graphics fit in this game almost perfectly. Altough you won't be concentrating on the graphics when you are beating the shit out of zombies with the baseball bat. =)

Tbh I'm more interested in the content than the gamerpoints :p I doubt they will release an expansion pack with extra gamerpoints for DR anyway, was just saying there is a way of doing it if they wanted to.

But if you are a perfectionist (like me) and you want all the gamerpoints from every game you have, its getting a little expensive to buy extra content for 2400 MS pts just to get those last 250 gamerpoints. I wish extra content wouldn't contain any gamerpoints, so I wouldn't have to buy them. =)

Fair enough :)
BTW to keep on topic (as I've failed miserably :o), I really love the concept of Dead Rising but seem to struggle to get far on it. It's certainly not an easy game imo and you have to shift your thinking to an unconventional save system. However I'd say it does reward you for it, so it's well worth a purchase. :)
That's coming from someone who is extremely bad at it though :D

Once you get to a decent level, say level 20 + you'll be fine. I rarely saved much, maybe twice per playthrough.

That makes sense. Think I just need to devote some proper time to it, too used to dropping into games at the moment, so have to devote a day to just playing through DR I think :D
