I have a quick question about the 4 Guardians one. Does it matter what difficulty you set it on or can it be on any difficulty?

I'm assuming any difficulty because I got it on easy once.

Well I never got it on novice so right now I decided to try it on normal and hopefully I'll get it then.

i wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this: i got 500 kos in a battle and received the level four weapon and then i saved, but never reveived the acheivement and a short time later i obtained matsukaze and saved, and yet again, did not receive an achievement. did i do something wrong or is it a glitch?

yeah i think so because i was playing and saved and out of nowhere it gave me the matsukaze and level four weapon acheivement even though i got them like 2 days earlier haha. and now i shouldve gotten the third consultation but its not giving to me.

I've been having problems getting the 4 Guardians. On two games I've taken all but one terrority and have skipped turns enough on one of them to go from having $110,000 to $600,000! I thought maybe I messed something up or whatever, so I went to another battle scenario (to get other achievements and such anyways), and now I'm down to one terrority and I've gone from $100,000 to $300,000 doing the same method the guide mentions and it isn't doing anything. From both battles I've used the same people.. enough to have my main at lvl 20 and even another cpu at 20, with some others at 17, 16, and 15.
The first time I did it it was on easy, but the second time it's on normal, if that makes any difference. Any help from someone who's gotten it would be appreciated.
Also, with the Moon Child, I never did get the Southern Trade option, though I had Chinese and Western, so for the hell of it I clicked on Western Trade and got the Moon Child horse the first time. I of course, didn't complain. But just for the records, I guess it can be gotten with Western Trade if Southern Trade isn't available.

You don't need 100,000$ for the achievement. This talk of having 100k will get you the 4 Guardians is 100% bogus. I got it with only 700 in the bank after I invaded a fief.

But how? I recently beat the Anegawa campaign and it didn't unlock the Incident at Honnoji, and after messing with the saved game before I beat it, I begrudgingly decided to do it again and try getting the Four Guardians during it as well. So from the beginning of it, I used the exact same four guys throughout the entire mission, and after yet again skipping turns after having beat everyone but one territory, it still didn't give it to me. Frustrated, I went ahead and beat it, and it STILL didn't unlock the Incident at Honnoji! Wtf.. aside from the Four Guardians, I absolutely NEED to have the Honnoji unlocked before I can get the rest of the achievement points.
It wasn't until at the very end, having conquered everything, that I realized that one of the four guys I had been using throughout the entire thing, was the Lord. Do you think that had something to do with not getting the Four Guardians? >.<!
I completely wasted like four hours playing the Anegawa for the second time. You can imagine how amazingly happy I am.

to get the southern trade option you must take over the fief that has southern trade, its one of the ones on the far left island

All you have to do is get 1000 KOs with a character who is not the lord. Also you need to have that specific smith at level 5. Now as for actually getting the 1000 KOs the best way to do it is to have your army defend and you go to the enemies main camp and keep killing the Base Captains that are there as they will respawn as long as you don't have the link between one of your bases and the main camp.

Yeah using your lord is a problem, only use him/her if you're in a tough battle otherwise leave him/her be. I tend to use the 4 I want as the 4 guardians and do 2-3 battles with each before moving on to the next character. I kept doing this until after I took over a fief and the 4 guardians movie popped up.
As for the incident at Honnoji, maybe try playing a short regional scenario and maybe it will unlock afterwards.

Did the Tokugawa get destroyed? Because you need to keep both the Toyotomi (with only 2 fiefs) and Tokugawa (doesn't matter how small or big they are) alive until the event unlocks, otherwise if either clan kicks off you have to start over from a previous save or start the scenario over again.

so u play as toyotomi and put yukimura sanada in the same fief as toyotomi. how do u insure that tokugawa doesnt get destroyed?

Well you could always try to ally with them so they don't get killed early. Help them take over a few fiefs so that they can hold thier own for a few years.

The Osaka campaign I did exactly like I described to get the achievement, so I can personally guarantee that if you do it exactly like that, it will work. If it doesn't work, you probably did something wrong~
For the 4 Guardians, you don't have to have 100k. Or all the fiefs. Or use the same generals. I've gotten it in several games where I only had like 18 fiefs captured, less than 10k money, and it gave it to four random generals that I had never even played. It's pretty whack, just got to be patient.

It is probable. But there is a couple of times where I just recruited the guy and he/she was one of my 4 guardians. I'm sure there is a myriad of factors on how the AI chooses your 4 guardians... I just wish in the next game that you need to get something like: x amount of battles fought, x amount of bases captured, x amount of generals defeated, x number of fiefs taken over with, x amount of consults that show up on a counter on the officer info screen. Instead of this ... hmm well I'll take those 2 because they were used alot, him because he looks cool and him because I just feel like it.

About how long does this normally take to get, I've spent over an hour and half wasting money over and over, and still nothing.

Yea, I only have two Moon Child and Persian Mare. It's just annoying cause it only took me about 5 turns to get both of those. I end up getting different mounts.
Heh it happens. I got mine after using benefaction 2-3 times while other it can take up tp 30-40... It's pretty much luck on when you get Matsukaze.

What the hell is wrong with the "Most Valuable Warrior" achievement? Just did my second 1000 KO's in a battle and I still didn't get it? I even got the scene afterwards when you're praised by your lord...

I think this "Four Guardians" achievement really hate me. I don't know what to do and I've read everyone else's help thread and still no help. I've used the same people over and over and nothing. It's the last thing I need to do and I've been trying for days.

Hope to shed some more light on this 4 Warriors problem...
I think it has something to do with making your culture = 1000. I know that culture caps at 1000 and when I got mine to that, at the end of that turn, I got the cinema and the achievement.
I was also in my second campaign and I had 4 warriors other than my Lord over level 15, and I also used them for pretty much the whole campaign to take over other fiefs.
I had a ton of money, but I don't think that really had anything to do with it.... I think in order for this cinema to happen, you need to get all of your land into a high standard..... I'm not sure if raising my crops to caps helped or not, but in the cinema they talk about the wonderous land that you have created, so raising your crops and your culture and having a few warriors who are powerful will probably lead you in the right direction anyway....
You can raise your culture by doing western or chinese trade, it's a random occurance that happens when you do well in those trades, you will get 5 pts of culture and usually something else nice, like one of the rare horses, or one of the skills that you can't buy.
Hope this helps some. =-)

Four Guardians = Take over all but 1 Fief, gather 100,000 gold, and just keep skipping turns. Foolproof way to get it.
Scenario: Incident at Honnoji = Beat the Battle of Anegawa scenario.
First I'd like to thank you for wasting hours of my very precious time.
To unlock the "Scenario: Incident at Honnoji" you do not play the Battle of Anegawa you play the "Battle of Kawanakajima" scenario.
Secondly taking over all but 1 Fief, gathering 100K in gold, and keep skipping turns is a foolproof way to waste your damn time.
I've now received the Four Guardians twice and it has nothing to do with 1 fief, gold and skipping turns.
All you need to do is pick four Generals (those that appear blue on your officers list) and constantly delegate, consult, train, and use Tea Ceremony on them. I also had each of them fight and win a battle, not sure if that matters but it's what I did. Then once I had enough Fiefs to have four or five consults each turn I just continued using tea ceremony on the first four turns, then delegated to one of them for the last. After about 30 minutes up pops the little cinematic. I would also instruct you to go into the shop and buy all the generals you can. My main four generals where not the ones shown. I have created generals that I used for the game. Easy way to start out with four maxed generals.
One last bit of advise is be sure to use long alliances with the Lords that are close to you to avoid defending your territory. Also pay attention to what your Generals are doing when you delegate. The seem to love the Annul Alliance.

Ok how do I pick/choose the four generals? Do I have to put them in one fief ?
Just not sure how I can consult just these four.
Many thanks for any advice
