I will try not to turn this into a rant but I believe I have just had the worst most frustrating gaming hour and a half of my life and I need an avenue to vent.
I can't remember Borderlands being that hard but now I turn it on after a few months and play the new dlc and I went from $9999999 to under 2000000 in a little over an hour. I am level 50 and sure the enemies are 51 but I just can't seem to do anything. Any tips? For example
is it any easier on the first rather than second playthrough? I have not got past the first roadblock and what pisses me off the most are the checkpoints. There are atleast 3 along the stretch of road which are utterly useless as the car drives right past and then when I am running through the base area above the road there are no checkpoints and I fight my way through only to end up getting killed towards the last part and start out on the road again with all enemies respawned having gained nothing but a little bit of exp. It is so frustrating and I don't think I've ever been as pissed off at a game before. I am all up for a challenge from time to time but shitty checkpoints and respawning enemies almost made me lose it.
Anyway rant over and any tips will be welcome.
It's much, much easier in the first playthrough, enemies are lvl 37-ish there.
You get little to no experience that way though.

lol ;) ^^^
but what i did was do a run of the eridian promitary and kill the rakk hive (got to 53 like this in one run) and the begining was much easier, also try using a corrosive gun on the lance (shock for the probes (I hate the probes))

yes it is harder, but is a good thing imo : regular game was way too easy at the end...

It gets easier as you level up and find better guns. Corrosive shottie FTW! I had the same problem when I first started, it was frustrating, but I can assure you it gets a lot more manageable.

Exactly this.
I found the DLC IMMENSELY frustrating at the beginning, to the extent that I almost deleted it. But after you manage to make your way through the first few missions and pick up some new weapons, it becomes a lot more manageable.
Except for those bloody Probes.....takes a while to best them :p

Agreed. I did two eridian promontory runs before going to T-Bone Junction the first time, and got to lv52, which I think made the beginning of the DLC much easier. As for the checkpoints, I haven't had too much trouble having them activate as I drive past them, so maybe you're passing them too quickly or not getting close enough. But I definitely agree that they need to add a couple New-U Stations to the DLCs (I said this in another thread not too long ago, but I forget which one it was atm). I would say that a station at the beginning of Sunken Sea and Deep Fathoms would make distance travel much more tolerable, and not make things too much different. I mean, once you clear the roadblocks once, you won't really spend much time in those areas ever again except for a few missions or if you want to go there for leveling up.
And as far as the probes go, they can be a pain if all you have are scoped and/or accurate guns. Shotguns can kill them quite effectively, as can both the scorpio/bloodwing action skills for those of you playing Rolands/Mordecais. Transfusion grenades can help too, since the health-absorbing projectiles home in on your enemies. And if you still can't get through some of these areas well enough, try joining a multiplayer game. The buffs you'll get from the other characters will usually make up for the increased difficulty of the enemies, as long as your levels are close to each others.
It seems like the people that have had the least problems with this DLC are those running Sirens, but personally I just can't pass up my Mordecai's shield-bypassing ability for maxing out his sniper tree and getting Trespass. I can't see myself doing the extra work at getting rid of shields now, although my combustion hellfire SMG usually does a quick job of it.

Yeh, I think I'll wait til I get up to level 52 or 53 and then head back to the second playthrough. I tried it on the 1st and it was way too easy (obviously if I'm level 50). Still I paid good money for the DLC so I might as well play through it twice.

good idea
i also suggest you try 1 of the playthrough solo, to avoid those annoying glitches (armory missions) that gave headaches to so many of us

I will only be playing solo. I played co-op once and it was fun but I don't have the chance to go online often.

I killed drifters using the monster, like 9000 exp each time, good for leveling up.

It's a big ass DLC pal, you might regret that sentiment :P

It's the second-to-last area in the main part of the game, where you fought the alien creatures right before taking on the destroyer. Since you're on playthrough 2, it'll take you a while to get back there, and doing it on playthrough 1 won't net you much experience at your current level. For where you are right now, I'd say the best area for you to go for quick xp would be the racing track (where you get the speedy-whatever achievement at), but honestly it'll be better in the long run if you just cruise to the end, otherwise you'll hit lv50 and have nowhere else to go (unless you've downloaded the Knoxx DLC and raised your level cap, and even then I'd say just run through it, seeing as going from 50 to 61 just in the Knoxx DLC is something you'll probably do before beating it).

Do some EP runs and get to like 52-54 so you have an edge.
I found that if you have a corrosive shotgun you can pretty much run through the entire DLC with little to no headache. Aside from drifters and probes, the majority of the lance were completely dominated by the corrosive factor.
I got extremely lucky and found a Vitrolic Crux at the very beginning of the DLC and it single handedly finished the DLC for me. I was running a Siren as well so if you happen to be using a soldier for the playthrough you'll be laughing all the way to the achievement point bank.

one of my mates dropped me a few of his lvl 48 corrosive weapons to help me out, and ill equip a corrosive artifact to my scorpio turret
just need to reach lvl 48 now to use the guns :p
Bhaha, man that should make it so much easier. Ask your buddy to do a few runs of the EP to boost your level a bit making the DLC easier. It will still be a challenge, but a not an overly frustrating one.
