Magna Carta 2 is a cakewalk, only like 40-60 hours. Last Remnant is a bit more fair, maybe 80-100. This one is about the same, if a bit longer. I don't know why grinding in a JRPG should be surprising to you. It's expected, frankly...
it might be expected but it puts me off even playing it.

It's expected, every RPG has it's grinding, I don't care anyways as I was gonna max this game out even if there wasn't long achievements there.

I love the grind. Ive had max characters in games like this before. I cant wait to put the time into this one.

Fail. What is next?, "oh I had to shoot people in call of duty, man I hate shooting people".
Face top the palm, maximum setting.

Ya OP you aren't going to find much sympathy here, especially right before the game comes out. Everyone is so psyched to play it, they will gladly grind to build levels / characters

Yeah, first of all we are speaking of Final Fantasy XIII, so you canīt say anything like "like another JRPG", its JRPG itself:p
Grinding is a normal thing in JRPG i donīt know if its the same in the other rpgs like Oblivion but i really get used to it. You always need to grind because of this "Insane bosses" in JRPGs that are ten times more powerful then the story related boss.
And i like it.

Wow... That's pretty funny... You've obviously never played a Final Fantasy game before...
This is better then the "What world is this game set in?" thread I saw just now (At least that guy did his homework, even if it *is* wrong...) but not quite as good as the one I saw the other day... "Does FF13 have a lot of cut scenes? I hate cut scenes in games".
This has been added to my list of "Favorite Threads".
Thanks for the laugh, I needed it ;)
