Can the ranked games be won by having the other person quit?

No. The game must be fully played and completed. I know your post is old now, but hey, might as well answer.

Before the game came out, you were able to have the opposing player quit 9 or 10 times for the wins, then fully play and complete one game and it would unlock. I'm not sure if Visual Concepts ever fixed that issue though.

I will actually be checking the quitting 9 times and then playing the 10th in about 10 minutes. I'll report back if that does indeed still work or if the devs, VC, fixed that issue.

Yes it does still work like how I thought it did. Quit out of 9 games and then play the 10th to unlock the achievement.
